Should I use non-Samsung batteries in my Samsung device?

Should I use non-Samsung batteries in my Samsung device?

No, Samsung recommends the use of only Samsung–approved batteries, chargers, and cables with your device.

Unapproved chargers and cables may lead to damage to the battery or device. Unapproved batteries may lead to damage to the device.

For some models, the battery includes the NFC (Near Field Communication) antenna. Using a non-Samsung battery where the model has the NFC antenna built-in to the battery may mean that NFC will stop working.

Any damage caused by the use of non-Samsung batteries is not covered by your product's warranty

Can I still use my device if the battery is damaged?

If the battery in your Samsung mobile device is damaged, you should stop using it immediately.

A damaged battery can diminish the performance of the device and, in some cases, cause damage or injury through overheating, fire or explosion.

Batteries can be damaged by taking or leaving the device in an excessively hot environment, dropping the device, or external pressure.

Where can I find replacement batteries?

Devices with removable batteries

Replacement Samsung batteries for devices with replaceable batteries can be purchased from Partmaster, as well as other electronics retailers.

We recommend that spare batteries are kept in a hard-shell case when not in use. You should use only batteries manufactured by Samsung or batteries that have been otherwise approved by Samsung for use with Samsung products.

Devices without removable batteries

If you need a replacement battery for your device with a non-removable battery, please contact your service provider or an authorised repair agent.

You can find our contact details at the bottom of this page.

Note that any faults resulting from removing the battery yourself are not covered by warranty.
