I've replaced other brands without trouble. This one leaked after putting the filter back in (inspected it for a proper part number, which isn't readily available even with "smart" things. Filter end is square, hole is round (not a fantastic idea). Filter doesn't go in smoothly, took several tries. Drip tray should clearly indicate whether it's required or not (and a label... even a picture .. would be good. We have an oven also and there are some strange design choices on that, will save for another time.

I didn’t read the reviews before removing my original filter to make sure I ordered the correct replacement. When I tried to reinsert like instructions for inserting a new one until my new cartridge came, it hissed and leaked all in my drawers. I am terrified to leave it without my frig flooding! I just left it out and hope I can make ice since I had to reset my ice maker! I have no confidence that a new filter will work bc I should be able to stick my original one in as a placeholder. I have been referring everyone to your product but can’t in good conscience anymore bc if this major defect! Help! What are my options!? Very disappointed.

Hi There, Let's check all possible solutions to replace your water filter easily. Your water filter can be changed quickly and should only take a few minutes. Please follow these steps. 1. First, turn off the water supply and then locate the filter. Please consult your user manual if you need help finding where it is. 2. Open the water filter cover and rotate the old filter counterclockwise to unlock it. 3. Then, pull it straight out to remove it from the filter housing. 4. To insert the new filter, first, remove the protection cap from the top of the filter. Then, push it straight into the filter housing and turn it clockwise. 5. i seem to disagree with the other reviewers. i followed the instructions, but the filer was very difficult to remove, so the first time i called samsung's help line to see if it was ok to remove with a pliers. they said "yes". i removed and reinstalled with no problem. we drink a lot of water, so i knew the filer wasn't going to last 6 months; it lasted about 3-3 1/2. our house has a whole house filter on it anyway, but this filter seems to make the water taste cleaner. even the cats prefer water from the refrigerator than the tap! i usually order two filters at a time, in case they are on back order. this will be my third filter. i have no complaints!

I held off on buying these for a year or two because of the reviews. Haha. May have been a first timers luck, but I had no issue installing it in my 4 door, 28cu, smart hub fridge. No leaks or anything unusual rather than water sputtering out of water dispenser for a few seconds as it adjusted to the new filter. I didn't turn off my water (tough to get to without scratching my tile floors), but just gently turned the water filter into place until it caught and went in. Had to do an extra rotation at first since it didn't seem aligned, but eventually went in, no problem. Best of luck! Hopefully my luck continues... haha

i purchased the exact genuine samsung water filter, haf-qin/exp, for my 3-month old refrigerator. new filter does not fit. with calipers, i measured the dimensions of the plastic catch (showing mechanical conflict) and catch is thicker on the new filter (batch code a8441) than the original filter (batch code b0431). very disappointing quality issue for an expensive new refrigerator. from other comments, i see this is a known issue to samsung. the link i see on some comments, which is supposed to help you install new filter does not work either. why hasn't this issue been resolved by recalling defective filters?

I bought samsung bespoke fridge, and then I got this filter for modelDA97-08006C-A. I have the DA97-17376B replacement filter. I am pregnant and I thought this filtered lead. I can't find the performance data sheet anywhere for this. I relied on this filter to filter lead because it had the NSF label. I bought a genuine one. Where is your performance safety data sheet for this? If you can't provide that to me, then basically I was duped by shady marketing. If you need a filter to filter lead, I advise anyone to do their research as it seems this product is duping people into thinking it filters lead.

Super, hab meinen Kühlschrank geflutet. Der untere Teil ist jetzt sehr sauber. Aber ernsthaft, da hätte es doch sicher eine bessere Lösung geben können wie der Filter eingesetzt wird. Keine Möglichkeit direkt zu sehen wie gut er sitzt und da es mein erster Tausch war dachte ich die verdächtigen Geräusche sind normal. Das Einsetzen selbst war nur mit viel Glück möglich und sehr fummelig da er nicht direkt rein passte. Wollte auch nichts kaputt machen indem ich zu sehr drücke. Eine halbe Stunde später lief ein Wasserfall aus dem Kühlschrank als wir die Tür geöffnet haben. Beim zweiten Versuch hat dann alles geklappt. Wasser schmeckt gut, seinen Sinn erfüllt der Filter wenn er einmal richtig sitzt.

