Smart switch

A sure and secure way to move
your data to Galaxy

When switching to Galaxy, you don't have to say goodbye to your old stuff. The data and content you were using before - your photos, videos, contacts, calendar events, notes and device settings - get to stay with you on your new Galaxy.

Even when coming from another OS,
it’s easy to make the switch

Moving to a Galaxy from another OS doesn’t have to be hard. Smart Switch can transfer data from many different devices, making the upgrade to Galaxy a seamless process for everyone. Now that’s smart.

On the left, a Galaxy smartphone, Galaxy tablet, and iphone show the loading symbol on their screens. Arrows directed toward the new Galaxy device on the right indicate that data is being transferred. How to migrate your WhatsApp data to your Samsung Galaxy

As simple as it is intuitive, migrating your WhatsApp data just takes two steps. First, connect your iOS device to your new Samsung Galaxy with Smart Switch using a USB-C Lightning cable, then simply begin importing data after verifying the QR code.

  • * Requires the latest Smart Switch version on Samsung Galaxy smartphones and the latest WhatsApp version on iOS devices.
  • * Available on devices running iOS 10.0 or above and Android 10 or above.
  • * WhatsApp chat history can only be migrated before signing into WhatsApp on the new device. If someone signs in to WhatsApp before migration or before SmartSwitch is done transferring the data, then the app migration will not be possible.
  • * USB-C to Lightning cable is required.
  • * You can download latest Smart Switch from “Galaxy Store” or “Google Play Store”.
