The Samsung HAF-QIN Refrigerator Water Filter is seriously the best out there! I have tried other filters and ended up having particles in my water and stale taste - a total waste of money. This filter is super easy to install. Easy as 1-2-3. Leaves water tasting clean and fresh and nothing else. The true test - we lost power for about 6 hours. Our dispensed water from the refrigerator was exhausted and I had to use bottled water. It tasted ok at the moment. The next day I refilled my large water bottle and was stunned at the difference. The Samsung filtered water tasted so much better! I am a very happy customer and would highly recommend

The HAF-QIN Refrigerator Water Filter fit my Samsung fridge perfectly. The filter is really easy to access and replace, and the fridge tells me when it's time for a new filter. The packaging was very eco-friendly - the cardboard box was sturdy enough to hold the filter securely and not get crushed but thin enough that it wasn't wasting material. I had to run water thru the filter, as usual, but once that was done the drinking water was crisp and clear. It's nice that this filter lasts longer than most water filters, filtering up to 500 gallons vs 200-400 on most water filters. I would definitely recommend the Samsung filter to friends and family.

I didn’t read the reviews before removing my original filter to make sure I ordered the correct replacement. When I tried to reinsert like instructions for inserting a new one until my new cartridge came, it hissed and leaked all in my drawers. I am terrified to leave it without my frig flooding! I just left it out and hope I can make ice since I had to reset my ice maker! I have no confidence that a new filter will work bc I should be able to stick my original one in as a placeholder. I have been referring everyone to your product but can’t in good conscience anymore bc if this major defect! Help! What are my options!? Very disappointed.

The Samsung HAF-QIN filter is not only easy to swap, but it also makes your water taste great. I am not afraid to admit but I had previously used a non OEM filter. It was a 3 pack and not worth it at all. There is no beating Samsung for ease of use and quality. The water is fresh and crisp tasting as it was when we originally purchased the fridge. Also noticed that the flow of water improved, it flows more than it did before. Also good to know that it has all the nsf certification to back it all up. The initial process is straight forward, let it cycle via 8 pitches then you are good to! Highly recommend this to anyone looking to replace their filter.

This Samsung water filter was very easy to install. All I had to do is twist and pull to get the old one out. Then slide and twist the other way to put the new one in. For my refrigerator, It's right in front so it's easy to see and I don't have to twist and turn my body to get access to it. Also, the is great as it gets rid of all the bad toxins that come in on the water from the water company. I'm definitely happy I have this refrigerator and these water filters. The other nice feature is on my refrigerator A clearly shows the lock symbol which tells me which way the hours have to be in order to be locked which is an added benefit

We got our Samsung fridge about 8 months ago and we got rid of our silver, high-end, on-the-counter, gravity-fed, water filter. We live in a city and while the tap water is not terrible, there is a noticeable difference between filtered and unfiltered. We were thinking we may need to get an extra pre-fridge filter to match our on-the-counter filter but we do not as the drinking water is just as good! I watched a few videos on how to install it and in my experience you have to give it a full half turn while gently pushing the filter. It was super easy to replace and be sure to empty the drip tray under the filter during each change.

I have had multiple experiences with the Samsung water filer because we have owned Samsung refrigerators for several years. It is very convenient to both remove and replace the filters - just twist and pull and to replace, push and turn. Using Samsung filters allows for perfect fit into the filter compartment. Since water is integral to the refrigerator in terms of fresh water dispensed (including filling water pitcher inside the refrigerator) and for making ice, it is important to get a quality filter. Samsung's filter does not disappoint on that level. Both water and ice are clear, clean and healthy as a result of the filter used.

i seem to disagree with the other reviewers. i followed the instructions, but the filer was very difficult to remove, so the first time i called samsung's help line to see if it was ok to remove with a pliers. they said "yes". i removed and reinstalled with no problem. we drink a lot of water, so i knew the filer wasn't going to last 6 months; it lasted about 3-3 1/2. our house has a whole house filter on it anyway, but this filter seems to make the water taste cleaner. even the cats prefer water from the refrigerator than the tap! i usually order two filters at a time, in case they are on back order. this will be my third filter. i have no complaints!

