Yes Samsung Pay can make online and in-app purchases.
What should I do if I lose my original payment card and then receive a replacement card?
The payment cards on Samsung Pay are digital versions of your physical payment cards. If you lose your original payment card and then receive a replacement card, you need to remove the original payment card from Samsung Pay and register the replacement card.
Can I use Samsung Pay in foreign countries?
Samsung Pay service will be available in the UAE. Please check your card issuer's policies for transactions in foreign countries. If you can use your card in the country you are travelling to, you should be able to use Samsung Pay to make a payment.
In which countries will Samsung Pay be available?

How do I make in-store purchases with Samsung Pay?
1. Initiate Samsung Pay by either swiping-up from the home button or opening the Samsung Pay app from the home screen.
2. Select the card you want to pay with by swiping left or right.
3. Verify your fingerprint or PIN and touch your phone to either the card reader or NFC reader to complete the transaction.
How can I cancel a payment made using Samsung Pay?
Canceling a payment made with Samsung Pay is the same as a physical card. The exact process will depend on the policies of your card issuer and the merchant you made the purchase from.
How is my default payment card in Samsung Pay determined?
There is no "default" card in Samsung Pay When you open the app or activate the Simple Pay feature by swiping up from the Home Key on supported screens, the first card displayed is either the last card you registered or the last card you viewed or used.
The cashier asks the last 4 digits of the card but the transaction still does not pass, what to do?
In case that merchant may ask you for the last four digits of the card number, you will need to provide the last four digits of the digital card number, instead of the last four digits of the physcial card. For ease of use, it is located on the left side of the card in the Simple Pay screen, and in the main app when viewing your registered cards.
How can I keep track of purchases I've made with Samsung Pay?
Samsung Pay show last 10 purchases. To see that:
1. Open Samsung Pay
2. Choose the card
3. At the bottom you may see last purchases.

However, currently, due to some merchants' policy, the amount of money you've puchased could not be seen in the list. Sorry for inconvenience and we will do our best to resolve this with merchants.
Can I continue to use my physical payment card if I disable Samsung Pay or remove the digital equivalent on Samsung Pay?
Yes. When you disable Samsung Pay or remove a registered card, you are only suspending the token, or digital card number, that has been assigned to your device for that card. If you wish to suspend you physical card, please contact your card issuer for assistance.

Look for the Samsung Pay icon on your device.

In what situation will the cashier asks me to enter my bank PIN code in the terminal?
The cashier will ask you to enter your PIN code in the terminal only when you make a purchase of more than 100AED using the NFC. For MST, it will not ask for any bank PIN code.
How can I register my card?
Cards can be either automatically registered by scanning your card with Samsung Pay or manually inputting the card information.

Then, depending on the policies set by your bank or credit union, Samsung Pay will prompt you to verify your identity through an email, SMS or a phone call.
How long will it take for my card to activate after registering it to Samsung Pay?
It will take 10 minutes fo your card to be activated after registering to Samsung Pay.
How many cards can I register into Samsung Pay?
You can register up to 10 payment cards in Samsung Pay. (Credit Cards, Debit Cards)
Can I register the same card with more than one device using Samsung Pay?
Yes. The total number of devices you can register a card to may vary. Contact your card issuer for more details on the number of devices that you can register your card to.
Can I use Wi-Fi for card registration in Samsung pay?
Yes. However, for the best experience, the device should have a SIM card installed. If you encounter any issues when registering the card over Wi-Fi, we suggest switching to a cellular data connection.
What should I do if I have trouble adding a payment card to Samsung Pay?
Please check your internet connection first and if it still doesn't work, please contact bank call center for more information
What should I import cards in to my new device?
Use latest Samsung Pay app version and just sign in to your Samsung Account. Visa-Mastercard-Amex Cards will be downloaded for you automatically.
Are you storing any additional card information to enable import feature?
No, Samsung Pay is not storing any additional data to enable this feature. We are only using reference id and meta data to enable this feature, not actual card numbers.
What should user do to backup cards?
User need not do anything. We are only using meta data already available in our server for this feature.
User deleted a card previously, will it be imported?
No. If user does not have an active card in any device, it won’t be available for import.
How can a user get this feature?
This feature is enabled whenever they use/upgrade to latest version of Samsung Pay app.
I can't see the new loyalty feature in my app. How do I get this?
Loyalty feature is available from app version 2.7.15

