I've purchased TWO of these units for a new build for a computer that is using Windows 7. ( I refuse to let go with a perfectly fine and stable OS...) The problem that I have been having for the past week, is that I am unable to get the SSD drivers to be loaded onto the stick before I can do a clean Windows install. It would be super helpful if Samsung could include a self-executable to preload the drivers so the Windows install would go flawless. I have been trying multiple methods to get this installed, and am STILL stumped ! At this rate, Samsung will come out with a new version, and I will STILL have not gotten this drive installed !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Now as my boot drive, Windows 7 loads super-fast. - very pleased. One thing though, I notice that my UEFI Bios no longer saves the hibernation data properly, so Windows complains when it is awoken from hibernation - a bit of a disappointment. This could be something to do with my ASRock Z97 Killer mobo (Bios version: P2.60, date Mar, '18), and not the Samsung NVMe M2 SSD, but it does leave me a little disappointed. Using Samsung's Data migration s/w is so easy. Transfer of my windows installation from my older SSD to this new one was easy, and it is nice to be able to see the internals and benchmark via the Magician s/w. Great product on the whole!

Before, my HDD didn't use to follow my rhythm too well. Now, I am the one who can't follow my SSD rhythm! It's incredible. Since the moment you press the "Power On" button, you blink and there it is, the desktop waiting for you to log-in. When you log-in, you have all your programs loaded, prepared to be used. It's almost 6 times faster than normal Sata SSD's, which is amazing. Another good thing, is that this SSD's are the best in power consumption. In a laptop, it improves your battery duration time, because of the low consumption. Also (as any other SSD) it let's you move your laptop without fear to damage your drive.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My computer is fairly new, with latest processor and motherboard. I added more RAM, but I only observed minimal improvement in the performance. I never thought my SSD could be the bottleneck. After I added the Samsung 970 EVO plus M2 drive, the performance improved significantly. My computer boots way too fast, programs open lot quicker now, and switching programs are almost instantaneous. Just to experiment, I cut down the RAM to half size, and I did not notice any performance degradation. This is amazing. I will go ahead and switch harddrives in my other laptops with the Samsung 970 EVO plus. I would surely recommend this to anyone who wants to improve their laptop or desktop performance.

These 970 evo plus are even faster come with the awesome 5 year warranty and work every every time. I installed these, which was extremely easy with one screw, in clients workstations at a auto repair shop they were amazed by how fast they boot and load there application. The increased read and write speeds make updating and making changes to there database extremely fast compared to there old hard drives. These 250 gb have more then enough space for most of my clients work stations and the price is great for there bottom lines.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had this this 250 GB memory for a few weeks my laptop was taking 10 mins to start up, and slow opening programs.I wanted to get a new computer because I use my computer daily for heavy work.I'm tech savvy and love figuring things out so this was no task for me .. more like an adventure.This does not come with instructions or cable so be prepared for that it took me and hour to figure it out. Since the SSD has been installed on my computer it's running like a new one, and so much better! Everything is loading so fast I absolutely love it! I definitely recommend this SSD to everyone.

Purchased this with a new motherboard. Installation was very simple. Installed Windows 10 from a USB 3.0 stick in a few minutes. During the configuration of Windows and the installation of the drivers from the motherboard application, I didn't even realize my computer was rebooting. I thought it was just the screen flickering. The reboot took 4 seconds!!!!!! Anyway, pretty awesome to have this running. I tested the speed using the Samsung Magician software and my read clocked higher than the MAX read of 3,400 MB/s and the Write was at the advertised MAX. Very pleased

I have previously lost pictures with my laptop not working. We got this Samsung memory card and put in an external shell. It is amazing!! We were able to add all of our photographs and videos of all our vacation destinations and have room to add stuff (next destination : Thailand) The interface is very easy to use and the files are simple to access. This is a fantastic product and I will recommend it to anyone looking to save their precious files of any type.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My computer is fairly new, with latest processor and motherboard. I added more RAM, but I only observed minimal improvement in the performance. I never thought my SSD could be the bottleneck. After I added the Samsung 970 EVO plus M2 drive, the performance improved significantly, the sep up was extremely easy. My computer boots way too fast, programs open lot quicker now, and switching programs are almost instantaneous. Just to experiment, I cut down the RAM to half size, and I did not notice any performance degradation. This is amazing. I will go ahead and switch harddrives in my other laptops with the Samsung 970 EVO plus. I would surely recommend this to anyone who wants to improve their laptop or desktop performance.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was curious how much faster an NVMe M.2 drive was compared to an SSD so I installed the 970 EVO 250GB NVMe in my Windows 10 Pro PC. It turned out to be twice as fast as my 860 EVO 250GB SSD. To be honest though, the SSD could boot up in under 30 seconds and the NVMe in under 15, so both times were very fast. The nice thing about an NVMe drive is that it is installed directly onto the motherboard so you don't have to bother with a SATA cable or a power cable and it makes the airflow in your PC's case that much better. I love it. Let's see how long it lasts.

