Connect Sound Bar to TV via Optical Digital Cable & HDMI

HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) is an audio/video interface used to connect digital devices such as TVs, Projectors, DVD, Blu-ray Players, Set Top Boxes, and more.


Your Sound bar comes with 1 HDMI IN input and 1 HDMI OUT output, this allows for connection from one external device using HDMI. Alternatively you can connect multiple devices to your TV using HDMI (depending on how many HDMI ports your TV has) and then connect the sound bar to the TV using an optical connection.

Steps to ConnectClick to Expand
1 Connect the digital audio cable to the Digital Audio Out (Optical) port on your TV.
2 Connect the other end of audio optical cable to Digital input connector of your external device. For Example : Soundbar
3 Connect the HDMI cable to the TV labeled as HDMI IN (ARC) connection.
4 Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to your external device. For Example: Blue-Ray
5 Set the source on the TV to the HDMI input you want to view. The audio and video signal are sent from the external device to the TV via HDMI. The audio is sent from the TV to the sound bar via optical.

Note :

  • You will need one HDMI cable if you are connecting an external device such as a Cable box, Satellite Receiver, etc. A High Speed HDMIcable is recommended.


  • You will need one Digital optical cable to connect your TV to the Sound bar.
Selection of Sound OutputClick to Expand
1 Press the Home Button on your Samsung Smart Control to access the Home Screen and Select Settings.

Note: In Old Model Line Up instead of Home please press Menu.

2 Select Sound and then select Sound Output , by default TV Speaker will be selected.
3 Select the appropriate Sound Output and Close to finish.
