After a friend visited my house with his widescreen monitor, I knew that I Finally wanted to upgrade to one. After a lot of research into everything between 27-42", the Samsung 34" Odyssey OLED G8 Curved WQHD Gaming Monitor was the absolute winner for me. I use a 4090 and the screen clarity is great. The colours are gorgeous and I have never seen such nice blacks on any screen ever. Loading screens are so easy on the eyes! The extra features with the monitor just add to the greatness of it, I can easily swap between my PC and many different apps via the Samsung SmartHub feature. The design is very sleek and ergonomic. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

The reason I only gave a 4 rating is due to the micro hdmi and mini displayport. I had to replace 1 monitor as hdmi and displayport wouldn't work. On replacement montior went through 6 cables and several adapaters to get to work. The usb-c slots wouldn't work either. I hope future models will offer full size hdmi and displayports. The other monitor worked fine. Thats the bad. The good. Monitors look fantastic out of the box. Games look breathtaking. Movies look fantastic. The size if great for productivity. I use mine for work and play and use hdmi for work and displayport for gaming and montior automatically switches between them. Highly recommend this monitor.

The colours are stunning, and coming from a 60Hz monitor, the high refresh rate and lightning quick response time really make a difference in fast paced e-sports titles. Flight and racing simulators really benefit from the wide screen and it's hard to put into words, but the curvature of the monitor paired with the wide display really immerse you into whatever title you are playing, filling up your peripheral vision and putting you right in the game. The light up rear feature of the panel is a bit tacky to me, and only really works well with watching videos as there's a bit of a delay and low refresh rate whilst playing games. It's not particularly bright either, so you really need to be in a dimly lit room to enjoy it.

I bought it a week before black friday as it was on sale and omg i love it. The picture quality is just spectacular. The colours really show, being oled the dark scenes in game and movies are so immersive. Other than picture quality it is quite responsive and the curved ultrawide which is hard to find is very nice. The thing that sucks is the fact that there are the smart features which just arent needed for a monitor. It could have been cheaper. If the smart technology wasnt present it would be a 5/5. Otherwise monitor is great and suits my needs

I bought the previous version that I can see is no longer available for review but I can honestly say that this is a magnificent monitor. You can fit 2 browser windows comfortably without scrolling and it makes it a really comfortable work pace. I am not a gamer so I can't comment on this but images and video are great. This new version has been upgraded because there were many complaints about the base but I overcame this with a bit of electrical tape to ensure that it fit snug on the base. Overall, I highly recommend this monitor as the curve is so good for your vision without distortion on the corners. It's extremely great for people wearing glasses like myself. I opted for a monitor with a brand I trust and Samsung has not disappointed.

When the model name has SEXXY on it, you should be ready for something special. I bought this as a replacement to my ageing acer monitor and did it meet my expectations? totally! and exceeded some of them as well. Most impressed with the OLED display. Top marks for sure. I love the metallic finish of the monitor and how it finishes right to the perimeter of the display. Feels so quality. And the TV features with the remote are a nice add on. This product is definitely one of Samsung's best that I have come across. Well done Samsung!

I bought this a few weeks ago, fantastic monitor! Never used OLED before and knew it was good but was blown away by it. Only gripe is the fact that its a TV still, I am not enjoying having to turn it on and off and the big blue screen that appears if I leave it without signal. If it just went to sleep without the big blue screen Id be happier but at the moment it makes me think my PC has crashed. Maybe theres a way to fix it, just haven't found out yet. If you want an OLED then get this one on sale, full price might not be worth it.

I've been using it for a month roughly and am pretty happy with it so far. Pretty impressed with the picture and quality... The only downside for me is the whole smart tv etc side of it.... I bought a oled gaming monitor to play games on.... I don't need/want the ability to use it as a smart tv.... In saying that, when I boot my pc I don't have to select a source or anything it just automatically selects display port by default which I'm happy with. The mini display port plug is another gripe, but I can deal with that.

