Television: Lines & Spot Problem

There are multiple possible causes for a line or lines on the screen.

 

• A line of dead pixels.

• A defective controller in the TV. 

• The external device connected to the TV.

• The cables used to connect an external device to the TV.

 

To determine the cause of the line on the screen, follow the steps below:

1 Change the source on the TV.
Source on Remote

• If the line or lines appear on all sources, continue troubleshooting below.

• If the line or lines appear on only one source, the source or connection cable is the cause. Contact the manufacturer of the external device for support.

2 Perform a Picture Test.

• If the line or lines not appearing, continue troubleshooting below.

• If the line or lines appear during the picture Test, Raise Service Request.

 

NOTE: For LCD or LED TV model in which picture test is not available diagnose the issue through USB or any other device.

3 Check the TV by connecting USB Drive.

• If the line or lines appearing, continue troubleshooting below.

 

• If the line or lines not appearing then the source or connection cable is the cause. Contact the manufacturer of the external device for support.

4 Reset TV.