2.Click on 'Settings'

4.If your app version is lower than 2.7.15, click 'Update'
How can I add a loyalty card to Samsung Pay?
In Samsung Pay, select "Add" on the top right-hand corner and tap on "Add loyalty cards". Search for and select a retailer from the retailer list. You can scan your loyalty card or manually enter the respective card number. Alternatively, click on "Loyalty cards" in Samsung Pay to add your loyalty card.
What if I can't find a loyalty card that I want in the list?
You can add a card manually by selecting "Add a card that is not in the list." Take a picture of the front and/ or back of the card and fill in the relevant information.
How many loyalty cards can I add?
You can add as many loyalty cards as you wish; however, only a total of 12 cards (payment/ loyalty cards) can be added as Favourite Cards. You may select which credit/ debit/ prepaid and loyalty cards you would like to access with Favourite Cards by selecting "Settings", then "Manage Favourite Cards".
How do I present my loyalty card in Samsung Pay to the cashier?
Activate Favourite Cards when at the check-out counter or cashier. Swipe right or left to select the loyalty card. If your loyalty card is not added in Favourite Cards, select your card from the banner towards the upper right hand corner of the Favourite Cards screen. Tap on the card and show its barcode (top of screen) to the cashier. Alternatively, you can select your card from loyalty cards list. Tap on "Tap to use card" and present the barcode/ card number to the cashier.
What happens to my loyalty card after I decide not to use it?
If you no longer wish to shop at that merchant or use their loyalty card, simply delete the loyalty card in the loyalty tab and it will no longer appear in Samsung Pay.
What is MST?
Magnetic Secure Transmission or MST, is a groundbreaking method of sending data using magnetic waves. MST replicates a card swipe by wirelessly transmitting magnetic waves from the supported Samsung device to a standard card reader. MST turns every card reader into a contactless payment receiver.
What is NFC?
Near Field Communication or NFC is a method of wirelessly transmitting data using radio waves. Samsung Pay uses NFC to wirelessly transmit payment data to payment terminals with NFC readers that have been activated for use.
What is the difference between MST and NFC technology?
For the average user there is no the differences between using NFC or MST. The technology, called MST is able to simulate the magnetic field, which is similar to a conventional credit card signal. Terminal thinks that you have held the card, rather than put the phone. The radius of action is similar to NFC - up to 7 centimeters.
For Samsung Pay, either MST or NFC technology can be used to make secure, contactless transactions. The key difference is that approximately 90% of all merchants can accept MST, which makes Samsung Pay the most accepted mobile payment service on the market.
Which is more secure, MST or NFC?
In the context of Samsung Pay, MST and NFC have the same level of security. The payment information transmitted by both MST and NFC is protected using tokenization.
How accurate is the fingerprint scanner?
Fingerprint Scan has a False Acceptance ratio of 0.002%. In this case, Fingerprint is highly secured in which it is unlikely that a different person can log in the Samsung Pay with Fingerprint security.
How close does the device have to be to the card reader for MST to work?
To pay for the phone you need to bring to a distance of no more than 5 cm.
How secure is Samsung Pay?
Samsung Pay uses Tokenization, a Secure Environment, and Samsung KNOX to secure your payment information. Additionally, you verify either your fingerprint or a 4-digit PIN when making purchases.
What is Tokenization?
Tokenization is a method of replacing your sensitive payment card information (Card Number, Expiration Date, Security code, etc.) with a device-specific 'Token' which acts as a surrogate value. In mobile payments, Tokens are used to protect your payment information and to reduce the security risks inherent to plastic cards.
What is a Secure Environment, or Trusted Execution Environment?
A Secure Environment is a physically segregated chip in the phone which only allows access to highly sensitive operations/information such as fingerprint and payment information. Normal applications and malware have no access to the information in a Secure Environment.
How is Samsung KNOX used with Samsung Pay?
Samsung Knox checks and protectes the device for malware. If Samsung Knox detects a malicious software, Samsung Pay will be disabled by Samsung Knox.
Does Samsung Pay have access to my bank accounts?
No. Samsung Pay does not have access to your bank accounts.
Does Samsung Pay store my personal/payment information on a server or my device?
No. Samsung does not store your personal/payment information on a Samsung server or the device.
Samsung Pay does not change the way your payment information is stored or handled when you make purchases. Your payment information will continue to be managed by your card network and card issuer.
Only a device-specific Token, which is used to replace your sensitive payment information, is stored on the device.
Will my Samsung Pay information still be on my device if it is formatted?
No. Formatting your device will remove all payment cards registered to your device.
What should I do if my device is lost or stolen? - about Find My Mobile
If your device is lost or stolen, you can use Samsung's Find My Mobile service to Lock Samsung Pay (remotely disable) or to Wipe Samsung Pay (remove all the payment cards registered onto your device).

