Who can enter Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026/27?Students at registered primary schools, secondary schools (including private and international schools) and tertiary institutions in Hong Kong may enter. The competition has Primary, Secondary and Tertiary categories.

How many students are in a team? Can we mix schools?Each team has 2 to 5 students from the same school or tertiary institution. Each student may join one team only.

Do we need a finished prototype when we apply?No. Stage 1 only requires a Concept Proposal explaining the need you observed, the people involved, your initial AI or technology idea and its potential impact. Prototype development begins after shortlisting.

Do Primary and Secondary teams need a teacher contact?Yes. A teacher must act as the main contact for registration, submissions, and event updates. Tertiary teams may register and communicate directly.

What happens after a team is shortlisted?The 36 shortlisted teams join expert-led workshops and Project Clinics covering design thinking, AI, prototyping, storytelling, and presentation skills.

How many teams will reach each stage?36 teams will be shortlisted. From these, 18 teams join the Final Showcase and receive awards, while 9 Grand Pitch finalists present live to the judging panel.

What will the judging panel look for?Technology matters, but empathy comes first. Stage 1 focuses on understanding the need and creativity; Stage 2 on feasibility and AI and tech application; Stage 3 on impact and storytelling.

What awards and prizes can teams receive?Each category offers Champion, 1st & 2nd Runner-up, and three Merit Awards, with cash prizes, Samsung products, and certificates. Tertiary teams may also win Samsung internships. A Social Impact Storytelling Award and special certificates will also be presented.

Could our project be shared with the public?Yes. Selected projects may be featured on the official website, Samsung social channels, and at the in-person Final Showcase for the public and industry experts.
