one of the problems we are facing with this particular model is that the tv takes some time to prepare for actual start and launch of applications. More annoying is the problem that often comes with Netflix application. Most often, it keeps refreshing any program we watch. This problem comes for sure in one out of three attempts. Have already made the technical department of Samsung aware of this issue and after some trouble shooting it could not be solved and we were given a ref no. It should have been solved in a day or two according to the representative but unfortunately it wasn't. We are thinking of returning this model and buy from some other brand.

Hi Team, I am not sure how the SMART TV apps developed. According to me Apps should be developed first before providing the TV to market. I bought a TV recently of model UN40J5200. I don't find lot of apps for my TV, not able to share properly anything from Laptop to TV through wifi, Then i believe how i will say this is SMART TV. I expect at least 1 or 2 apps for Remote Management (like Samremote, Remotie, myTifi for iPhone), have some way to share the Browser from Laptop to TV or something. Another popular app not there is Verizon FiOS TV. As i don't find all apps to Support this SMART TV i wouldn't say this TV is SMART yet.

I had to buy a new TV because my 1.5 year old Sharp 32" LED TV motherboard blew in constant 70 degree temperatures and less than 2 hours of watch time per week. Sharp customer service said it had to operate under constant temperatures and no more than 4 hours of watch time in one sitting. Isn't it a TV that's supposed to be watched? In any event, so far, I am thoroughly impressed with this Samsung 40 inch LED Smart TV. Variety of options for Sound, Picture, and Resolution even with the most basic package. It even has a great picture with direct cable hook up and no HD box. The Smart functions are also fun. Looking to learn more about those in the near future.

I already have a Samsung 6350 Model that I love. This TV, the 5200 model, was a gift from my husband to be used in our office/workout room. We decided on this less expensive model since it would not be getting as much use. I was able to attach the base and set up the TV by myself in minutes. We don't have our cable TV hook up yet, but I was able to connect to my Wifi and start my Netflix and Amazon services in minutes. The picture is very clear. The TV was very responsive to commands from the remote. I connected to the internet using the browser supplied just to test it. I will update this review after I have more experience with this product, but so far, so good.

Samsung 40” LED Smart TV - J5200 series Having used the TV for two months, I note the following issues: 1- The left & right edges of many TV programs are cut off and not visible. This is especially noticeable on news & weather broadcasts. 2- If the viewers are not directly in front of the TV, the colors are faded and washed out. This is a 40” screen and everyone can’t be seated on a straight line in front of the screen. The viewing angle is too narrow. 3- Excessive Audio Positions – It takes too long to change volume level. The remote batteries will wear out quickly with 100 audio levels. Would not recommend this TV to anyone! I expected better from Samsung!

Every feature of this product is great with one exception. It seems I have to go into the network settings everyday to refresh the internet connection and then there are no problems for the rest of the day. If I forget to do the refresh, the TV goes into some type of 'wait' state for a while. The remote control has no effect. After several minutes I am able to turn off the TV, wait a few seconds, turn the TV back on and refresh the network. It is a nuisance. Maybe the modem is too far away from the TV but I have a Samsung DVD that does not experience the problem. I am not sure what is the problem. Otherwise I am very pleased with the product. I like Samsung products.

Es Lento, comparado con un serie 4 es aún peor. Encima por "recomendación del fabricante" tiene que estar cerca del router para que funcione cuando otros dispositivos funcionan perfecto a la misma distancia. No lo recomiendo

Para acceder a Netflix tenemos que intentar 7 u 8 veces durante 2 a 5 minutos, llamamos a servicio técnico (buen servicio, rápido y cordial) y la TV no tienen ningún problema, el problema es la TV! su procesador es así de lento! Mejor es invertir un poco mas en un mejor televisor.

This is a pretty good budget Smart TV, and is great if you don't have a lot of space due to its small form factor. Screen is clear, and the smart features really make it useful compared to my older TV. Major cons are the lack of snappiness in the UI (takes several seconds for the TV to register clicks on the remote, aggravating when doing late-night surfing) and a lack of well-known apps in the Smart Hub (a lot of strange foreign stuff that's barely a step up from doing a random Google search.) Overall, a very decent TV, but if you have the size and cash for something bigger, go for it

Ever since the introduction of the Galaxy S4 I have long awaited my first Samsung Smartv. I couldn't wait to have a TV that could connect to the internet, display my computer screen, and mirror my phone's screen. My J5200 40"LED barely lives up to my expectations. My first disappointment was that only a small percentage of video Apps are even available for my TV. Next was the inability to mirror my phone's screen with sound on a consistent basis. I plan to utilize the TV with no cables if that possible using Directv equipment. It will be interesting to see if this is possible.

