I have had mixed results with this Fit Plus flash drive. It initially works well and is very small and unobtrusive. However when transferring a large amount of data, over 100 GB, for example, the drive gets very hot. I have had 2 drives fail. One was a 128 GB drive and the other a 256 GB drive. After several large GB transfers, including reading and writing, the drives froze up and stopped working. I suspect because of over heating. There is very little surface area to dissipate the generated heat. I have had better luck with the Samsung Bar Plus drives, which also get very hot, but apparently do have sufficient surface area to dissipate the heat.

They last and are durable enough to stay in place on portable devices pulling them in and out of cases. They've even stood up to the toughest test children. I've used them in 2 of my kids portable devices and have yet to have any issues or to have one break! These things are the best, only downside is how small they are, ironically it's also one of their biggest positive things. They are very fast for read and write!! I truly can't come up with any negatives, if there are any I haven't needed to deal with them. 😁

I bought a few of these some time back and used them for backup purposes and transfering files between computers. Since it's so small, it can be hard to remove from a brand new computer as the sockets on the motherboard I/O panel are hard to get to and are extremely tight. This is good to have a great connection but improvements to the grip/handle of the flash drive would be great. Something that grips your fingers better. So I recommend these devices for portable or semi permanent installations or front panel of a PC, not the back. Also I should mention that it is fast for a USB drive! That saves hours of waiting for files to move. A 512GB and 1TB version would be awesome.

If you have used any SBC like the Raspberry Pi I'm sure your familiar with the problem as most modern small devices have a cluster of USB ports that are so tightly crammed together most flash drives don't fit at all! Well not with Samsung's FIT flash drives. Not only are they small enough to occupy all 4 USB ports on my Pi they also have USB 3.1 transfer speeds and large storage sizes. These are the best drives you can get if you're in a similar situation. They're also often on sale and quite affordable.

i kept this drive in the usb port of my computer for about two months. the drive was left in the usb port as suggested in the boilerplate. media was bitlocker encrypted. after tow months of occasional use (maybe once a week), the drive reports "no media". all attempts to access the drive have failed - on several different pc's. it looks like the controller chip cannot talk to the nand memory chip. as a result, i have a working usb flash drive with no storage memory. for all of this drives supposed physical durability, it sure failed quickly and quietly. waterproof? x-ray proof? how about able to withstand normal use. good thing it's waterproof, because it's going in the toilet! do not trust your data to this device!

After receiving this little guy in the mail to now I've used this to transfer files back and forth from my Note8 and s9 and I have to say this guy is fast! I've had not one issue with transfer speeds even using otg from my phones to move all of those large HD pictures and HD videos to make space on them; unlike others that I've used that have taken awhile to transfer. Great compact design for 128gb making it very pocket and keychain friendly for me who's always on the go, that of which means no more snapping them as well!

It's super easy and and it's fast transferring straight from my phone to the flash drive without connecting to a computer. It is self explanitory, i have so much storage left, Saving is a breeze. Its small yet tough design is a must have, easily carry in my pocket or on my keys or purse and not worry abiut losing it, i carry it in my galaxy buds fe case wherever I go. If I could give 10 stars I would. I highly recommend this product.

I lost it once among the papers and clutter on my desk and had a hard time finding it on my desk. I bought it to back up my photos and videos. I backed them all up and it took about 120 GB, so I have over half of the room left. I am considering buying another one just because they are so amazing.

I have been using this same drive for years! It's still working Grate! I am a Level 1 computer technician, I use the drive to store ISO Images of Operating Systems, and Diagnostic Software, I have Dozens of Versions of Linux Several Versions of Windows, and over two Dozen Different Diagnostic apps! all on the FiT 256gig, But now it's getting full! So How about Making bigger Sizes !? 512g, 1TB & 2 TB If possible how about A USB passthrough so I can plug the FIT in and still have my USB Port Free.

I no.longer have to.worry about the old USB sticking out of the side, bottom, or back of my devices. I use it on a tablet, on a chromebook, on laptops, on a phone with a USB-C to USB 3.1 adaptor (not included) and on the back of my TV for displaying photos/media/watching films using a media player (not included) on my TV screen. My only regret has been not buying the 256 GB or 512 GB models.

this drive fits way to tight, requiring me to brace my laptop while inserting and removing it. it almost feels as if it's expanding the usb port from all the pressure the drive exerts on it, something that doesn't at all settle well with me when using on expensive laptops. it'd be a real shame to have a port fail because of the bulkiness of this drive. i have a couple older verbatim drives that are ever so slightly tight while inserting, and then click into place just right. they also have a minimal housing enclosure which can make them a bit tricky to get out. however, the housing has beveled grooves that run around the outer edge that can be easily gripped with a fingernail. also, their low profile allows a laptop to be stored into a sleeve without removal. thank you and good day.

i don't know what to say but the drive works well and seem to be built better than all the others out there. i've not tested the speeds because it is just for files, and files transfer very fast on most modern drives. i have two that i trust with all my personal files which are accessed and modified every day for years now. great for laptops to avoid damage when moving around with the laptop. just the best drive on the market as far as i'm concerned.

I bought it specifically for my phone to add games and movies and stuff to and it works really well even with an old system running Win10. I loved it so much I bought it's 256GB USB-C version and I like that one even better bc it's way faster on my S24 Ultra. But this one is great for moving big files between my phone and older computer.