Which wearables (watch) model supports Samsung Pay in the UAE?
Samsung pay is available on Galaxy Watch Active2 and other Galaxy Watch models*.
How does Samsung Pay work on the wearables (watch)?
Samsung Pay on wearables (watch) supports both MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) and NFC (Near Field Communication) payment technologies, meaning it works almost anywhere you can tap or swipe your credit or debit card. Once you activate Samsung Pay on wearables (watch), you simply press and hold the 'back' key to launch the app, rotate the bezel to select your card, and pay by holding your wearables (watch) near a card or NFC reader, even if you don't have your phone with you.

Note: Enter PIN code when strapping wearables (watch) on your wrist. You don't need to enter PIN again as long as your wearables (watch) is on your wrist.

Can I use Samsung Pay on wearables (watch) on its own? Do I have to keep my phone nearby?
Yes, once Samsung Pay is setup on wearables (watch), you can use it as a standalone payment device while on the go. Your smartphone does not need to be nearby to use Samsung Pay on wearables (watch).

Note:
1. For best results, Samsung Pay on wearables (watch) requires network connection through Wi-Fi or via Bluetooth pairing with compatible smartphone. After Initial setup, Samsung Pay on wearables (watch) can make payment without your phone and a network.
2. Samsung Pay on wearables (watch) must be activated with the user's Android smartphone, running version 4.4 KitKat or above, before they can leverage this function.

How do I install Samsung Pay on wearables (watch)?
Samsung Pay on wearables (watch) is integrated into your wearables (watch) software. Press and hold 'Back' key to open Samsung Pay. If Samsung Pay is not available on your wearables (watch), it may be necessary to update Samsung wearables (watch) via Google Play store and update the wearables (watch) software.
How do I set up Samsung Pay on wearables (watch)?
There are a few easy steps to set up Samsung Pay on wearables (watch):
1. From any Android smartphone running 4.4 KitKat or above, launch the Samsung wearables (watch) app and go to the Samsung Pay companion app. If you do not have a Samsung smartphone, you will first need to download the Samsung wearables (watch) app to complete the above.
2. Activate your Samsung account and tap to add a card.
3. You need to enable Screen lock (tap turn on). Enter your four-digit PIN code on wearables (watch).
4. Either add your card by taking a photo of it (allowing for optical character recognition*) or by entering the card information manually.
5. Once you've finished entering in your card details, press and hold the 'Back' key to open Samsung Pay.

*Optical character recognition (OCR) only reads the card number and expiration date; users must enter the rest of their information, like CVV, manually.
Can I tap and pay with wearables (watch) at any angle?
Samsung Pay on wearables (watch) works comfortably at any angle for users, however for the most seamless payment experience; we encourage users to tap the top edge of the watch interface to the NFC or Magnetic Stripe reader on the point of sale terminal.
What is the Samsung Pay companion app on the phone?
The Samsung Pay companion app on the phone is used to manage the Samsung Pay app on the wearables (watch). It is accessed from a menu in the Samsung wearables (watch) F21application and provides the User Interface to assist card management, notification settings, Terms of Use and transaction history review for Samsung Pay app on wearables (watch).
Do transaction notifications show up if the payment is made by wearables (watch)?
Yes. Notifications are shown on the phone and on the wearables (watch). Notifications can be turned off for either by the User.

When you lock Samsung Pay using Find My Mobile(http://findmymobile.samsung.com/), all payments will be disabled on the device.

How secure is Samsung Pay?
Samsung Pay is very secure payment platform service.

Samsung Pay uses Tokenization, a Secure Environment, and Samsung KNOX to secure your payment information. Additionally, you verify your PIN when making purchases.

Tokenization is a method of replacing your sensitive payment card information (Card Number, Expiration Date, Security code, etc.) with a device-specific 'Token' which acts as a surrogate value. In mobile payments, Tokens are used to protect your payment information and to reduce the security risks inherent to plastic cards.

