What is Screen Mirroring and how do I use it with my Samsung TV and Samsung mobile device?

The screen mirroring feature allows you to mirror your phone or other compatible mobile device's screen on to your TV's screen wirelessly. This feature allows you to use your big screen television instead of your device's smaller screen for showing content stored on your handheld device.

Screen mirroring is compatible with the following devices:

  • Samsung Galaxy S5
  • Samsung Galaxy S4
  • Samsung Galaxy S3
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 2
  • Smasung Galaxy Note 3
  • Samsung Galaxy Camera
  • Samsung 8” Galaxy Note
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1”
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" 2014 Edition

All devices listed above must be running at least Android version: 4.1.2. We cannot guarantee proper operation when used on rooted mobile devices.


1. To prepare the TV to connect with your device press the Source button.

2. Navigate to and select the Screen Mirroring source.



3. Your TV will display a screen informing you that it is waiting for a device to be connected. This screen will be displayed until your device is connected.

Note: if you do not connect your device within two minutes the scan will time out.



Note: these final steps will vary depending on your mobile device. Most devices will have an option similar to Allshare Cast in Samsung Phones: Settings > Wireless and Networks > More Settings > Allshare Cast. Once you enable this setting it will scan for nearby devices.


5. Once enabled the external device will scan for the TV and find it. If it does not find it try to get within six feet of the TV.

6. Tap on the TV icon to connect to your TV.


7. Your phone or tablet screen will now be displayed on the TV. Examples for using this connection include:

    • Showing pictures stored on your external device.
    • Watching videos stored on your external device.
    • Watching videos from apps on your external device.
    • Playing music through your TV's speakers instead of your external device's.
    • Showing people the game you are playing.

Note: there is usually a slight lag between the actions performed on the external device and their appearance on the TV. This means you will not be able to effectively watch the TV's screen when playing a fast-paced game.