i put the filter in and that fit fine. i went to reset the filter light - hold reset button 3 sec. nothing, it will not reset. text support said: ?unplug it (or turn off power at the circuit breaker), wait some time for the electrical charge to clear out of it (usually 1 to 5 minutes at most), and then power it up again." that does not seem right. i have to pull the refrigerator out and unplug.? really after chatting the rep said to hit the lock button for 3 seconds. ok i tried hitting the lock button and then hitting reset. guess what that worked. remember to hit lock again. the owner manual should have stated this and not waste my time researching the issue and going through the chat. at least that worked.

we have had our fridge for about 8 months. bought this replacement filter in dec. now in january we notice that the water coming out of the filter is leaving a white residue behind. our tap water is not doing this. only from this filter. spent 40 minutes trying to get support and just kept getting passed around to extensions. guess i have to pay for a new genuine filter and hope i get a good one. can't get support on this one from the company. its past 15 days for a return so stuck. i'll be sure to test the new one and return at any sign of residue. buyer beware.

We got our fridge going on five years now. Loved it, still love it though the doors are not closing as smoothly and need a little help getting shut, handles are starting to creak or fittings are a little loose, the deodorizer is a little less optimal. My main disappointment is in the sustainability of everyday use, namely the water filter. How does Samsung build an awesome overall product without considering the long term environmental effects of their disposal accessories ? I don't get why the water filter does not come with some type of recycling guidance, even if just for the hard outside plastic. I totally understand that the water filter is very particular in nature, but can't a solution be sought other than landfill ?

It filters out all the bad stuff you don't want in your water with ease. It is compatible with many of the Samsung refrigerators so it makes replacement so easy. It is super easy to replace the old filter and does not require using any special tools or expertise. Made of high quality materials so you know it will be reliable. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This filter was exactly what I needed for my refrigerator. It fit perfectly and was very easy to install. Water tastes clean and fresh. I know there is a ton of copies out there, but I always feel it is a safe bet going with the original from the manufacturer. No complaints so far, and none to be expected. PRO TIP: Make sure that you turn off your water line so that you have a clean installation and avoid any mess. Leaving water behind in the filter area will cause mold to grow and you will be very unhappy the next time you have to replace your filter.

i love my refrigerator. great design and function. the old design of water filter worked very well. i purchased a new one and installed it. it had a different fit and was hard to get in. the carafe would fill an inch at a time and the dispenser would stop and not work. i went to the trouble shooting samsung site and figured out it was the filter. i removed the filter and everything is working. i check the filter area for leakage but have not found anything. is the old filter coming back? i give 5 stars to my fridge and 0 stars for the new filter.

I purchased a genuine replacement filter using the Samsung Subscription Service. The filter replacement seemed easy enough...unscrew the old filter and screw in the new filter. I did this in the evening and at the time everything seemed ok. I woke up the next morning and my kitchen AND Basement was flooded. Several thousands of dollars in damage. When I removed the new filter I installed I could tell the water was dripping from the plunger/nozzle on the filter housing. Not enough to give any warning at the time of the replacement of the filter. As evident with the numerous bad reviews there seems to be a design flaw or just plain bad engineering with the filtration system. I would highly recommend staying away from Samsung Refrigerators.

my fridge model, rs22t5201sr/aa, needs a "for use in system da97-08006c-a" (that "a" at the end is very important!). when changing the filter last night i noticed that the box stated the correct "for use in system" product #, but the actual filter did not have the a at the end of the #. it appears that it makes a 100% difference as to whether or not you'll have a huge puddle of water on your floor after a filter replacement. more like a warehouse packaging issue- since the product in the box was not what was listed on the factory packaging.