recently got this HAF-QIN refrigerator water filter, and it's fit well for my needs . completely transformed the taste and quality of the water coming out of my fridge. Fitbwell no problem when installing hassle-free, toolless twist-and-lock replacement process that takes only a few minutes and fits compatible Samsung French Door models without leaking. I really like this Samsung water filter. It was easy to install, which is a major plus. I highly recommend this filter from Samsung for many reasons. First the guidance to place the filter in the fridge are well defined setting up of this filter is like a Childs play. The water quality it pumps out gives me peace of mind as it is safe and clean I am totally assured that my kid can have water from the dispenser without any concerns Also this filter lasts longer than filters in other brands. This filter lasted me more than nine months while other comparable models need to be replaced within six months. Some things in life should just work without being in the foreground, and the Samsung water filter is one of those things. I do not want to taste or smell bad water. This filter does exactly what it is supposed to do: it provides us with good well water that has no artificial filter taste or smell. Since we make our own sparkling water, we heavily use our Samsung Bespoke water source. It saves us a lot of money while providing even better quality than what you can buy in the store. Replacing the filter is very easy due to its accessible position. In addition, the fridge tells you exactly when to replace it based on both time and water volume. Thank you, Samsung!

I held off on buying these for a year or two because of the reviews. Haha. May have been a first timers luck, but I had no issue installing it in my 4 door, 28cu, smart hub fridge. No leaks or anything unusual rather than water sputtering out of water dispenser for a few seconds as it adjusted to the new filter. I didn't turn off my water (tough to get to without scratching my tile floors), but just gently turned the water filter into place until it caught and went in. Had to do an extra rotation at first since it didn't seem aligned, but eventually went in, no problem. Best of luck! Hopefully my luck continues... haha

I honestly didn’t realize just how old my previous Samsung water filter had gotten until I finally replaced it. The difference was noticeable almost immediately. The first glass of water with the new filter tasted much fresher, cleaner, and more refreshing than what I had gotten used to. It was one of those things where you don’t really notice the gradual change in taste until you replace the filter and suddenly realize what you’ve been missing. Installation was simple, and the improvement in the water made it completely worth replacing. I’ll definitely be paying closer attention to how long I leave the next one in!

i purchased the exact genuine samsung water filter, haf-qin/exp, for my 3-month old refrigerator. new filter does not fit. with calipers, i measured the dimensions of the plastic catch (showing mechanical conflict) and catch is thicker on the new filter (batch code a8441) than the original filter (batch code b0431). very disappointing quality issue for an expensive new refrigerator. from other comments, i see this is a known issue to samsung. the link i see on some comments, which is supposed to help you install new filter does not work either. why hasn't this issue been resolved by recalling defective filters?

I have had my fridge for a year and a half now, and changed the water filter 3 times now. As a result, I’m loving the water dispenser, pitcher, and ice maker! Speaking from experience, read the instructions carefully, definitely shut off your water supply feeding into the fridge before changing the cartridge. This is crucial to prevent the cartridge casing from damage. Other than that, it’s a simple twist and pull to take the old one out, plug the new one in, give it a wiggle and twist to lock it in. My fridge model will show the exact % life left on the screen or phone app, so I know when to change it next time.

My Samsung fridge requires periodic replacement of the water filter that is used by the ice maker and the water dispensers. The filter is centrally located behind a flip up door in the center of the main refrigerator compartment. Installation is very easy. You twist the old filter and pull it out. Then you push in the new one and twist it in place. Takes a few seconds and then the replace filter light resets. Packed in a no frills easy to open box. My only complaint was the lack of instructions on the box. I had done a filter replacement before so I didn’t need them but they would be helpful to new owners.

