Samsung SmartThings Arrival sensor isn't reporting or is stuck as away or present

Last Update Date : Jun 27. 2018

If your Samsung SmartThings Arrival sensor isn't reporting or is stuck as away or present, follow these steps:

1 The sensor may be out of range. Move it closer to the Hub, or extend the range of your ZigBee network using repeaters
2 Check that the battery is not drained and is firmly seated within the casing. If the battery level is low, replace it (1 CR-2032). Steps for removing the battery:

a. Insert a small flathead screwdriver into the groove at the base of the sensor

b. Gently twist the screwdriver. The plastic case should pop open

c. Remove the circuit board from the case

d. Hold the circuit board steady with one hand while sliding the flathead screwdriver underneath the battery until it pops out