I bought the genuine replacement filter for my Samsung Bespoke 4 door flex fridge when the bought the appliance 6 months ago. As soon as the fridge told me to replace the filter, I did so. What a mess! It leaked everywhere. Then I looked here and saw that this is an ongoing issue. Has Samsung fixed this since I bought the filter? Not only did I purchase the Bespoke fridge, I also purchased the matching range and microwave at the same time. Is this really how you treat customers? What is the fix for these defective filters?

i have installed two genuine samsung replacement water filters in the last two weeks and have experienced water leakage both times. fortunately, i discovered the first water leak of several gallons before it could do damage. once the filter is inserted and locked into place, i hear a continuous hissing sound and then water sprays down inside of the refrigerator through the middle drawer and into the freezer and down to the pan on the bottom of the unit. when i reinstall the old filter, the hissing and water leakage does not occur. up until now, i have never experienced this problem and i have owned and maintained this refrigerator, model number rf23m8070sr/aa for over two years. i am extremely disappointed in a possible water damage problem with no apparent solution.

i have the 4-door flexzone fridge, rf24r7201sr, manf oct '20, came with haf-qin-exp filter (says replacement filter is da97-17376b, for use in system da97-08006c). replacement filter matched but said for use in system da97-08006c-a. oddly, the orange store sells this same filter but has haf-qins-exp on the package (but filter itself says haf-qin-exp). samsung support couldn't explain the differences so -1 star. i turned off the main water supply and let out some water from the fridge to relieve the pressure, removed the old filter, following suggestions here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/tsg01109722/ installed new filter turning a few times before it seated but seemed to fit ok. ran about 5 gals through after, everything seems good, no leaks or issues.

The water filter is so hard to get on. I just replaced mine a month ago left for work on Friday came home after 9hrs to find i has w inches of water in my kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and living room. I have water damage to everything carpet has to be replaced and cabinets and since it was the weekend have to wait till Monday for insurance and hope they will cover it. There were several complaints about leaks, but to me, this filter change was really easy compared to other appliances. I just followed the directions - which is not super convenient but worked. Shut off the water Drain the water line through the dispenser Rotate the filter counter-clockwise, 180 degrees Remove filter Insert new filter Push in while rotating 180 degrees clock-wise Slowly open the valve and refill the line Run some water through the dispenser and throw out. All done.

I am typing this with fully bandaged hands as you made the plastic impossible to come apart and now I have lost several layers of skin on my hands. I now require assistance doing simple household tasks like using a fork or using the restroom. Just bought a Samsung refrigerator . Ran over a gallon of water through the system. I tested the water from the fridge and got 154 PPM. I tested the water from the tap and it was 171 PPM. Apparently it doesn’t filter out a lot of chemicals. I had a Zero Water that I discarded because the fridge had a filter. That was a mistake. There is no listing of the filter’s efficacy. I wonder why! Will have to install a filtration system prior to connecting to the fridge.

I have pulled my filter apart and it wasnt blocked....its timer set not performance based. Plus what the heck samsung, charging a small fortune for the fridge and then a whopping $ price for upkeep on the filters... I think its scandalous and had i known what i knew now. I would have gone miele or liehberr. Lesson learnt, this is my last samsung product.... TVs glitchy... gone to apple with the phone and all my house products are miele now... except this abomination.

This is my 2nd time replacing the filter on my fridge. Woke up the next morning to my kitchen flooring completely soaked. I've done everything I know to do to this filter and its still leaking. We feel great about this purchase. Buying the 4 pack has us covered for a couple years, and it saved a lot of money. We ordered the filters on Tuesday and they arrived on Wednesday! The package comes with a method to verify that the filters are genuine, which I appreciate. Changing the filter was relatively painless. Taking the old one out was a little difficult but the new one went in no problem and i haven't noticed and leaking or other issues.

I always buy Samsung genuine filters. I know you are fighting thefts but at what expense. Honestly I have to work hard to get the filter out of the packaging. The plastic is so hard and no way to open it so I have to cut open the packaging which creates sharp edges and points. Honestly, this is at best dangerous. Like another person in the reviews below, I bought this fridge around 2 years ago and it looks from this page that samsung have discontinued the filter and left with no replacement. Your ice or water dispenser will not work without a filter replacement every 6 months. My advice find a brand with more universal fittings for water filters because Samsung will corner you into buying a huge expensive fridge that will only last 2 years.

This filter will not work with the Bespoke french door fridge. EVERY time I've replaced it, the filter housing breaks. I'm awaiting the cost and service appointment since it is now outside the one year warrant. I cannot believe Samsung is not standing behind this awful product. User beware. If you have a Bespoke french door fridge with beverage center, you're likely to break your fridge replacing with the EXACT same filter.

