We all know that the Pebble Blue version of the S3 is going to be delayed, but the question is how long are we actually going to have to wait?

    Describe the issue

    Answers

    KT2109 2 years ago

I rang Vodafone on Monday morning. My 16Gb pebble blue Samsung Galaxy S3 was delivered to my home Tuesday morning, despite being told I would be on the pre-order waiting list and expected end of next week.

I have just read that samsungs flagship store says the 22/06/2012

It was released last month. The Pebble Blue version got delayed due to concerns with quality control, however they are still available. I bought mine this morning (Blue one, they had 3 in stock).

I've seen online somewhere that they said 19th June is the current ETA for the blue model.

I have downloaded the user manual and read the tech specs. I think the S III comes in 16 Gb, 32 Gb and 64 Gb versions, and you can put in a micro SDHC card which can be up to 64 Gb in the memory card slot after you lift the back cover off.

    Describe the issue

    Brodnick 2 years ago

The S3 can take up to a 64gig MicroSD card. These cards will be the of the MicroSDHC variety.

Can you swap out the battery for a new one, whether the same capacity or greater?

    Answers

Geoff in Kent 1 years ago

Yes it is. Larger batteries (with new backs) are now available (October 2012) from the far east via ebay, should you need to obtain them quick. Not sure how good they'll be but if they power more than a day's use it will make a big difference.

    Describe the issue

    Rilla 2 years ago

Yes, at least for the EU version.

    Describe the issue

    Originality 2 years ago

The battery is removable, so putting in a new one is definitely possible. I'm sure it's only a matter of time until batteries with double the capacity (and a replacement back to fit the bigger battery) come out too. It's just a matter of waiting for spare/replacement batteries to go on sale.

Here is what Thomas from Samsung Online Support Team told me last week: "Yes, this phone supports dual channel Wi-Fi. Based on the specifications it is capable of supporting 300-400mbps due to the Wi-Fi HT40 support." This is backed up from a mate in the know who says the S3 does have Wifi 2 aerials, whereas the S2 had only 1 so was limited to (only!) 150Mbps.

    Rilla 2 years ago

Yes, it supports both 802.11b/g/n and 802.11a at 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.

When using predictive text there is no option to add custom words ? I've tried searching through all the settings but I can't seem to find a solution. Maybe its a stock software problem ? I've also tried using youtube for help on this and come accross atleast one other person with the same problem. We are both in the UK if this helps ? I will attach a screen shot to try make my problem more clear. On the SGS1 I know you could click to see your suggested words from the dictionary and there at the bottom of the list would be the button to add a custom word, as you see on the screen shot its not there on the S3 ?

There is no such word list option on my phone. I followed the instructions given here and the only options under 'Predictive text' were: > Personalised data (checkbox) > Learn from Facebook > Learn from Gmail > Learn from Twitter > Clear remote data > Clear personalised data Privacy note My device is the international version of the S3 (GT-I9300) running version 4.1.2. Might yours be different?

Dear Coleman, I think I just found what you are looking for. 1) Go into "Language and input" settings 2) Click the Samsung keyboard setting 3) Click "Predictive Text" 4) Scroll Down and click "My Word List" 5) Simply add your custom words here I added one word, "hemlp" and when tried to input "he" it came up. Snap shot attached for reference. I hope it solves your question.

Hi, Unfortunately it is not possible to downgrade your software after it has been updated. However, Old systems settings can be left on the phone after an update occurs, which is why we usually recommend a full factory reset after updating. If this isn’t done your device may begin to give false readings from system resources, or experience technical problems, which may explain the issue you are having. We would advise on doing the following, which is designed to reset the settings on your device. Please back up your device using Samsung KIES before you do this. You can perform a factory reset on your device by navigating to the following menu: Settings > Backup and reset > Factory data reset If you continue to experience these issues after the reset please contact our Technical Support Team for further assistance on 0330 7267964. Thanks

When I connect my phone to my Windows 7 PC I keep getting this error message and Kies cannot connect to it. How do I fix this?

    Describe the issue

    Answers

Windows did attempt to re-install the drivers repeatedly, sometimes this showed as successful, sometimes it did not. I have attempted to update the drivers via Device Manager, but even though this appears to have completed successfully I get an error message 'This device cannot start. (Code 10)' .

    Describe the issue

    Samsung E-Support 1 years ago

Hi, The error messaging you are experiencing is currently under investigation from Microsoft. Can we ask if your PC/laptop recognises the phone i.e upon connection to PC/laptop does Window initiate the Driver Installation process? Further, does the drivers fully load or are there error messages? Please note, you do not need KIES running at this stage. Windows should find these drivers automatically upon connecting any external device to your PC/Laptop. If the drivers are not loading successfully you may need to open the Device Manager feature on your computer. The SIII should show here as a portable device with the full name and model code. If it does not appear here, you can avail of the Microsoft 'update driver' feature via Device Manager. Please note if your device is not recognised by the Device manager feature the Kies program will also not recognise the phone. Your Windows 7 program need to fully recognise the phone before any external program will do so. Please ensure you have updated to the latest version of Samsung Kies which is 2.5.3.13033_7. Thanks.

I made the mistake of accepting the Android 4.3 Upgrade a couple of weeks ago. The battery now only lasts for a maximum of 7 hours the phone is very unresponsive. It sometimes has to be hard reset by long pressing the power key or removing the battery. Why oh why can't you test these things before releasing them? When will a be a patch released to make the phone work? I'll give it another week, but after that I'll be returning it to the retailer for a refund. Last Samsung product I ever buy!