The Samsung HAF-QIN water filter is nice and super easy to install. It took only few minutes to remove the old filter and install the new filter. As instructed, after filter installation, you have to let the water run for a few minutes. About a gallon or so, then the filter and system is ready, tasting clean and fresh. My family and I, use the refrigerator's water dispenser every day. So, having the best tasting water is very important. Overall the installation and use of the Samsung HAF-QIN water filter is easy and provides a great tasting water for my family. I will definitely buy this water filter again.

We’ve had 2 different Samsung refrigerators throughout the years, and one of our favorite features has always been having filtered water and clean ice right from the fridge. I bought samsung bespoke fridge, and then I got this filter for modelDA97-08006C-A. I have the DA97-17376B replacement filter. I am pregnant and I thought this filtered lead. I can't find the performance data sheet anywhere for this. I relied on this filter to filter lead because it had the NSF label. I bought a genuine one. Where is your performance safety data sheet for this? If you can't provide that to me, then basically I was duped by shady marketing. If you need a filter to filter lead, I advise anyone to do their research as it seems this product is duping people into thinking it filters lead.

The Samsung HAF-QIN filter did exactly what I needed. It went in quickly with a simple twist-lock and no tools. There were no leaks and no trouble getting it to seat. After running a few cups through to flush it, the water and ice tasted clean and fresh. I had no drop in flow from the dispenser. It’s a genuine Samsung part, so I don’t have to worry about fit or whether it’s certified, the way I would with an off-brand filter. I’d buy it again when it’s time to replace it.

The Samsung water filter is a great way to keep our water fresh and clean. It was easy to replace and there was no mess involved as I have had some filters leak water when changing them. We use our refrigerator water dispenser so much with a big family and it’s important that we have a filter that provides clean water that tastes great. Samsung’s filter does not disappoint in that. It’s also great that the filter doesn’t seem to interfere with the flow of water in either the in-door dispenser or the water pitcher dispenser. Of course, it also helps to provide good, clear ice cubes from the ice maker.

The filter came in when we were just getting to the end of the life of our current filter. I went ahead and installed the new one and purged the water several times. Since this was at night We waited until the morning so the water line could get cold again. The next morning my wife actually tried the water first. She instantly tasted a difference from our previous filters. She then had me taste it and it was , well, different. I really did not think there would have been much of a difference but there really was. It tasted cleaner and more refreshing. I am very happy to have been included in the campaign as I now have found the filter we will be using from now on, if i can find it.

Make sure you shut off the water valve on your fridge to release the pressure, twist and pull out the older filter and insert the new filter and twist it to lock it in place before turning the water valve back on. I highly recommend this Samsung HAF-QIN Water Filter for many reasons if your Samsung fridge uses it. This filter lasts long on average in comparison to other peer brands. My filter lasted around a year while other makes filters are to be changed every 6 months or less. The carbon in the filter cleans all the bad stuff that come along with the water and you can have peace of mind for great quality of water. Replacing the filter in the fridge is also easy as the instructions arew well printed on the filter. I was given this filter at a discount to share my honest feedback . I would only say Go for it as it is more cost effective and high quality filter.

I am really happy with the Samsung HAF-QIN water filter. I was a little worried that installing it would be complicated, but it took me less than couple minutes to put it in. It clicked right into place without leaking. I could honestly taste the difference in the water- almost immediately. The water tastes much fresher and cleaner than a generic filter. Even the ice tastes better now- which was a nice surprise. I would definitely will be purchasing the genuine Samsung filter when it is time for a replacement. Love my new Bespoke appliances! The water filter works great and is very easy to install. Word of warning, when you place your order make sure you get the correct filter by calling. Do not go by the recommendations online. I bought a two pack and they sat for a couple months till I got back from out of town and they were the wrong filter. You only have 15 to 30 days to return so I was out of the window. I am very pleased with this filter and the taste of my water. Having the indicator light in the fridge has been a great help since I can be away for months at a time. Love my new appliance suite!

