If this is the best soundbar out there, then I’d hate to hear the others. Frankly given all the rave reviews, the performance is underwhelming. - with atmos soundtracks it can sound impressive, you have to have the volume so high that it’s impractical - with the volume at sensible levels, it just sounds flat - to get decent dialog clarify, you need to turn the volume up high, but even if you turn up the centre channel level, the surround effects are too loud - stereo separation for music is non-existent (unless you turn on a surround mode, but then it just sounds odd) - my ancient 4.0 (centre is broken) system sounds better

My first home theater but also works great with music.. as long as the standard sound mode keeps playing stereo. But the adaptive sound mode (once tweaked to your seating position) and you listnen to music like edm, house and live music is AWESOME. Immersion totally!!!!! But again for example rock and rap music is not good in adaptive mode, sound chaotic, so therefore the standard mode sound mode (stereo mode) is extremely important. Which lucily is there:) So ABSOLUTELY fantastic with movies and music. Design is neutral minimalistic, so 13 in a dozen kinda boring looking again a black soundbar. Different colors and grills would be good upgrade!

I had the Q950A last year, and saw when the Q990B was announced. I was unsure about upgrading at first. Then I saw they finally put the screen back where it should be and the fabric has gone! The sound quality is brilliant, clear, concise and very powerful. The sub woofer is a huge improvement, impactful and reacts the scenes really well. The 3D bubble has improved a lot, you can hear individual sounds clearly and is a noticeable improvement from the Q950a. By far the best soundbar out there and I’ve been through quite a few to notice the difference. Must buy for anyone looking for a cinema style sound system!

We upgraded to this from a Samsung Q800B which we where not happy with and returned and bought this a bit more than we wanted to pay but wow what a difference The Dolby Atmos with the rear speakers up is amazing Everest was the first film we watched and we where literally (excuse the pun) blown away with the sound. One peculiarity since we have started using it though is when first switching on watching normal tv for some reason for a few minutes the screen goes blank but then comes back on can do this a few times but then settles down all very strange. Any techys out there have any ideas ?

This soundbar have really good sound quality. However there are disconnection issues with the left rear speaker. While watching movies it can suddenly get disconnected and keeps blinking blue light.. In a day it can randomly disconnects few times which is very annoying. I had to perform manual connection inorder to make it work again.. I believe its either hardware or software issues with the left rear transmitter.. Many users in Korea who bought this soundbar had also encountered the exact same issue. Samsung really needs to address this servere issue.

Have just purchased this and have to say it is a waste of money, you do not get any Dolby Atmos effects as the rear speakers are virtually silent (despite being turned up to max). The soundbar shows playing Dolby Atmos but sound only comes from the front soundbar, except for one clip in Top Gun when you did get the sound of a plane moving front to back but no immersive sound, in fact the TV speakers are better than this.

Very nice soundbar and this thing goes very very loud! It's also very detailed on quiet volumes which a lot of competitors fail at. Sound bubble and Atmos is very good with the sound stage very wide and the heights performing well if you don't have mega high ceilings. Would love for Samsung to allow two extra speakers like the rears to also be added onto the front to make the sound stage even wider.

I have had this soundbar for 4 months now and I am really impressed with it. I have had several good mid range AV receiver & speaker setups (my last being a 7.1 arrangement) that have sounded great but this is the best home cinema set up I have ever had. The way it moves sound around the room is spectacular and creates a very immersive sound field and the system truly gets into it's stride when playing to a proper Dolby Atmos soundtrack, I was so taken aback at how effective the height and overhead effects were, The Batman is a great movie to demonstrate how good the Q990b is. I'll admit I had some trepidation when buying about some of the issues people had had with the satellites not connecting but I haven't had any such issues and all 3 satellite speakers have connected instantly every time the soundbar is switched on. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to setup, it took just 30 minutes from opening the box to being fully calibrated ready to go.

Bought two days before.. Amazing sound quality and features. But the sound bar centre area having heating issue. While playing, centre area getting very hot. Samsung pls take note on this. Other than this, I love this bar. This is my second bar from Samsung. 1st one is Q90R.

Moved to Samsung recently, and this sound system is complete. I enjoy the fact that can control things directly from my S95B TV, Q-Symphony is really good. If you have a Samsung TV compatible with Q-Symphony nothing will beat this

Got mine few days ago, everything is fine but Alexa only worked couple of times then "disappeared". However, good support from Samsung engineer (Mr Fong?), he did everything he could but still cannot find Alexa.
