Perfect SSD at a great price. For years I have been using a 500gb ssd. Over the years, video games have grown in file size exponentially. 10 years ago, a full game would take up 10-20gb, but these days, a single game is using 200+ so the 500gb ssd wasn’t cutting it anymore. I got sick of constantly deleting and redownloading whatever games I wanted to play at that time so I upgraded to 4tb This thing is both big and fast, on such a small card! I experience absolutely 0 latency, it loads everything ultra fast. After having an ssd, I will NEVER go back to hdd. This has all of the benefits of ssd for a price that won’t break the bank and Samsung quality is a force to be reckon with!

I’ve been using this drive for a couple months now in an external enclosure and it’s outperformed any previous drives I’ve owned in this use case. If you’re looking for a solid alternative to cheap platter drives the 4TB 870 EVO is your answer! I get 550/525MB/s read and write speeds in the enclosure meaning zero performance loss. If someone were to ask for a recommendation on a high performance SSD with capacity as high as 4TB I’d absolutely recommend this drive! I have, for the curious nerd in me, tested this drive as an external boot drive. It performed as if it were connected via internal SATA.

These type of SSD's are the only brand/type of memory storage device hat I use while running my plex media server. Every previous spinning hard disk drive that I have ever owned has failed and lost memory. Even the few actual solid state drives that were not made by Samsung eventually died on me. Years later after having built this media server the only working drives left are all SSD's and all made by Samsung. Haven't failed me yet so no point trying to fix or change something that's not broken. I run about 12 samsung SSD's ranging from about 2TB - 4TB each. Not to mention the search and loading times I can pull off becuase of these, still has my friends feeling jealous. compared to their systems.

I bought this drive one month ago and installed my 4 TB 870 Evo SATA it in my Puget Systems Lightroom workstation. The key was to select GPT for my partition table when formatting the drive. When completed, the drive had 3.6 TB of usable space. I then used SAMSUNG MAGICIAN to optimize its performance to achieve write and read speeds over 1200 MB/second. I use the drive to store the 25,000 photo raw files for Lightroom. It more that doubled the performance of the 2 TB Western Digital hard drive I was using before. I'm very pleased with my new Samsung 870 EVO SATA SSD!

I have 4 samsung internal ssds, 1 nvme. My oldest is a 850 evoo 500g that would boot my pc in under 3seconds and after almost 10 years has never seen a failure from heavy use. My new 970s and 870s are even more insanely fast. I work alot with adobe and data and am a hobbiest photographer which means i use memory alot, from cards to ssds to usb drives im constantly uploading and offloading and am oldschool so don't really use clouds. I've bought a few other brands but none have performed as well as Samsung and their reliability has be convinced to never switch.

I wanted more storage in my older MacBook pro and I installed this Evo 870 sata 2.5" SATA 4tb drive. It was very easy following a video on you tube. Within 20 min I was up and running with my old 500gb hdd removed booted up my MacBook pro and it was like a brand new laptop. Within seconds it was fully booted , unlike the slow HDD that was in there before. This new SSD was amazingly fast . I'm aware now but if I had known how fast it would make my laptop I would have done this years ago.

We replaced four (4) standard mechanical hard drives with 9100 Pro SSD's after a horrible crash in one of our business NAS units. The leap in performance was nothing short of spectacular. These SSD's ran much cooler than hard drives so it was really a win/win for us. After upgrading the NAS, I ordered one for my personal system, an Alienware. The read performance as well as the seek performance almost made it like a new system compared to the 2 TB drive that was in there. It was nice to see the extra space that was so needed with today's ultra high resolution games. All this and the price couldn't be beat. All around it was an easy upgrade using Samsung's software to migrate the software from one drive to the new SSD. We have one more NAS that will need upgrading and and I still have 2 more open ports to use on the Alienware, so the only drives I'll trust now are Samsungs.

Device is failing after only 10.1 TBW. It is rated for 2,400 TBW. Luckily I was able to recover many corrupted files from a backup. SMART data confirms 566 bad blocks and over 10,000 unrecoverable failures. I've read that this model SSD sold in 2021 have known defects and are prone to early failure.

i bought this and ran some test but i think for some reasons my writing speed is too low its 380MB/S instead of it being around 530 and i benchmarked it with samsung magician and it had the same results!