Samsung Pay does not store the account or credit card numbers of cards on the device, instead using tokenization for transactions. Each time a purchase is made, the Samsung Pay handset sends two pieces of data to the payment terminal. The first is a 16-digit token that represents the credit or debit card number, while the second piece is a one-time code or cryptogram that's generated by the phone's encryption key.

Without a fingerprint scanner, how can I be sure someone won't use my credit or debit cards if I lose my watch?
Samsung Pay on your wearables (watch) protects your card information with the same advanced security as Samsung Pay on your Samsung Galaxy phone, using tokenization, KNOX and PIN protection to make secure payments. Once Samsung Pay is activated on your wearables (watch), your smartwatch will enable the PIN protection. You must enter your PIN each time you put on the wearables (watch), and you won't need to enter your PIN again until you take your wearables (watch) off, making shopping with Samsung Pay on the wearables (watch) simple and secure.
If I lost my wearables (watch) or had it stolen, can someone use my credit or debit card?
No. This is because Samsung Pay will need PIN every time when you put the wearables (watch) on your wrist. Also you can remotely lock or wipe Samsung Pay at http://findmymobile.samsung.com/
What is the maximum number of times the PIN can be entered on the wearables (watch) before cards are deleted?
After 10 wrong tries, the cards on the wearables (watch) will get deleted.
Is the PIN of Samsung Pay on wearables (watch) the same as the wearables (watch) device PIN?
Yes. There is only one secure PIN used on the wearables (watch).
How often does the user have to re-authenticate via PIN?
If the wearables (watch) is on the wrist, users only have to authenticate once before all subsequent payments. If they take the wearables (watch) off their wrist, they have to authenticate each time before putting the wearables (watch) into payment mode.
How many seconds after a user takes the watch off their wrist will they be deauthenticated?
Approximately 3 seconds.
How many seconds after a user triggers the wearables (watch) into payment mode (by doing a Press and Hold on the Back Key), do they have to transact?
Up to 30 seconds.
What types of constraints are there on the PIN?
The PIN cannot be sequential numbers (ascending or descending like 2345 or 8765 is not allowed) and the PIN cannot use the same number for all four digits (e.g. 3333 is not allowed)
Card Registration
What should I do if I lose my original payment card and then receive a replacement card?
The payment cards on Samsung Pay are digital versions of your physical payment cards. If you lose your original payment card and then receive a replacement card, you may need to remove the original payment card from Samsung Pay and register the replacement card.

For your convenience, many card issuers will link your new physical card number to your digital card number in Samsung Pay. This allows you to still have access to your purchasing accounts while you wait for the new physical card to arrive.
How can I register my card into the Samsung Pay app on wearables (watch)?
Go to Samsung wearables (watch) app - Samsung Pay. Cards can be either registered by optical card recognition (OCR) or manually inputting the card information.

Just like the regular Samsung Pay product for the phone, the user will be prompted for identity verification through a text message, email, or phone call.
Do cards already registered in the Samsung Pay product on the phone automatically import to the wearables (watch)?
No. Cards have to be separately registered.
How many cards can I register into the Samsung Pay app on wearables (watch)?
You can register up to 10 payment cards (credit cards and debit cards).

The device should be placed within approximately an inch of the NFC reader in order for the payment to work.
What is NFC?
Near Field Communication or NFC is a method of wirelessly transmitting data using radio waves. Samsung Pay uses NFC to wirelessly transmit payment data to payment terminals with NFC readers.
What is MST?
Magnetic Secure Transmission or MST, is a groundbreaking method of sending data using magnetic waves. MST replicates a card swipe by wirelessly transmitting magnetic waves from the supported Samsung device to a standard card reader. MST turns every card reader into a contactless payment receiver.
What are the device/OS requirements for Samsung Pay on wearables (watch)?
Any Android phone with OS version 4.4 or above which support Samsung wearables (watch) application.
How can I register a card on Samsung Pay using NFC?
Launch the latest version of Samsung Pay app, select Add Card and just tap your Visa card with payWave or Mastercard with PayPass on the back of your mobile device to register it.
What type of cards are supported for NFC in your mobile device?
The NFC reader supports cards with the contactless symbol such as Visa with payWave and Mastercard with PayPass. The embedded chip and antenna enables you to simply wave your card over your mobile device to add it to Samsung Pay.

