Make sure panel is not locked

The most common cause for a panel not responding is that the lock is engaged. Every Samsung refrigerator has a lock of some sort, either Child Lock, Control Lock, or even Dispenser Lock.

1. In SBS refrigerator model RS554NRUA** Press and hold Child Lock for 3 secs to activate/deactivate.

2. In French Door refrigerator model RF858Q**/RFG** Press and hold Lighting button for 3 secs to activate/deactivate Child Lock option.

Power cycle the refrigerator

On most models, this will mean unplugging the refrigerator or turning power off at the circuit breaker for 60 seconds, then restoring power.

In Family hub models, there is a switch for the panel that you should use instead, located at the inside top of the top-right door. Push open the small panel to find the switch inside. Click here to know the steps.