Received this smart monitor about a month ago and so far have found it excellent. My only criticism is a slight chromatic abberation when viewing black text on a white background, but its very minor. Otherwise the colours pop, blacks are inky and the picture is bright and vivid. Great for gaming with 175Hz, great for movies/shows with awesome colours and sharp images. The curve is nice and gentle, not too much but just enough. Highly recommend this monitor to folks.

Almost there, overall perfect. Yet still there could be something done on the following: Built in Tizen system not well adapted to 21:9, contents from its apps utilise the full resolution though; monitor stand not really stable and solid; Core lighting could have higher brightness; my motherboard (Aorus b650) not picking up the output source correctly and debug lights on, after a few secs the monitor will still turn on but just a bit annoying and slow.

Bought this monitor to replace my daily driver and I use it for a mix of gaming, productivity and media consumption and it has been brilliant in all aspects! Initially I was annoyed with the inclusion of "mini" connections for DP and HDMi but the included DP cable + the USBC connection with power delivery more than make up for it. I picked it up for from the black friday and it is absolutely worth it, no hesitations recommending this model to anyone!

Absolutely blown away with the deep blacks and picture quality overall, the vibrnace that comes with this monitor and the very many setting you can change to fit your viewing pleasure is truly amazing, this will hands down be the best monitor i have owned, for the money and features this is 100% worth every cent, very Well done making this beast of technology. Had the monitor for 3 weeks and so far it's been amazing. The quality of it is incredible but i expect no less from an OLED monitor. The choice of MINI ports for display is interesting but not the worst to deal with. The ability to have the smart TV functions inside a monitor is nice but the overall functionality of the UI could've been designed for both TV and Monitor functions. Satisfied all-round with the purchase.

I bought this monitor about 4 months ago now and I haven't regretted it. The OLED is amazing and the ultra wide, something I was completely unsure about, is totally worth it for gaming. The only thing that would make this kick *** is being slightly taller in dimensions but that's just nit picking. When ever I want to watch something on netflix it also makes me want to upgrade my TV to OLED now also. sigh. :)

I recently upgraded my home computer system and, after some research, upgraded from my old flat screen monitor to a 34" Samsung Curved OLEG monitor. It's been a game changer for me with simple to follow assembly instructions and great features, the picture and data graphics are fantastic, I wish I had upgraded sooner. The screen is responsive to my needs and really compliments my new system.

Great for gaming and media content (Though be aware non-Ultrawide content is usually letterboxed) and handy for content creation, editing etc. Great contrast ratio, excellent colour rep. Refresh rate is decent for gaming. HDR is good. Doubles as a smart tv independent of PC connection. Remote control, voice assistance. Monitor is all class with very, very few drawbacks. Pricey but spicy.

Great system, the product seems to work well with most eco system. Though I would highly recommend having a true hdmi cable connection, and the remotes to have a better ecosystem to work with other Samsung products, as I have 2 other Samsung products : geo7 and projector that seems to interfere with each other if products are closely placed. The design are sleek and modern.

Amazing screen, I wouldn’t expect anything less from an Samsung OLED monitor. Games look crisp and clear. The design of the monitor, with its silver metal and plastics, scream premium. Added bonus of wifi and internet tv, courteous of Samsung TV, not to mention the ability to install apps, made the monitor the only choice for me.

I recently purchased this monitor and it has blown me away. OLED has deepest blacks and vibrant colours, I am going back and playing all my old games again because it’s a new experience with this monitor. I hadn’t used a curved monitor before but the curve isn’t too much and it adds to the immersion.

Great all round monitor. Only things I don't like was that I also bought a 32", and it was higher than the 34". I actually prefer the 32" due to the screen ratios. I also had to change the font scaling to 150% because recommended resolution was very hard to read. No problems doing so though.

Great monitor. Stack with discounts and sales to make it really good value for money. Pros: The OLED screen produces amazing colours and contrast. High refresh and low input latency means gaming feel awesome. Cons: Mini ports are an odd choice but they work. Would've liked to see a KVM.

Bought this monitor to link to a MacStudio for heavy photo and video editing. Great screen once we got the room lighting right behind us and also the right spec cable between the two. Screen seems to wake-up from tv mode rather than Pc mode though.