I was shopping for awhile for a new tv in our home. I did research and reviews on different brands. Also pricing was also important to me. I wanted to be able to get great reviews. I seen this model I online and did research on it. It had great reviews and people were really satisfied with this tv. I ordered and picked it up. We set it on with mounting on the wall. I was really impressed with the color and great picture on the screen. My and I followed instructions and set it up . It was really easy for us. We really enjoy the smart hub and it also was easy to set up as well. I love my new television. I would really tell others about this model. The only thing I wish is my room was bigger for a larger size of tv.

I have been a Samsung customer for many years. The quality of Samsung's products impressed me from the start. I have not been disappointed by this Smart TV. The picture quality is beautiful. It's user-friendly and comes with a great amount of features. The only issue I've noticed is that it sometimes takes a few seconds for a channel to display when I try to change channels. We have very basic cable, though, so it may be more of an issue with our cable than an issue with the TV. Regardless, I highly recommend this TV...great picture, great sound, great price!

Just received my TV yesterday. Actually this is my second one, the first one arrived three days after I ordered it but was damaged. I got online and reported it to a CSR and within 10 minutes she had taken care of getting my replacement. Fast friendly service from Samsung.com! The TV so far has definitely met my expectations. Crisp, clear picture and pretty good sound. We are planning to get a sound bar soon. Only thing you may need to do when you first set it up is adjust the picture. Mine came with the contrast and brightness turned all the way up.

The overall quality of the instructions that came with the TV ""STINK""! Starting with the initial installation and set up, through the initial activation of the TV with power on, there is a severe lack of detailed instructions for the average user. The lack of decent information on the multitude of features contained in the ""remote"" is appalling!! It would extremely beneficial if SAMSUNG wuld ensure that all future products sold contain instructions well written in English, that the common user can understand then sit back an enjoy the purchase. I purchased a new one (sort of an upgrade) I love the picture quality and performance of my Samsung TVs and the durability as I have had my last one for over 5 year (with no type of problems)., most of my other TVs have died before or at 5 years. The only suggestion I have for this TV is that it should have included a swivel base. My old Samsung has a swivel base and I thought this model would. But, It's still a great TV and I have recommended this product to family and friends.

The TV is pretty good. I'm used to the Smart Hub because we have another older Samsung TV so the slowness a lot of people are talking about I'm just used to. The one thing I don't like is the remote, its small, doesn't have a colored smart hub button. I just find it easier with the stand-out type of button especially when its a bit dark in the room. I also wish the remote had a little light in the back when you press the buttons for convenience again in the dark. Overall I think I got a good deal and its a pretty good tv.

We just got this TV today. Installation was easy and intuitive. The difficult part was registering with the remote control for a Microsoft Account which is necessary to use the browser. The picture is absolutely stunning quality even though we are receiving an online signal rather than satellite or cable. I do wish that there were more HDMI connections. We have an Amazon Fire Stick which works well with the TV. We also have Netflix which works well with the Fire Stick. We can also receive many online streaming channels.

I am just getting acquainted with my smart TV. My son is assisting me with learning all of its attributes. The more I learn about it the more I am impressed with its technology. I'm learning how to use my smartphone with it to get the best performance. I'm also learning about the applications that I can download and some of them that came with the TV. It will take me sometime before I can use it to its full potential but it is a learning process that I'm looking forward to. I would recommend this product to anybody.

Bought this Smart set for my bedroom to replace a 37" 1080i which connects to the net with a media player. No problems with connection and setup, this Samsung TV is my 4th, starting years ago with a 50" DLP ! Samsung Support is very good. I had once a problem with my 60" flat screen, emailed Samsung and they tried to help me fix the problem remotely. When it did not work, they sent a tech to my house, he looked at the defect and immediately ordered a replacement screen (remember, it's a 60" LED, no small part).

Very disappointed and I have 3 Samsung TV's, This is my first experience with a Smart TV and it is horrible. I have other products that work better then the smart TV for cable free TV. TV goes black, long time for Smart Hub to catch, Very slow in switching to content. I have a high internet speed in my house and this is the first time I am disappointed in Samsung product. Finding apps that Samsung do not show is difficult. I also am disappointed that sling TV and PlayStation Vue is not an app for the TV.

Primarily purchased this TV for the smart tv functions, such as netflix and other internet viewing. Setup was fairly straight forward, although I have noticed the tv operates at a considerably slow pace. When first turned on, it will take several minutes to prepare the tv and if you internet is not running at peak performance it will pause the video to buffer and sometimes will actually freeze up and have to be shut off and turned back on. Overall it has great picture and sound for the class of tv.

My amazing boyfriend bought me this tv for Christmas and did such an amazing job picking it out. So easy to use and great picture quality. I had to keep it neutral on the pricing as I did not know how much he spent on it but well worth whatever he spent for it. Picture can go from dim to vivid depending on your comfort level and the volume can go from low to high slowly but its so unassuming that it makes it nice especially when there's someone sleeping in the next room. Good buy for sure!

