Find it in Lost Mode

I’ve owned the SmartTag2 for about 6 months. It worked fine initially, but it has now developed a known hardware defect where it drains a brand-new battery in less than 24 hours. I have replaced the battery three times with high-quality cells, and the tag kills them within hours every single time. Even after a factory reset, the device remains in a high-power state. ​Samsung advertises 500+ days of battery life, but mine now lasts less than 1 day. This is a documented issue in the community forums. If yours starts dying fast, don't waste money on more batteries. The unit is internally defective. Very disappointed in the build quality for a premium tracker.

Been using since Tag 1 and now Tag 2, no more lost house keys and car keys. Have more than 10 tags in total. With the extra loop at the end of Tag 2, I can hook my keys to it. Looking forward to a slim version. Not sure why so many -ve reviews? This product is a life saver and I do hope Samsung continues to develop on this, despite all these negative reviews that doesn't seem to make sense. Just tested a few tags again just to make sure and they work. Only complaint is the find my tag sometimes receives strange "ghost signals" which detects a tag that isn't there. Not often but it does.

Lacking the ability to use the location in automations is a major drawback on these. With the modern age of home automation why would the location data not be made available for a geofence (defined area to be marked as present) to be used in automatons in SmartThings. Makes these far less useful than I had hoped. Only the button press is usable in automatons which if rmt use case is no where near as useful.. Should have bought another tag or waited for the google ones in case they could be integrated into automatons.. I wish I read this limitation before buying as this came a a surprise for a location based device that works in SmartThings. .

Does not track from even 1m away. Tested out both of the tags I bought, putting them in my car 6 metres outside front of my house, did not work until I moved a second samsung phone directly into the car and it finally detected the . Repeated this test and this time it was still saying the tags were in the house not the car, even when the tracking phone and the other phone were BOTH in the car. These are useless...do not buy. I am sceptical of the 5 star reviews, either there are major QC issues or they are fake. Happy with all other samsung products I've bought, so this is disappointing to be sold 2 useless little bricks

As a tracker, it isn't too bad, provided it can connect to the internet and/or a bluetooth device that is also a Samsung device. About a year ago, they updated the app that you use on your device to track your item and you can no longer ring the tag. You can still find it by playing "Hot or Cold" with your phone, but that will only get you to within a few meters. Once you are near it, it jumps between hot and cold so fast that it makes finding it impossible. It is nice that you can replace the battery without buying a whole new tag, but you have to find the tag first. Works overseas and it is great when tracking luggage through airports. Also good for package tracing.

Skipped the first iteration of the SmartTag and jumped straight into this version. Very premium with the metal ring and a slightly weighty feel to it. Only minor downside is the limited capabilities of the programmable button right now. Hopefully Samsung will consider expanding it to control the phones as well, instead of just other SmartThings devices.

It works but it's not worth the price. It essentially does what others do but just costs more and will likely come with an issue. You'll get notifications saying the tag battery is flat 2-4 weeks after putting a new battery in. I just ignore it as it's perfectly charged, but this seems to be a common issue, judging by the posts online dedicated to this issue. So now it's a guessing game of when the battery will genuinely deplete. Defeating the purpose of what this product is meant to offer, which is peace of mind. As the issue relates to reliability, this gets the lowest score.

Wish I had looked at personal reviews rather than just review sites. One of my smart tags of 4 is unusable. 5 days in and battery is low. Another couple of hours and it's very low. Who knows if the others will follow suit. . Unusable.

I cant use the compass and ar view in my phone because its my s25 doesnt support UWB which should be advertised and this is unacceptable as a flagship phone so I just wasted my money on a reguler smart tag with better battery

This pointless piece of crap is no better than a decorative keyring. I bought it to track my cat who gets let outside during the day. When she's roaming about, and I try to use this thing to track her, it constantly just says she's in the same location I am, which is false. I try to track it, it doesn't work. I try to ring it, it doesn't connect. It has absolutely no use or function apart from being able to ring it when she's FIVE METRES away from me. Pointless garbage, waste of money.

I purchased 4 Samsung trackers and in my opinion they are not worth the money. The location updates were sketchy at best and most of the time inaccurate stating last know position was at my home address when the tag was a long way from home at a shopping mall where there were hundreds of people that would have had Android/Samsung phones. These could be invaluable if they worked but they definitely need more work and they are not cheap.