I bought this monitor less than 12 months ago through a PC dedicated retailer and I've experienced a blue verticle line. Dropped the monitor to the distributor as it is still under warranty but it has taken over 3 weeks for Samsung to respond eventhough I've explained I desperately need this monitor for work as my current laptop display is too small. Unfortunately, the distributor's hands are tied. They need to wait for Samsung to respond for tests/more tests/open the monitor for more test/ etc. The product is under 12 month old. It should have been replaced right away but it seems like Samsung wants to take its own sweet time to respond. Under ACCC, this product should have a 'reasonable longevitiy' for the price I've paid but in my case, i've got the dud and Samsung decide to drag it out instead of replacing the monitor. My recommendation - don't buy samsung monitor. If you encounter a fault like i did after 30 days / under 12mth, you'll be waiting in a LaLa Land as they won't replace it eventhough there is a general expectation that a product that costs this much would have a reasonable longevity.

I've owned this for a little over 1 month now and it's been a HUGE upgrade from my old monitor. I love it's sleek design and it's an OLED so the picture is fantastic. It's not without it's flaws though. Namely, the volume goes up by 1 randomly every so often, which is only a very minor problem. My monitor's main problem, and i've read that it's not uncommon for this monitor, is that it occasionally has a multicolored flashing line about 1 pixel high right across the very bottom of the screen. I've thought about returning the monitor because of this. I've read what is ultimately confusing reasons as to why this happens. Some say it's the cable used, some say it's the monitor, some say it's a problem with Windows HDR. Because it uses mini DP/HDMI ports i don't have spare cables to test the cable, and if it's a Windows HDR problem getting another monitor won't fix it, so i'm just keeping the monitor. Hopefully there will be an update, either to the monitors firmware, or to Windows, that will fix the problem. It's doesn't happen very often and re-plugging the cable used fixes it. Inconvienient and disappointing to be sure, for me it's not a deal breaker though.

I have been dealing with this monitor for about 5 months. It's a good looking picture, with best in class visuals, but the OSD choices they have made are truly frustrating. It has a version of software on board which appears to be more aimed at a TV, with about 90% of the functionality aimed at Free-To-Air streaming services, or paid services such as netflix. The menu is similar to that of a TV, in which the concept of an application is far more prevalent in the UI than is an input selection. The input selection process is something I need to do regularly, as someone who is using the same monitor for two different PC inputs. This is an absolute pain to do - it involves using a nubbin-style button to press in, select an input, and press in once more - but if the incorrect direction input is accidentally chosen (up/down/left/right as opposed to directly in - think clicking in a thumbstick on a controller), the only consistent mechanism of changing the input is to find the remote, and use that instead - or reboot the monitor. It's laggy, and awful - a great screen absolutely ruined by horrid software choices. I would definitely avoid this product, and is far too expensive for such a crappy user experience; this is the tier of experience I would expect from an off-brand such as Hisense, but certainly not someone like Samsung.

After using the Odyssey OLED G8 for the past three months, I can confidently say this is one of the best gaming monitors I've ever owned. The sharp OLED screen brings out details that are crucial for editing, especially in color grading and precision tasks. Plus, the beautiful OLED display makes long work hours easier on the eyes. However, I do have a couple of constructive critiques. The biggest downside is the lack of an HDMI port, which feels like a significant omission for a monitor in this price range. Many gaming consoles and external devices still rely heavily on HDMI, so it limits the versatility of this monitor. The inclusion of more common ports would make it much easier to use with a wider variety of setups. While the rare display output ports like Mini DisplayPort and USB-C are great for high-end PC gamers, they aren't as universal, which might require additional adapters or cables for some users. Overall, the Odyssey OLED G8 delivers an incredible visual and gaming experience with its gorgeous OLED display, sleek design, and intuitive built-in OS. If you can work around the port limitations, it's an exceptional piece of tech for gaming enthusiasts and content consumers alike. It is a bargain and worth the money invested.