This Samsung HAF-QIN arrived to my house well packaged and undamaged. It fit into my refrigerator very easily. After running the required few gallons through the filter, it's been all hands off. The filter makes our water taste better and we don't have to worry about a thing. I also noticed that this filter lasts longer than most other filters on the market, which is an awesome perk. I received my Samsung HAF-QIN replacement water filter for my new Samsung Refrigerator. It came well packaged and sealed. The installation was straightforward by simply twisting the locking mechanism left and it springs out. The new one slides in the same way and twists back right and it locks in place. This was my first time replacing the filter on my new Samsung Bespoke fridge, and it couldn't have been easier. I removed the old one, popped the new one in, flushed the water by filling the jug and disposing it about 7 times (I used this information based on my old Samsung fridge), and that was basically it. The fit was perfect, it wasn't too hard to rotate it and lock (also based on my previous experience), and the water tastes clean and fresh with no weird taste or odor. The only part that had me scratching my head was figuring out how to reset the filter indicator afterward. I couldn't immediately figure out how to do it, but that's really a refrigerator setting and has nothing to do with the filter itself.

i put the filter in and that fit fine. i went to reset the filter light - hold reset button 3 sec. nothing, it will not reset. text support said: ?unplug it (or turn off power at the circuit breaker), wait some time for the electrical charge to clear out of it (usually 1 to 5 minutes at most), and then power it up again." that does not seem right. i have to pull the refrigerator out and unplug.? really after chatting the rep said to hit the lock button for 3 seconds. ok i tried hitting the lock button and then hitting reset. guess what that worked. remember to hit lock again. the owner manual should have stated this and not waste my time researching the issue and going through the chat. at least that worked.

We got the Samsung HAF-QIN water filter for our Samsung Bespoke Refrigerator. It was a perfect fit! We just had to hold it horizontal, slide it in and provide just a small bit of force to install it. Then you turn it to lock it in and all set! I ran the water for a few seconds per the instructions and then we immediately had fresh, clean water. It’s nice if you use the genuine filter because you can go in the app and reset the water filter and since it will recognize the filter, you’ll get an alert when it’s time to change it. Easy install and great tasting water!

we have had our fridge for about 8 months. bought this replacement filter in dec. now in january we notice that the water coming out of the filter is leaving a white residue behind. our tap water is not doing this. only from this filter. spent 40 minutes trying to get support and just kept getting passed around to extensions. guess i have to pay for a new genuine filter and hope i get a good one. can't get support on this one from the company. its past 15 days for a return so stuck. i'll be sure to test the new one and return at any sign of residue. buyer beware.

I've had my Samsung Bespoke refrigerator since 2022, and this HAF-QIN refrigerator water filter fits perfectly. It's manufactured by Samsung, so I knew there wouldn't be any compatibility issues. Installation was fairly simple and took about 10-15 minutes. The hardest part of the install was flushing the water line after. My refrigerator's change filter indicator turned off automatically. The water and ice tastes noticeably cleaner. After a few days of use I checked for issues, and I have not noticed any issues with leaking or breaks in water pressure

We got our fridge going on five years now. Loved it, still love it though the doors are not closing as smoothly and need a little help getting shut, handles are starting to creak or fittings are a little loose, the deodorizer is a little less optimal. My main disappointment is in the sustainability of everyday use, namely the water filter. How does Samsung build an awesome overall product without considering the long term environmental effects of their disposal accessories ? I don't get why the water filter does not come with some type of recycling guidance, even if just for the hard outside plastic. I totally understand that the water filter is very particular in nature, but can't a solution be sought other than landfill ?