I bought this product before heading from Sydney to Canada, on the 6 flights that we took in total we were able to use the LIFE button within the Smartthings App to see our suitcases travel to different locations within the airport that we were at. We could also see that the cases were directly underneath us, clustered with all our other devices, when we were sitting on the plane at the gate waiting to depart.
I recommended this product.

I bought the tags for our luggage as we were travelling around Europe for 5 weeks and heading to multiple countries. We experienced no issues while travelling. The tags locations updated within minutes and we received notifications once we moved any distance away from our bags. Now we have returned we have re-purposed a tag to track our dog. No issues so far tracking him either.

Got one of these with my S24 Ultra plan. Swapped out the battery when it died, and it never turned back on - checked the battery was correct and all that... Still dead. Great device, but with such a short lifespan - I could never recommend that anyone ever spend any actual money on it. Luckily they let me "try it out"! I would have been very upset if I had actually purchased it!

Only had them for a few days. Concerned that someone stealing my car with SmartTag2 onboard will be able to pick up that they're being tracked, and then make it beep so they can locate it. Needs answers from Samsung (not publicly, but only available in paper instructions, and not online) if this is an issue, or how they stop it being an issue? If it has time delay before notifying thief, giving time to tag as lost, to avoid notifying thief? Who knows? Love the functionality. Need yet to test its reliability. Will do this week. Does every Samsung phone that gets close to it, collect location data from it, or only those with smart things loaded and option to "help" people track/locate turned on? Really needs more robust outer holder for robust dog collar. Don't want it to be a chew toy for another dog. Also active swimming/rough and tumble dogs might be a bit hard on it as it is. As they are with anything.

Totally useless, doesn't update. We purchased 2 to put in our cars. We both travelled together yesterday & parked next to each other on 2 occasions. Now one car is about 40 mins up the road. Today is Wednesday 6th Nov & it's still showing where we both were yesterday at 7.45am Tuesday 5th. So should the vehicle get stolen we would have no idea where it would be

Absolute rubbish!! I put it in a vehicle that has two occupants, both with Samsung Galaxy mobiles and the location data is useless. you'd think being in close proximaty of TWO Samsung Galaxy mobiles the updates would be accurate and immediate. Sometimes hours go by before it updates. Save your money and get a proper GPS tracker - far more accurate.

I receievd my smartTag2s back in February as part of complimentary item with my new phone. Only recently activated them and now very impressed with the features. Much better than a very well known popular bluetooth tracker. Much easier to share tracking with family. Easier to trace SmartTag with others. The list goes on. I keep finding new ideas.

I purchases these items and they work very efficiently and effectively. Easy to setup on a relevant product and it does what it describes. It is not foolproof and it is NOT theftproof. It is another method to try and locate important goods that you need. If you have a Galaxy Ultra 21, 22, 23 or other relevant phones it is highly recommended.

Works well for me for the past year or so. I have them in each of my kids cars, but they need to be in an external position such as inside the tail light etc or the metal door blocks them. Tracked my luggage well internationally. Kids driving around Hamilton, Auckland, Rotorua. They require nearby samsung phones to track, a major drawback.

Useless. Bought it to track my bike while travelling and the first trip I took, it already lost location before I got to the airport (last known location), even while I was with the bike while checking in at the airport. Needless to say I've lost my bike and I've had no updates since I departed my original port.

Bought this few weeks ago and it's very useful for me on tracking my keys and wallet. The design is slim and handy, has matte feeling texture and a legit water-resistant tag! This is a must-have Samsung users who ocassionally being foregtful for their small but very important things.

Useless, barely connects let alone tracks. Mainly bought to see if they could keep track of my dog on walks, & kids while they walk to school, but unfortunately it just doesn't hold a candle to Apple's airtags & realtime tracking technology, so I'll be going back to Apple.

I have the tag for some time but the location tracking is so inaccurate. I can literally have the tag next to me, refresh the location and it states the tag is in a completely different address from where I am. Defeats the object of what this is supposed to do

Do not buy this tag. I bought it thinking it's better than my old one. I was so wrong. The battery lasted only about 2 months from new. Now after replacing battery, I can't enable double click to find my phone. So many bugs. Samsung support is no help at all.

The battery lasted 1 year and when I changed it the smarttag2 stopped working and is now out of warranty - it's a shame the product life is 1 year for this cost. It was also always a bit hard to use and the 'double click' to find my phone often didn't work.

I keep losing Items , Keys etc, I've put this on and it works fantastic. Installed it through the Smart Things App on my Samsung S24Ultra and honestly works perfectly. PPL that complain must be installing it incorrectly!