Zeer kleine stick die binnen 30s geïnstalleerd is. Gewoon in de port stoppen, iets naar beneden duwen en dan aan de andere kant een schroef aandraaien. Geen gezeur meer met kabels die je moet wegwerken. Mocht je geen schroef in je moederbord hebben zitten dan zit waarschijnlijk nog in je moederbord doos. Snelheid in de benchmark is gewoon 5-10x zo snel vergeleken met mijn SATA SSD. Hoeveel ik hiervan in de praktijk ga merken is nog de vraag, maar grote hoeveelheden bestanden verplaatsen gaat nu echt super snel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a PlayStation 4 the original not the pro and as such it has a regular drive not the SSD. Now honestly the PS4 is a great system and is fast and good with storage. But I never realized how much better could be with the Samsung 907 EVO plus M2 drive. Everything ever since has improve which is a bit mind boggling. Obviously storage is expected with 250GB but also performance, speed and gaming experience was so much better. And its quite easy to replace and set up, there are many YouTube videos out there to replace your hard drive with and SSD that have detailed step by step instructions. I would highly recommend this product to everyone not only those who want to improve gaming experience like I did but also for those who want to improve their experience on a computer.

Like the other reviews, I'll verify this module is crazy fast. On install the bios detected it, windows 10 did not have the appropriate temporary drivers though, and kept blue-screening, even in safe mode, initially. After some persistence, Windows conceded and allowed me to log in with an unknown device. After downloading the drivers from samsung and rebooting, all was well. The samsung cloning tool worked great, though it did not clone the 2nd hidden recovery partition in "automatic" mode.

I've been using SSDs for awhile now in my computers but this one is easily the fastest, loading games or transferring files is noticeably faster while using this drive. The installation was quick and simple, The drive worked great without any issues. If you need or want speed and performance I highly suggest getting this drive, I'll most likely be upgrading my other computer now because I won't like using anything slower anymore.

Eind mei een nieuwe pc samengesteld met de 1 TB SSD (Samsung type 970 EVO Plus). Even getwijfeld of dit een 500 MB of 1 TB moest worden. Deze SSD was klein van formaat en eenvoudig zonder kabels in te bouwen. Je moet hiervoor wel het vereiste M2 slot op het moederbord hebben. Zo'n aansluiting zit op de meeste nieuwe moederborden. De SSD valt na montage niet op en misschien wel het aller belangrijkste, de pc is razend snel geworden en start binnen de kortste keren op.

The factory SSD installed on the laptop was fairly quick, but the Samsung 970 EVO Plus is blazing fast! No other SSD can compare. With 500MB/s Seq. Read speeds and 2,300MB/s Seq. Write speeds, it makes multitasking and video editing a breeze. On my laptop, the read speeds were well over 2 gbps! My computer booted a lot faster, applications and programs loaded way quicker, and video post processing was almost 50% faster! I was so amazed by the performance. The only downside for me would be the storage capacity. I wish I had a 500gb or 1tb SSD. My laptop only has one slot on the motherboard so if I want more storage, I would need an external harddrive or upgrade this SSD to a bigger capacity. However all in all, this is the best SSD on the market today!

I was amazed at the increase of speed I had after just starting up my computer. I am so happy to have the extra space on my hard drive now for storage. Being a college student and doing medical billing and coding the increase in space has made a tremendous difference from what I had before. The only problem I had was the installation of the device.

I bought this a few days ago to replace my 1TB HDD. I downloaded the Data Migration tool and cloned the drive to the new SSD. I'm only using 236 GB. But when I bench tested with the Samsung Magician, it shows only 815 MB/s Read and 790 MB/s Write. Far below what it's advertised as. Not sure what's wrong. At least it's faster than the HDD. The Diagnostic Scan in Magician says this drive does not support it.