The Samsung Haf-Qin water filter does a great job filtering the water from my Samsung refrigerator. It's always clean and fresh. My only problem with this filter is how difficult it is to install. The directions are unclear and I had to watch a YouTube video to do it exactly right. It is not as simply as removing it and putting it back in. You have to turn it counterclockwise to the lock picture and then turn it clockwise and push it in really hard to get it in correctly. Once it's in its great but it can be a bit anxiety provoking getting it in right.

The water filter arrived quickly, with no damage. Installation instructions were clear and easy to follow. Installation was very easy - just turn off the water, relieve the pressure by opening the glass fill valve and remove the old one by turning counterclockwise and pulling it out. Then just simply insert the new one, turn clockwise to seat it and turn the water back on. I then ran several pitchers of water to flush out any foreign material that may be present. NOTE - when you first dispense the water, it will splash as the trapped air is released. The quality of the filtered water is very good, with no odor or taste. The chlorine smell that we get from the tap water is no longer present after going though the filter.

This filter has been incredible at improving the taste of our water. We make a lot of tea and electrolyte drinks so we go through a lot of water everyday. Since we are on well water, having a filter that can remove up to 99% of contaminants is important. The filter was very easy to install and with the ability to process 300 gallons of water, should last us quite a while. We've even started using it for cooking, especially to boil foods and keep even more contaminants out. The design is set to control any leaking issues which gives us peace of mind.

This filter was exactly what I needed for my refrigerator. It fit perfectly and was very easy to install. Water tastes clean and fresh. I know there is a ton of copies out there, but I always feel it is a safe bet going with the original from the manufacturer. No complaints so far, and none to be expected. PRO TIP: Make sure that you turn off your water line so that you have a clean installation and avoid any mess. Leaving water behind in the filter area will cause mold to grow and you will be very unhappy the next time you have to replace your filter.

I purchased a genuine replacement filter using the Samsung Subscription Service. The filter replacement seemed easy enough...unscrew the old filter and screw in the new filter. I did this in the evening and at the time everything seemed ok. I woke up the next morning and my kitchen AND Basement was flooded. Several thousands of dollars in damage. When I removed the new filter I installed I could tell the water was dripping from the plunger/nozzle on the filter housing. Not enough to give any warning at the time of the replacement of the filter. As evident with the numerous bad reviews there seems to be a design flaw or just plain bad engineering with the filtration system. I would highly recommend staying away from Samsung Refrigerators.

i love my refrigerator. great design and function. the old design of water filter worked very well. i purchased a new one and installed it. it had a different fit and was hard to get in. the carafe would fill an inch at a time and the dispenser would stop and not work. i went to the trouble shooting samsung site and figured out it was the filter. i removed the filter and everything is working. i check the filter area for leakage but have not found anything. is the old filter coming back? i give 5 stars to my fridge and 0 stars for the new filter.

my fridge model, rs22t5201sr/aa, needs a "for use in system da97-08006c-a" (that "a" at the end is very important!). when changing the filter last night i noticed that the box stated the correct "for use in system" product #, but the actual filter did not have the a at the end of the #. it appears that it makes a 100% difference as to whether or not you'll have a huge puddle of water on your floor after a filter replacement. more like a warehouse packaging issue- since the product in the box was not what was listed on the factory packaging.

We have a Samsung fridge and I like the built-in water feature. What I really like about this is the water filter helps the water to taste better so I don’t notice any chlorine taste or have any sediment in my water. This filter was a little tricky to figure out how to change initially but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty easy to twist and remove the old one and insert the new one. I don’t quite know how it works, but it does work well and the water comes out clear and tasteless. Best to use the name brand one for easy replacement.

