We purchased this fridge after reading good reports about Samsung freezers. It is the most we have spent on a freezer and it looks great, well designed inside BUT after les than three years it has failed. Reading other reviews it looks like we have the same problem that many others have experienced. We came home with shopping today opened the freezer and discovered that contents were half defrosted. The freezer is working but not getting down to required temperature. Looks very much like the random defrost problem that so many others have reported. I wish I had read these reviews before we purchased this freezer. We will see how things are in the morning, but fear the worst. I don't think we will be buying another Samsung, pity.

In three years, this freezer has self-defrosted a multitude of times, three of which we lost the entire contents of the freezer. Engineers have been out three times, and each time they say they have fixed it (faulty this, faulty that), and it continues to fail. At the moment, we are awaiting yet another engineer visit as the top half of the freezer is thawed and the bottom half is frozen. We are on a fixed income, and simply can't afford to replace this with something more reliable, nor can we afford to keep having to replace spoiled food! DO NOT BUY!!!

My wife complained about the size of our kitchen and the fact that there is not enough storage space in the built-in fridge freezer so our new Samsung freezer sits in a corner of the garage doing its duty. I love the fact that it leaves no puddles of water to clear up and it is easy to get to any part of the freezer to get out what is needed. We don't use the ice-cube maker so have removed it to make more space for frozen food. The freezer temperature is displayed on the face of the door at about eye-level which is good.

I've had this freezer 18months, and this weekend it started to defrost, internal temprature reaching 12c. I came on here, read bad reviews about this occurring and feared the worst. Emptied it out into emergency backup and woke up this morning to a fully functioning -20c. Turned out it was user error not the freezer, overloading can block the vents and cause problems. Very happy its up and running again, its a great size and very easy to keep organised.
I recommended this product.

I have had this freezer for 8 months and was very happy with it until yesterday (Sunday) when it just randomly defrosted. It started at the top and gradually worked it’s way all the way through the freezer until everything in it was defrosted. No one I could call really on a Sunday night so I had no choice but to leave it until morning. This morning it’s all frozen again but the food will all have to be thrown away as it will now not be fit to eat. I am now reluctant to fill the freezer again, which defeats the object of buying this big freezer in the first place. What are you going to do Samsung? Are you going to pay for all my food, my freezer was full. Seems to me reading the other reviews on a similar topic that you choose to ignore most people. I had always loved Samsung products till now but will not buy anything Samsung again.

We have had this freezer for 4 weeks and it has just auto defrosted and lost hundreds of food. Came downstairs to a pool of water and food that had completely defrosted. I wish I had seen these reviews before I bought it. Surely Samsung should be doing a product recall rather than destroying their brand. I will never ever buy Samsung again!

Freezer defrost itself without warning, its 18 months old so out of warranty, buy now having to think about replacing it as have lost complete confidence in it, extremely disappointed in the product and shocked Samsung produce an item of this quality and looking at other reviews this problem seems to be common place...I'd avoid this product

Defrosted with no reason. Engineer coming this week. Lost all the food for the second time. The first time we assumed it must have been our fault, but on reading the reviews it seems 50% of those reviewing have exactly the same problem. This is clearly a problem with the make - should be taken off market.

Got this freezer in April 2020. Left the review for awhile to see how it performed. Great piece of kit no issues whatsoever. I like the novel ice maker. We have the matching fridge too for about a year and thats excellent too!

I love the open shelves so easy to see everything and love the ice cube maker so easy to use while the door handle is easy to use while the temperature on the outside of the door is reassuring.light inside is an added bonus

Samsung advise that the Dongle necessary to connect to any Smart system isn't available in the UK. Therefore this unit isn't future proof and not even connectable to Samsung SmartThings or similar.