I bought this product to watch live TV, and TV shows and movies on demand. Occasionally I also view my own videos on the big screen and control and search using my tablet and smartphone as well. The color and contrast settings, as well as the overall picture quality out of the box are terrific. Sometimes the colors wash out while viewing at an angle. Sound is great for built in speakers. Overall this model is a great value if you are looking for a quality brand on a budget.

This TV has great HD quality. It's super customizable so if you want a brighter or sharper image you may do so. It connects wirelessly to your router (and is pretty fast) without having to use an external source (i.e. Xbox, chromecast, etc...) The only downside i would say is that it takes a while to connect to internet from the moment you turn on the TV. Once it's connected there's no problem, but it's takes a while. Overall it's a great TV, didn't cost too much either!

Although, I am not a technical guy, I am a hands on person. This product came with a excellent user manual (which new products), I have purchased recently did not (i.e. phone, other TV). I dislike an on screen user or internet manual . The TV I purchased is user friendly and has a great picture, compared to another TV I have (Vizio). This was my first flat screen tv. I have always had old tvs, So I really have no real basis for comparison. But I love the product! The smart Hub is great! I stream my Amazon Prime videos and Netflix and it works great. Had a little bit of trouble with the Smart Hub at first, but 15 minutes with Samsung support and they took control of my tv and fixed it and it has worked great ever since! I love this tv and would purchase it again only maybe a larger tv. lol

I had a 26" Samsung HD. I replaced it with this tv and was pleased with the value and ease of setup. My old set still works ,but this one is a lot lighter and the colors are so brilliant. It was a no brainer when choosing in the store, you could see the difference between the Samsung and my other choice. I am hoping I will get the same great service out of this one as my old set. time will tell but with Samsung I don't you can go wrong.

We received this TV as a gift, but it is everything that we might have wanted and, knowing what was paid for the product, I feel it was a very good price for this TV. We have only had it for a few weeks. So far, all is good. I was impressed to be able to get a response from Samsung customer support over the Christmas holiday. That was a plus. You wouldn't want to try to watch this from the side, as picture quality is best face-on.

At first the tv was hard to figure out in some area, but now everything is working good. The support people was very good in helping me in every which they could for me to understand my SMART FEATURE. My daughter bought the same tv as she saw how good the Samsung tv is. It's my second Samsung tv I have. About a year ago I told my next door negibor about my Samsung tv and he went and bought one for himself and one for his brother.

I am using this TV now since for more than two months and never went into any problems. I have Chromecast and XBox One attached to its HDMI ports, play games with beautiful graphics and full HD features. I have plenty of apps installed and they don't take much time to open, and that is why I love this piece the most. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just got it as a gift but it beats my old set. I like that it's light weight. I had to get help to move my old heavy set out of my apartment. It connected immediately to my Wi-Fi. After that, it took a little longer to hook up to my indoor antenna. It might help if there were a few more instructions in the paper user manual. Set looks great, plays terrific, reception excellent (in mid-town NYC) with an old antenna.

This tv is a nice tv for your bedroom. It has a really nice picture and for the price you can not beat it. However, when using the smart tv function. The sound goes out when using apps. I have had this issue with Netflix, Time Warner Cable, and Hulu. I will be watching a movie or a show and about 45 mins in the sounds goes out for about 15 secs, comes back on for about 3 secs, then repeat. It is very annoying!

I received this as a gift and love it. It was easy to install - very simple directions for set up. It took about 30 minutes from start to finish. Connection to my TV service provider was simple and the directions and help on the TV itself was a snap to do. I even connected to internet with no problems (and I am in no way tech savvy). I LOVE my new SAMSUNG! Thank you for making all of the above so easy.

Sometimes when close-up on faces, the faces seems to waver/shift a bit, and when high contrast with a quiet background, the contrast item wavers relative to the background - it seems to float. I notice this most with Netflix streaming, but it does occur on a lesser frequency from DVDs. It can be slightly disturbing until you get used to it, but it fails to distract from the other qualities of this TV.

The purchase of this Samsung LED TV was to replace a much older model TV set that just quit working and could not be repaired. I have two hearing aids and am a shut-in in my home. Only issue i have with this product is while watching Netflix , The sound goes in and out , we have been in contact with Netflix, which did not resolve the problem, they fill it is a problem with the TV . We have reset the internet , we reset the TV, and reset Netflix, no resolution at this time. According to Netflix the TV may need an update. It is great TV , except for the one small hiccup..