The installation of the filter was incredibly simple, insert and turn! It took a little bit of muscle because there’s a seal with the fridge, but super simple process. Our water quality always tastes cleaner after a fresh filter is installed, the water tastes less mineralized than water straight from the tap unfiltered. In an effort to cut down on microplastics, such a one time use water bottles, my family has been drinking filtered fridge water for several years now. We like the cold filtered water taste and we even cook with the filtered fridge water. Our ice quality also tastes better with a fresh filter versus one that we’ve had installed for a few months. I have a very happy with the Samsung water filter so far. My entire family drinks the water from the refrigerator every day because it tastes so much better than tapwater. My wife, especially like it because there are chemicals in the water. In regards to the installation, it is so much easier than any refrigerator I’ve had before. Swapping out the fridge water filter matters more than most people think, and I'd say sticking with the OEM one is a must. Installing it was easy: just unscrew the old one and twist the new one in. It fits snug with no leaks, which can be a problem with off-brand filters. The water tasted better right away, with no weird smell or funky aftertaste. I did run the first couple of jugs of water through and toss them to flush out any residue, which is totally normal. The instructions were clear too. I'd definitely buy this again.

I bought the genuine replacement filter for my Samsung Bespoke 4 door flex fridge when the bought the appliance 6 months ago. As soon as the fridge told me to replace the filter, I did so. What a mess! It leaked everywhere. Then I looked here and saw that this is an ongoing issue. Has Samsung fixed this since I bought the filter? Not only did I purchase the Bespoke fridge, I also purchased the matching range and microwave at the same time. Is this really how you treat customers? What is the fix for these defective filters?

I received the Haf-Qin Samsung water filter as I have a Samsung refrigerator. This filter does a fantastic job filtering the tap water as I can't stand the taste without it. The ice it makes through the filter is so good and tasty. My app tells me when the filter is ready to be changed. It is so easy to change the filter out. Just turn to unlock and pull out and slide the new one in and twist to lock. It is recommended to run about a gallon or so of water through it, then it's good to go for about 6 months.

This water filter is what I needed. I use it for my new Samsung fridge. I love that the fridge itself has a filtered water pitcher in which I have to replace the filter to keep getting that good water. I love ice as well so to know that due to this filter I can eat my ice with ease. The filter itself is compact and easy to install when it needs to be replaced. I’ve been very happy with this genuine Samsung water filter. The OEM quality is excellent, and it fits perfectly without any issues or leaks. My current filter has not yet run out so I will keep this one as a backup for when it does. That having been said, I did test it and it pops right in and locks in place super-easily. It filters the incoming water for your water dispenser and ice maker. Having fresh, clean water and ice is super convenient. I'm always going to the water dispenser on the fridge when I want water to drink because I know it will taste better than tap water. I had no issues with leaking, or weird taste, or trouble installing. It just works.

i have installed two genuine samsung replacement water filters in the last two weeks and have experienced water leakage both times. fortunately, i discovered the first water leak of several gallons before it could do damage. once the filter is inserted and locked into place, i hear a continuous hissing sound and then water sprays down inside of the refrigerator through the middle drawer and into the freezer and down to the pan on the bottom of the unit. when i reinstall the old filter, the hissing and water leakage does not occur. up until now, i have never experienced this problem and i have owned and maintained this refrigerator, model number rf23m8070sr/aa for over two years. i am extremely disappointed in a possible water damage problem with no apparent solution.

i have the 4-door flexzone fridge, rf24r7201sr, manf oct '20, came with haf-qin-exp filter (says replacement filter is da97-17376b, for use in system da97-08006c). replacement filter matched but said for use in system da97-08006c-a. oddly, the orange store sells this same filter but has haf-qins-exp on the package (but filter itself says haf-qin-exp). samsung support couldn't explain the differences so -1 star. i turned off the main water supply and let out some water from the fridge to relieve the pressure, removed the old filter, following suggestions here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/tsg01109722/ installed new filter turning a few times before it seated but seemed to fit ok. ran about 5 gals through after, everything seems good, no leaks or issues.

I've replaced other brands without trouble. This one leaked after putting the filter back in (inspected it for a proper part number, which isn't readily available even with "smart" things. Filter end is square, hole is round (not a fantastic idea). Filter doesn't go in smoothly, took several tries. Drip tray should clearly indicate whether it's required or not (and a label... even a picture .. would be good. We have an oven also and there are some strange design choices on that, will save for another time.