I have carried this USB memory in my front right pocket every day for the past 3 years. I got hacked and I have the proof I need of the hacker's evil deeds. I have photos, docs, and keys stored on it in case he ever decides to rear his ugly head again. I work construction and carry a vast array of other items in my right front pocket as well: torx bits, drill bits, screws, whatever else I use on the job site that can fit in that pocket, I've got it in there. I've braced windows on my lap and crushed it to the point I had to straighten it to get it to fit into the USB port, I've dropped it from 5 stories up and had to shift thru red clay dirt to find it, it's been wet from sweat more than it's been dry.... I don't know what you folks made this off, but it's indestructible!!!

i have been using this flash drive for 2 months now. after a month it started disconnecting and reconnecing to the computer. and now it's been giving me errors all day which has resulted is lost data and data that has relocated from one folder to another. love my samsung phone, hate my samsung flash drive. i read that some other usb flash drives offer some type of recovery. would be nice if this one did.

I bought got this a few days ago and it works way better than My previous San-disk of half the size, but i am concerned about the assembling as the part the vertical side that says "Samsung" seems to move when i rub the end of and make clicking sound, I dont know if this intentional but id like an answer, I could send video. this meets my standard in functionality just need some clarification.

Cannot use Samsung FIT Plus as intended on a Macbook Pro. Samsung markets FIT Plus as being so small that you can leave it in your computer's USB port as if it is permanent, additional storage for your computer. When Macbook Pro sleeps FIT Plus is improperly disconnected. On waking from sleep, the OS warns that the FIT Plus was not ejected properly. This can result in data loss.

I bought 3 of the 128g flash drives since I like the Samsung brand, unfortunately I should have performed more research. I purchased last year in Oct. 1 of the 3 that I purchased stopped working the instant I tried using it, the 2nd stopped working properly after roughly 6 months, it started disconnecting constantly to the point where it was unusable. I will not be purchasing these again.

This flash drive looks and feels extremely durable. Some drives just feel flimsy but this one, after handling it for just a moment, makes you realize "okay, my data is actually safe from the everyday wear and tear that everything is inevitably going to go through". The drive has a very professional aesthetic to it, and is still able to pull off looking stylish. It even has a slot for a keychain ring. It fits nicely into any device without fear of it being weighted down. On the far edge of the drive, it displays "Samsung" with that same professional style to it. I would highly recommend this line of flash drives to anyone. The form factor is my favorite to date, and still maintains blazing fast speeds and professional aesthetic.

i have 6 of these drives that have been in use for about a year. 2 of the drives failed in the first few weeks of use. it was more costly to return these for a refund than it was to buy replacements. 2 failed at the six month point and the last two are still running. these are useful for file transfers, but i don't use them any longer for backup protection.

Just found out I cannot put a thumb drive in the ports that aren't FAT32 which is used no larger than 32gb drives. I demand to use more, but how can I make Windows allow me to use FAT32 instead of exFAT or NTSF?

there is a reason the don't include the write speed in the specs- its 50mb/s. i've tried every port and originating drive on my computer and it maxes out at 50mb/s. it takes 42 minutes to fill this drive from an nvme. had i known that, i wouldn't have purchased it, but its too cheap to be worth returning. otherwise, the size is great.

It is great, much faster than my old USB stick, currently using it to store music, transferring the mp3 files from my laptop to the USB is extremley quick. The speeds are a day and night difference compared to other USBs, the size is also great, also has an area to put a keyring in it, put it on your keys, or your bag, it is great!

I set up a full and encrypted installation of Linux on this device for use on multiple computers in school, at a friends house or at home. I have bought this just to store my photos but now I am using this as a dual boot USB drive on my mac with windows running on it. It functions for me just like an SSD drive with no heat issues as long as I am using my windows on drive as a moderate use. Love it, its small, elegant and can be hidden in small spaces(hahaha).

bought this flashdrive to use in a digital photoframe. this flashdrive does not stay connected, it powers off/disconnects automatically after a short period of time, and i end up having to unplug and plug back into the photoframe everytime. it does the same thing when i plugged it into my computer. pretty much useless...

Compre este USB para el coche por sus especificaciones, aguanta golpes, calor, agua, imanes, rayos X. Pero al final después de 2 años ha dejado de funcionar, no lo puedo leer desde el coche ni desde ningún PC. Mejor comprar algo más económico, durará lo mismo en el coche pero te ahorrarás dinero.

I would not particularly recommend it and it's just basic I suppose I should have gotten some more storage but it was sufficient reserved his purpose easy to use it easy to navigate. It was actually pretty durable in my purse it did not break and I do seem to be kind of rough on certain items that I carry around in my purse I'm a little bit reckless. It was kind of playing looking a little oversized and I actually thought it was one of those fire stick things or one of those Alexa whole smart home device connectors due to his parents could have been a little sleeker. It was definitely compatible although I do wish that there was a feature that you could actually use the flash drive on your phone that would make it so much better for those who do not have laptops overall it did its job it was nothing special it was easy to navigate usage capabilities it was not very attractive it could have been a little sleeker

I bought this and ran it through a test to see what would fit, to see if I was getting the 256G advertised. The drive reports 244G available (so already no, but I expected that drop) but will only fit 200G of actual files. Disappointed.