Are you storing any additional card information to enable the import feature?
No, Samsung Pay does not store any additional data to enable this feature. We only use Reference ID and meta data to enable this feature, not actual card numbers.
What should I do to back up cards?
You don’t need to do anything, since we use meta data already available in our server for this feature.
I deleted a card previously, will it be imported?
No. If you do not have an active card in any device, it won’t be available for import.
How can I get the import feature?
This feature is enabled when you use or upgrade to the latest version of Samsung Pay app.

What is a Merchant PIN?
Merchant PIN is a 4 digit PIN code, which the merchant staff or the cashier will input in the Samsung Pay application at the time of redeeming the Voucher. Once the PIN is entered the Voucher code will be displayed in the Samsung Pay application.
How long a Voucher will be valid?
To make things simple, only valid offers are visible on Samsung Pay. Every voucher has a clear validity period for what days of the week this voucher can be used, this helps to plan your trip.
Can I use same voucher twice?
No, once a voucher is redeemed, it will be marked as used, however, you would be able to purchase the same voucher so long as the offer is still valid.
Can I redeem two vouchers at one outlet at the same time?
Yes, but first you must check the group redemption limit on each voucher as you will not be able to redeem any more than that limit per group, table or booking.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, Customers that purchase vouchers via Samsung Pay are eligible for refunds within 7 days of voucher purchase. Any refund requests after this period will not be accepted.
How can I refund my purchased voucher ?
You can refund a Voucher within 7 days of voucher purchase.

Can I use one voucher for multiple people in beauty and wellness category?
Most beauty and wellness vouchers are one voucher per person.

Is there a way that I can get the location map of the merchant through S-Pay app?
Currently Samsung Pay app doesn’t support location maps. Third party maps needs to be used to find the location.
Can I use the Friday brunch voucher on the evening dinner?
No. But certain merchants have both Brunch and dinner vouchers.
Does vouchers have expiry date?
Yes, all vouchers have an expiry date and its mentioned in the voucher details.
Up to how many vouchers can we use as a group when dining?
As a group, most merchants allow up to 4 vouchers per group. Please go through the voucher usage limit in the voucher details before you purchase the voucher.
What if the merchant is closed during the validity period?
Merchant store details and the availability of the voucher is defined in the details of the voucher, For food and beauty and wellness related merchants, please make prior booking as suggested in the details of the voucher
What if the merchant is permanently closed during the validity period?
If a merchant is permanently closed, the offer will be immediately removed from the Samsung Pay application, and if you have a purchased voucher you will be notified to request for a refund.
Is internet connection required to purchase and redeem vouchers on Samsung Pay?
Yes, as our offers are fetched in real time, Internet connection is required to purchase and redeem an offer.
At the time of redemption, if I press "Use" but the merchant doesn’t accept the offer, Can cancel my redemption?
Yes, redemption can be cancelled if the merchant PIN is not entered.
Once a merchant PIN is entered redemption cannot be cancelled.
After the merchant entered the PIN, I closed the Samsung Pay application, Can I view the Voucher code again?
Yes, if you go to "My Vouchers" tab in the Samsung Pay application and open the offer, you will be able to view the Voucher code.
Is it required to press "Mark as used" after the Voucher code is noted down by the merchant.
Yes, Once the Voucher code is noted down by the merchant pressing the "Mark as Used" button will mark the voucher as "Redeemed".
Please make sure not to press it before the merchant notes it down to give you the 50% off.
What currency is applied to purchase a voucher in Samsung Pay application?
As the offers are for United Arab Emirates, AED (United Arab Emirates Dirham) will be the default currency.

Yes, You can change your mobile number on Samsung pay vouchers, but each time you change your account will have to be verified using SMS OTP.
I have requested for an OTP, but have not received it yet. How do I proceed?
The voucher provider does its best to deliver the SMS OTP almost immediately, but sometimes due to the congestion in the SMS gateway delivery of SMS gets delayed.
In such instances we suggest to request for the OTP again after some time.
After using the voucher in S-pay app, how should I pay for the bill amount?
We recommend to use Samsung Pay for payments as it’s simple, secure and payable anywhere.
Can I use the voucher of the same merchant but of different location?

How to purchase multiple vouchers at one time?
You can purchase one voucher at a time, each voucher has to be purchased separately.
Is the 50% discount including the VAT ?

What will happen if we dine with a group of more than 8 people?