I received it a few days ago and installed it in the refrigerator. The installation was easy to do. I had no issues with it. I tried many cups of water from the refrigerator dispenser on the door. The filter does what it's supposed to do. Water and ice come out tasting crisp and clean with no weird plastic or chemical aftertaste, and it fitted right in my water filter slot without any leaks or wrestling with the fridge. Flow rate is solid too. I just knocked off one star purely because of the price tag of the genuine OEM filters. I sometimes buy cheaper filters that work the same way. But this was very easy to install but just sliding in and locking which was great and required little directions.

The water filter is so hard to get on. I just replaced mine a month ago left for work on Friday came home after 9hrs to find i has w inches of water in my kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and living room. I have water damage to everything carpet has to be replaced and cabinets and since it was the weekend have to wait till Monday for insurance and hope they will cover it. I am scared to leave to house now. O yea not mention my neighbor also have water damage. This all had to do with the water filter.

we bought this filter from samsung after doing some research. there are a lot of 3rd parties provide same model filter, but some of them has fitting and leaking issue, so we decide to buy the original samsung one to avoid problem. but we are wrong!!! this water filer doesn't fit our samsung fridge perfectly even it's same mode.it won't go all the way in after install the new filter. we don't have the leak problem so far, but it just does't give us the original feel. it's a bit disappointment.

The Samsung HAF-QIN Refrigerator Water Filter is so easy to install, anyone can do it. Just make sure you know how to shut off the water valve behind the fridge as this will cut off the pressure, making it easy to remove the old filter. Where I live, the water quality is bad. It is highly chlorinated and filled with different minerals, requiring the need to have filtered water for consumption. This Samsung filter does just that and goes a step further by removing 40 different contaminants in the drinking water dispensed from my fridge. The water tastes really fresh and I can't detect any chlorine or other minerals in it. I recommend sticking with the authentic Samsung filter as it is designed to fit perfectly into the filter housing unit, ensuring a tight seal to prevent leaks. You won't regret purchasing this!

This water filter literally took me less than 30 seconds to install. I removed the old one with a twist and inserted the new one. Just takes a twist with the knob to get it locked. This is much better and easier than my old fridge, that required a screwdriver to remove the housing for the water filter to install a new one and it leaked often during replacement. No leaks with this one. Even after a few days of use, I don't see any leaks. Initially the water came out cloudy. However, I ran through a few glasses of water and it started coming out clear. The taste was fresh and pure for both the water and the ice. While the standalone water filter for my fridge from Samsung is quite a bit more expensive than generic ones, they last almost 6 months and are worth piece of mind knowing my water is clean.

There were several complaints about leaks, but to me, this filter change was really easy compared to other appliances. I just followed the directions - which is not super convenient but worked. Shut off the water Drain the water line through the dispenser Rotate the filter counter-clockwise, 180 degrees Remove filter Insert new filter Push in while rotating 180 degrees clock-wise Slowly open the valve and refill the line Run some water through the dispenser and throw out. All done.

This water filter works very well and was easy to change. I was just twisting it in to install it and twisting it out to remove. However, I realized afterwards that I also have a tap connection to my tap water filter, so I didn’t need to get this replaced so often as stated by the manufacturer. So I thought it was kind of expensive for the limited amount of time used as suggested by the manufacturer. But it made my water taste clean, and I got a sense of piece that my water is pure.

This was my first time changing the water filter, and it was quick and easy. I just opened the box, removed the cap, opened the fridge, twisted the old filter to remove it, and installed the new one. Just make sure you change it quickly, otherwise some water may spill inside the fridge. I’ve been using the new filter for a while now, and the water definitely tastes better. I would recommend always buying the original Samsung filter to help protect your fridge and filtration system.