This filter and refill is a joke. The performance data sheet isn't provided. If it doesn't remove toxic chemicals, then there is no purpose. I live in the Midwest. I tested our city water and it is not anything I would drink. I never let my kids drink. For years I bought bottled water. The filter is very hard to unscrew from the refrigerator. There is no way to unscrew it with your hand. The small handle slipped out of my hand. I had to get a 12 inch pair of pliers to grip it tight enough to remove and just as bad to reinstall. The water was off and the pressure released. I believe the refrigerator has a defective receptacle for the filter. I even coated the o-rings with rubber lube.

When resetting the filter light, you must hold the unlock button FIRST for 3 seconds. The Samsung manual doesn't explain that. I found a YouTube and he explained it which made it simple. One little detail and much wasted time and aggravation could have been avoided. After you unlock, hold the reset filter button for 3 seconds. It will reset. Then hit the lock button again for 3 seconds to relock.

After reading the long "How NOT TO have it LEAK" review I grew a pair and went for it. The original came out easily. The new one leaked even though I gently pushed it in while turning it to lock. Then.... I shut off the water line to my refrigerator with the small ball valve behind the refrigerator, installed the filter the same way but without any resistance and turned the water back on. No leaks.

The Watts version of the filter was clearly designed by someone with no spacial physics knowledge. The 'finger friendly' curved grip gives you no leverage to turn it once it's halfway to the vertical position unless your wrist is double jointed. I can't even give the rest of the product any time for this review..when I had to use additional tools to twist the mechanism all the way.

I have never had a filter so hard to install. My filter has leaked since the day we bought the refrigerator. I decided to check to see if the filter was installed correctly. very happy replacement filters are readily available for our Samsung refrigerator. What would be best is to change the product packing from hard plastic to a paper based package. The hard plastic is very hard to remove and when cut to release the filter the plastic edges are extremely sharp and cause cuts.

Both filters have the same numbers on them, HAF-QIN/EXP, I bought a three pack, I tried another one and will not work either. So frustrating.

Bought a 3 pack and installed it 1 week ago. I`ve read lots of the reviews here and was curious why the ratings were not higher. The main issue most reviews had were about hissing noise and leaking. One reviewer though gave me hope as to how to properly install the filter without any issues. I purchased and installed and WHAMMO, LEAKS!!!! However just to be clear , i was in a rush , forgot what the one reviewer said and did a lazy ,rushed job. Heres the take away. Turn off the water to the refrigerator before installing the new filter. If you install the filter without doing so, then most likely your guaranteed to flood the kitchen in 15-30 minutes . The filter will not make a secure seal if you try installing with the water pressure still up. If you first shut off water and the then release any execess water from the fridge, it should be smooth sailing . Great product but alot of unfair reveiws. Maybe a better user guide would have helped . God bless and i hope this helps others.

When the filter light came on for the first time, I took the existing filter out to get the correct number. At the time it seemed faster than hunting down the manual. The filter was very difficult to take out, and put back in. We finally managed to muscle it back in. This should have been our first clue we had not done something correctly. Within a few minutes of walking away, and thinking the filter was properly re-installed, water was running onto the floor. Thank goodness we were home to pull the filter back out, which stopped the leak. What a mess! The two bins beside the filter and the flex bin in the middle drawer had to come out so we could reach to remove all the water pooled inside. OUR RESOLUTION TO STOP THE LEAK? Turn the water off and drain the line to release pressure. Filter went back in without any problems and no leaking when water was turned back on. I had trouble resetting thee filter light. Tried holding reset 3 sec but never went off. Then I pressed the water/ice lock button and then held filter reset 3sec and light went off. Your instructions should be clearer and step by step.

I compared tap water and filtered water using a TDS meter. Tap water measured 122 ppm and filtered water 130 ppm. Based on these results, I couldn’t see any improvement with the filter, since the mineral levels were basically the same.

We just purchased this water filter the taste unpleasant. The water has an unpleasant after taste. We had purchased the blue label in the past. I will have send back the unused filter and replace it with blue label water filter.
