How to auto restart your Samsung Galaxy device

Last Update date : Apr 13. 2023

Optimize your device by restarting it automatically at set times. Any unsaved data will be lost when the device restarts. But restarting your device will also free up memory and allow your device's performance to go back to optimal.

Activate and configure Auto-restart

Go to the 'Settings' menu, search, and select 'Auto-restart at set times'. If the option is set, your device will restart automatically within 1 hour of the time you set it.

Your phone will only restart when:

  • The screen is off.
  • The phone isn’t being used.
  • The battery is above 30%
  • The SIM card lock is off.

  • Tap Auto restart on some models.
  • To manually restart your device, use the Power button. You can also power off your phone with the Quick settings panel. Swipe down from the top of the screen, tap the Power icon in the top corner of the screen, and then tap Power off.

Note: Device screenshots and menus may vary depending on the device model and software version.