I replaced a 970 EVO 250GB with this 970 EVO 500GB, not expecting to see any real change in performance. But the extra boost in access is noticeable. Performance tests verify the increases, plus there is lots of space available now. I,m pleased with the change. I would have done it earlier if the cost was not so high. The Samsung migration program worked great and was very fast.

The only Con I can honestly say, taken into account I have a bunch of Software loaded on it, is that the Load and Boot from Startup time have depreciated a quite noticeable amount. Other than that, I've had no other issues!

Ondanks dat de evo plus versie net iets beter presteert, is de evo een zeer snelle SSD. Dit is een zeer compacte NVMe M.2 SSD en neemt daardoor niet veel ruimte in. Je moederbord dient wel een aansluiting te hebben voor NVMe. De snelheid is grofweg 7x sneller dan een normale SSD (bv. samsung 860 evo). Ik ben zeer blij met deze SSD. Ik ga hier nog veel plezier van hebben.

I purchased this for my home lab and ESXi server. I have 1 particular VM that loads and runs very slowly due to disk bottle neck. No more! Installed it using an expansion board as my MB didn't have M.2 so using PCIe x4 slot. BIOS didn't see it but Windows 10 and more importantly VSphere 6.5 found it no problems. My VM now boots to login in 8-9 sec!

this is my first m.2 ssd and i love the speed as well as the fact it opens up more space in my very small micro atx case. installation is easy and though it costs more than a standard ssd the extra speed and smaller size make up for it. i looked at many other options but in the end i trusted samsung more for performance quality and longevity.

Bought this for my son's PC - however as soon as he had re-installed Steam and tried play Rust from the new drive he found the performance of the graphics severly detrimental. GPU constantly around 100% - I read that nvme shares lanes with the gpu but not sure if this is the issue. Certainly something to consider for anyone looking to purchase!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I got this SSD, I thought for setup in my laptop but I wanted to test it out. I got a enclosure and installed it. The only problem I faced was instructions. They are very vague when it comes to how to install or download the software. Finally we figured to download the Samsung magician software after calling Samsung. And it worked. Even though Samsung magician is hard to understand with no instructions in the manual. It took us a while to set the SSD with the software. But once it was installed, it worked with amazing speed. I think 250 GB is perfect for my use. I made partitions on Samsung magician for my kids photos and business. Still tons of space. It is Fast, affordable and amazing. I never thought of its speed will be that awesome. I use this SSD as my home based business. Since I spend doing 98% of my work on laptop. This 970 evo plus SSD saved my life. Thank you Samsung. I am always impressed with your technological innovations.

i have had this drive for about a year and a half now... i had it for about 3 months and then i kinda messed it up in the bios. still dont know what happened. it started making hdd noises and killed itself when booting back into windows. sent it off to samsung for a repair and it has worked like nothing ever happened! 15/10 would recommend!

Deze SSD is voor zowel gamers, hardcore developers en video editors uitermate geschikte. Ongekende hoge opsstart- en overdrachtssnelheden zorgen voor mimimale wachttijden. Zelfs als je al 'standaard' SSDs gewend bent zal je het verchil merken met dit NVME beest. Als je twijfelt, dan kan ik alleen zeggen: Kopen.

detail is hp in their infinite wisdom required an m3 screw to tie it down to the motherboard. several trips to the hardware store. but it fits fine. longer screws at store, so use a couple of bolts at the top to shorten. some people though bios update required, but not my case. bios ami f.20 11/2/2017

Ik had al jaren een sata ssd en dan denk je dat zo'n ding snel is. Nou, nu weet ik wat snel is! Ongelooflijk, totaal andere beleving van met een pc werken. Ik wilde eerst de plus-versie maar de evo versie was zoveel goedkoper dat ik het niet kon laten liggen, maar dit werkt zo geweldig... geen spijt van!

Sinds enkele dagen heb ik deze SSD. Het installeren van een NVMe M.2 SSD is wat anders dan een "normale" SSD, maar het is eigenlijk erg gemakkelijk. De snelheden van deze SSD zijn subliem, al is hij wel een stuk duurder dan de concurrentie. Wat mij betreft het geld waard!

Paar dagen geleden gekocht in combinatie met een Thunderbolt 3 Enclosure om mijn gigantische sample libraries eens een plek te geven. Het was even slikken kwa prijs, maar dan heb je ook echt wat! Dit is ongeveer 15x zo snel dan mijn vorige oplossing, een externe SSD.

this m.2 ssd was a replacement hard for a computer repair. my friend loves the ssd and raves about how much faster the laptop is booting into the desktop compared to before. now i am thinking about getting another m.2 ssd for my laptop that i use for school.

