Does not track from even 1m away. Tested out both of the tags I bought, putting them in my car 6 metres outside front of my house, did not work until I moved a second samsung phone directly into the car and it finally detected the . Repeated this test and this time it was still saying the tags were in the house not the car, even when the tracking phone and the other phone were BOTH in the car. These are useless...do not buy. I am sceptical of the 5 star reviews, either there are major QC issues or they are fake. Happy with all other samsung products I've bought, so this is disappointing to be sold 2 useless little bricks

I’ve owned the SmartTag2 for about 6 months. It worked fine initially, but it has now developed a known hardware defect where it drains a brand-new battery in less than 24 hours. I have replaced the battery three times with high-quality cells, and the tag kills them within hours every single time. Even after a factory reset, the device remains in a high-power state. ​Samsung advertises 500+ days of battery life, but mine now lasts less than 1 day. This is a documented issue in the community forums. If yours starts dying fast, don't waste money on more batteries. The unit is internally defective. Very disappointed in the build quality for a premium tracker.

Been using since Tag 1 and now Tag 2, no more lost house keys and car keys. Have more than 10 tags in total. With the extra loop at the end of Tag 2, I can hook my keys to it. Looking forward to a slim version. Not sure why so many -ve reviews? This product is a life saver and I do hope Samsung continues to develop on this, despite all these negative reviews that doesn't seem to make sense. Just tested a few tags again just to make sure and they work. Only complaint is the find my tag sometimes receives strange "ghost signals" which detects a tag that isn't there. Not often but it does.

Works well for me for the past year or so. I have them in each of my kids cars, but they need to be in an external position such as inside the tail light etc or the metal door blocks them. Tracked my luggage well internationally. Kids driving around Hamilton, Auckland, Rotorua. They require nearby samsung phones to track, a major drawback.

Only had them for a few days. Concerned that someone stealing my car with SmartTag2 onboard will be able to pick up that they're being tracked, and then make it beep so they can locate it. Needs answers from Samsung (not publicly, but only available in paper instructions, and not online) if this is an issue, or how they stop it being an issue? If it has time delay before notifying thief, giving time to tag as lost, to avoid notifying thief? Who knows? Love the functionality. Need yet to test its reliability. Will do this week. Does every Samsung phone that gets close to it, collect location data from it, or only those with smart things loaded and option to "help" people track/locate turned on? Really needs more robust outer holder for robust dog collar. Don't want it to be a chew toy for another dog. Also active swimming/rough and tumble dogs might be a bit hard on it as it is. As they are with anything.

I have had no issues with my pair of SmartTag2. They connected easily and stay connected. The inner metal ring and new casing make buying a seperate tag holder unnecessary and the metal ring guards against wear and tear when on a key ring. And the battery life has been greatly improved since the first version of the Tag. I haven't needed to change the batteries yet and I've been using the SmartTag2's for about 4 months or so and the battery indicators show no sign of low batteries. I can't understand the negative reviews. I recommend this product.

I've owned one of each version so far and I'm pretty happy with this one. The original tag was fine but a bit bulky. The tag+ was horrible and went through batteries weekly! Truly horrible product. This new one is much better for battery life and design. I'm surprised that people are saying that it's not working for them. I've found that it tracks location very well. I've never had an issue finding my stuff. My only complaint is that i find the button a little too easy to press so it's often beeps when in my pocket.

After years of using Samsung Galaxy products, I was really looking forward to using these from my latest Android phone (which is a Pixel) but right away the SmartThings app shuts down attempts to recognize it by saying it requires a Galaxy phone. I have purchased SmartTag2 for testing in preparation for possibly more and I cannot even begin to use them. While the marketing text did say "works with..." it did not even hint that it unconditionally REQUIRES a Samsung Galaxy phone to be used. Very disappointed.

I jave a Samsung Galaxie S23. I bought the Smart tag 2 years ago and I am very disapointed. I have traveled to at least to 15 différent coutries (The Phillipine, Japan, Canada, Vietnam, Australia ,Mexico and 5 countries in Europe) and at least hlaf of the time the tag could not find my luggage. Many time I had my luggage with me and the tag was still showing my luggage at my departure airport so I am throwing this tag away and I am getting another tag from another cie

After reading all those bad reviews I still decided to give it a chance. Got one Tag 5 months ago as a tracker for my dog, had absolutely 0 issues, had it connected to the phone right away, firmware updated. Never disconnected, after 5 months everyday use still saying battery level is sufficient, tracking our walks almost everyday. Put it in special case for dogs and attached to the collar. Highly recommend for a dog owners.

I bought one Smarttag2 about 3 months ago. Initially I wanted to keep the tag on my dog's collar. But the battery died twice every 8-9 days. Now I am keeping the tag with my keys in the pocket and the battery is still going after 2 months. But sometimes I get a notification Smarttag2 is not in range when I have the phone in my hand and the keys in my pocket.

Skipped the first iteration of the SmartTag and jumped straight into this version. Very premium with the metal ring and a slightly weighty feel to it. Only minor downside is the limited capabilities of the programmable button right now. Hopefully Samsung will consider expanding it to control the phones as well, instead of just other SmartThings devices.

Would like to buy a bunch.. But they will not work on anything other that Samsung Galaxy. I purchase 2 original tags (in landfill now) and they wouldn't even work on Samsung Smarthings Hub. Says I must use a Samsung Galaxy phone. Samsung is going the way of Apple and their locked in Eco system.

I have the tag for some time but the location tracking is so inaccurate. I can literally have the tag next to me, refresh the location and it states the tag is in a completely different address from where I am. Defeats the object of what this is supposed to do

I cant use the compass and ar view in my phone because its my s25 doesnt support UWB which should be advertised and this is unacceptable as a flagship phone so I just wasted my money on a reguler smart tag with better battery

I replaced the battery and it works only about 1-2 months sometime only 2 weeks i bought 4 tags and got same problem with all. And samsung don't replaced the tag if got any problem

Although my Galaxy phone (AO3s) meets the spec show for this product I can't install the app to use the SmartTag2. Seems like misleading or deceptive marketing.

I've had one of these for just over a month now, and overall I've been pleased. My experience has not been entirely seamless, however. I've not had the experience other people have described regarding batteries depleating abnormally, but I have had my unit beep somewhat consistently without apparent cause. I've tried hard resetting the unit by holding the button down while inserting the battery, but the issue still happens periodically. I've also had the unit fail to finish its beep while using the battery supplied with the unit despite the readout showing sufficient battery level. The first issue seems to happen most often when I leave signal dead zones, so I'm not sure if it's indicative of reconnecting to the network. The second issue hasn't happened yet since replacing the battery with a new one a few weeks ago. All that said, the features otherwise work, even when these issues were occuring. The only real disappointment I've had is that I didn't realize until after I bought one that the AR camera location feature was not compatible with my S20+. I feel that the compatibility between various device models within the Galaxy family could have been a bit clearer in it's advertising. All that said, I would still recommend this product to anyone looking for a tracking device.
