    Hi, after updating my UK Galaxy S4 (I9505) to KitKat 4.4.2, I am no longer able to connect to Glonass satellites. My phone can detect them and locate them but does not appear to connect/make use of them. As you can see in the attached screen shot, this is a quick test using a GPS test app that shows a normal satellite connected but a Glonass satellite detected but won't connect. I am aware of other users facing the same issue. Can you advise if this is a known fault or issue?

    on android 4.4.2, same application with same version is showing GLONASS FIX on HTC ONE, Note 3 and even on S4 GT i9500 but not on my S4 LTE i9505 Ireland version

    Same is the case with my S4 LTE (Ireland-vodaphone ver) After updating from Android 4.3 (XXUEMJ7) to Android 4.4.2 (XXUFNB8) via samsung KIES my S4 wont acquire valid GLONASS fix, the satellites are shown but not used ... i have done master master reset as suggested by samsung support UK but no luck ... :(

    Hi it's not a problem with the app, the phone's GPS is not connecting to Glonass satellites. The app is simply showing that this the case.

    No Matter if my Phone is in my pocket or on the table it will just turn its self off and not come back on. I have to hold the power button for at least 10 seconds to power the phone back on and it can do this around 3 or 4 times a day. On one occasion it did it around 13 times in one day.

    I have this problem with my phone and I have tried what the samsung support said about updates and resetting but nothing has worked. Next step is to change the battery but since my phone is still under warranty, will samsung be sending me a new battery?

    Check that the battery has not blown. This is a known fault and Samsung will replace faulty batteries.

    Hi, Can you check to see if a software update is available for your device either by connecting to Samsung Kies or by going to Settings > More > About device > Software update (Network dependent). If no update is available then reset the device by going to Settings > Accounts > Back up and reset > Factory data reset. Prior to resetting, please ensure you have backed up all data via Samsung Kies. Thanks

    Just want to clarify before I go on a trip around Europe using the Samsung Navigation app. Does the GPS use network data and therefore cost me a lot in data charges or is it free like the tom tom for example?

    Try Navfree - You can download map packs & use GPS - no data connection required. It is free & very accurate.

    Hi, The GPS itself does not use data, however, the applications will require data usage in order to download maps. You may wish to contact your network provider regarding data charges when roaming. Thanks

    Since I updated to 4.3 on my galaxy s4 I can no longer connect to my iPad air via Bluetooth. Worked fine before, any one else experiencing this. I have unpaired the devices and reset both.

Old systems settings can be left on the phone after an update occurs, which is why we usually recommend a full factory reset after updating. If this isn’t done your device may begin to give false readings from system resources, or experience technical problems, which may explain the issue you are having.     Hi, I have a Galaxy s4 and a gear. I want to upgrade my phone to link with the gear however whenever I run the upgrade process it downloads fine but then when installing it comes up with an error. I have also tried upgrading with Kies and it just sits on preparing upgrade before then starting again and asking if i want to upgrade. I am getting a bit frustrated as i have paid for this watch and now cant link to it even though I thought all issues with the S4 update have been sorted??

    if you upgrade to 4.3 you will have to use KIES 3 to sync with pc. Kies 3 does not sync with Outlook, so beware.

    Upgraded to 4.4.2 and same thing happened,"Master sync disabled",or "sync disabled", had no e-mail.Pulled down the notification panel & pressed / turned on the sync symbol.All working again.