The write speed is fast as usual like the other one Samsung I had earlier use to use. Other applications aren't as fast as this k e I think. I like the enhancement of the read and write performance. It's great for long videos I've taken and needed to add. I have tons of videos and pictures that I added in great time speed. I do recommend this device to anyone looking for a way to add more storage and be able to save their stuff. I will get great use from this. Thanks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250 GB has been an interesting review. I have been using the little drive as a super fast USB-C portable drive. This V-NAND Drive really is the ultimate performance champ. The physical drive Design is no larger than a stick of gum, yet has an amazing speed and storage capacity. Since it is a solid state memory storage with no moving parts, the durability is also very high. The enclosure I used is an aluminum enclosure I can hide my pocket or bad. The enclosure I am using allows me to use this drive on both OSX and Windows. I have not had any errors or slowdowns with this drive and it has performed stable and trouble free. I use is mostly to transfer large video files for editing and works flawlessly. The Samsung Magician software was helpful in getting my firmware updated and allows me to see my other internal SSD drives on my computer at the same time. I have only used about half of the 256GB of the drive yet it has shown no slowdowns or delays. Although the drive can achieve sequential read/write speeds up to 3,500/3,300 MB/s, my USB-C portable system has only allowed me to get slightly over 1100MB/s. This is not the drives fault, it is the way I am using the drive. Overall I love this drive for the small size and slim slender profile. I would highly recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250 GB has been an interesting review. I have been using the little drive as a super fast USB-C portable drive. This V-NAND Drive really is the ultimate performance champ. The physical drive Design is no larger than a stick of gum, yet has an amazing speed and storage capacity. Since it is a solid state memory storage with no moving parts, the durability is also very high. The enclosure I used is an aluminum enclosure I can hide my pocket or bad. The enclosure I am using allows me to use this drive on both OSX and Windows. I have not had any errors or slowdowns with this drive and it has performed stable and trouble free. I use is mostly to transfer large video files for editing and works flawlessly. The Samsung Magician software was helpful in getting my firmware updated and allows me to see my other internal SSD drives on my computer at the same time. I have only used about half of the 256GB of the drive yet it has shown no slowdowns or delays. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had been using the Samsung Evo Plus 970 NVMe 250GB SSD for the past month. Got it to add as a boot drive for my new PC build. The box came packaged well, and doesnt have any chance of slipping from its slot while shipping. For the first week, havent finished the build yet, so started using the EVO Plus using the external Samsung X5 SSD shell, by replacing the existing hardrive that came with the package. The speeds are much better on the Evo Plus, compared to the default drive that is in the X5 with speeds over 30% to the default drive. When testing the read-speeds, it was over 2GBPS, which is the highest I had seen on all the SSD devices that I have including the NVMe SSDs. Tested the speeds with Macbook Pro 15 with TBT3 and Alienware M15 with TBT3. Mac harddrive is over 20% slower than the Evo Plus 970 NVMe SSD. With Alienware M15, the write speeds of Alienware default NVMe drive is over 600Mbps for a 16GB file while the Evo Plus stayed at around 400Mbps. But the Read speeds for the same file is over 2.6Gbps for 970 Evo Plus, but around 1.7Gbps for the default NVME on M15(but also to consider is that the 970 Evo Plus is connected via TBT3 whereas the internal drive is connected to the motherboard directly, so expect that the 970 Evo Plus will have probably higher speeds when replaced the existing NVMe on M15. When plugged into desktop, on MSI Z370-A Pro, was able to get seq read speeds almost reaching 3000Mbps and seq write speeds around 2400Mbps, which is awesome as a basic boot drive and to have games load from the drive. I also have 2 secondary drives that use Samsung 860 QVO which have good speeds for data storage and read. Only thing I missed out on when getting the drive is that I didnt consider the size of games, so since I have only 250GB drive, restricted, but planning on upgrading the motherboard to be able to get two NVMe ports to allow plugging in another 970 EVO Plus The harddrive helps with quick and fast boot of the desktop, with under 2 seconds to boot and had no issues playing AAA games on high settings(Config is i7-8700K and 16GB 3000MHZ RAM and 2070 RTX) Pros: Fast Read speeds and Write speeds Cons: Could have some better heat sink to prevent it getting a bit hot, but going to get a new MOBO with heatsink to prevent this