This TV takes about two minutes before you can use the Smarthub and select your channel. It doesn't seem like a long time, but it gets very annoying. The sound is poor. It is a bit like sound coming from out of a cardboard box. Just a little bit of an echo. The sleep timer is not at all convenient. It takes more than ten button pushes to activate and set the sleep timer. The picture is good.

I bought this tv to watch Netflix and the app drops the sound after 30 or so minutes. I've tried so many different things and I couldn't come up with a solution to this problem. I am truly disappointed in Samsung. Lately it seems like none of your products work correctly. I shouldn't have to try and find a solution to a product I just bought. If you are planning to use a fire stick or Apple TV this TV is probably fine but it has ticks if you use the Smart Hub. Netflix sound goes out sometimes and the smart hub doesn't come on with the tv. It takes about a minute or two to come on after turning on the tv. It gives the message "preparing the tv". I probably would have shopped around more had I known these things in advance.

I've had this TV for a couple of months now and there has been an issue recently with it turning itself off constantly. It will turn itself off so I'll turn it back on and it will only stay on for another 5 seconds or so then it will turn itself off again. Too bad. The picture was beautiful and I love everything about the TV except the fact that it doesn't work.

I really like the tv. The display is really nice. I loved how light the tv is compared to my previous flat screen. My only complaint is I cannot get half the channels I regularly use on the smart hub. The channel selection is severely limited. I cannot use CBS now, HBO now among others. On the upside I guess it will save me subscription money haha.

The tv overall is excellent and tool bar is great, the only problem is the netflix app. It run in retrieving the next episode it can find it. If you stay on a move is start running I just hate that. i rather click on lt to start. Right now I us my blue ray player to watch netflix with no problems. After a fair bit of research I found this tv to be the best value for for what you get. It's the best priced Smart tv in the 40" size. Setup was smooth and easy. The preloaded apps are convenient. And the picture quality is pretty good. You would have to pay at least twice that for 4K. My eyesight isn't that good anyway. Just a good value.

I am overall happy with the quality of this Samsung tv. The picture quality is great. The apps that you can access are also nice. I do not like the set up of the smart hub though. I feel like it could be a bit more personalized. You can't default the apps you want which is annoying but manageable. Maybe a consideration for future models

Pros: Looks good Thin Lightweight Cons: Doesn't play well with my Samsung soundbar. I have to use two remotes, one to control the tv, another to control the volume. It's probably not an issue if you chose a different samsung tv/soundbar combination, but this should come standard for all samsung products. I hate having multiple remotes.

The only thing that was a problem was installing the screws that attach the base to the unit. I have small fingers and I had difficulty putting the screws in a confined area. After numerous attempts I was able to screw them into the unit. I would think that people with larger fingers would also experience the same difficulty.

We had no problem setting up the TV when we got it home, and it has a beautiful picture. I am however having a problem getting a keyboard to pop up so I can sign in to an internet site. I am reading the instructions, and the keyboard is supposed to pop up, but so far it hasn't. I will keep trying though. I love it so far.

I bought Samsung for its excellent picture quality and this is what it delivers ! TV is very light and too easy to set up. The sound quality is really good and amplified voice. Most popular apps are pre-installed so no need to download. Cons: SmartHub loads slow so you have to wait atleast 5-10 seconds.

I bought this 40" TV for my bedroom. It has wonderful features like the sound adjustment capabilities, WiFi connection and the picture is excellent. I had a Samsung TV prior to this one and find their picture quality to be superior. My old TV lasted about 10 years. I am hopeful this one has a long life as well.

I bought this thinking that I would be able to stream NBC and CBS, but it will not allow Adobe flash player. I do not want to subscribe to a middle man streaming service. I could have bought a much less expensive TV to hook up as a monitor. You tube is the only thing I occasionally stream directly with this TV.

I love my new Samsung Smart Tv.The picture is very crisp and colorful.The only thing I could complain would be that it takes a minute to switch channels.Might be my Direct TV or wireless internet that's causing this,but not too sure....and this is definitely not a deal breaker.I would purchase this TV again.

this is my first purchase of a big screen tv , the smart tv does what i want it to do and I am enjoying it greatly, I did not have to get the most expensive model to get all the features and quality that I wanted. I love this smart TV it has great picture colors and bright definition, It is light weight and the remote is easy to move trougth it and find what ever program you are looking for no matter if is on the internet or in any of the apps that come with it. It seems to be very adaptable, to meet any of my needs. I would like a written manual, instead of a download, but that's how it is now a days. I bought it new, easy set, and I like that it truly has a web browser. My last tv said it was a smart tv, but it did not have a full web browser. This one does.

Our whole family has really been enjoying our new tv. Now we all share tv time together some each night whereas before with our old tv and converter box, no one wanted to watch channels that didn't come in. This is so much better. We were given this awesome TV for Christmas. It is the best TV we have had. The picture is great, you can do nearly any thing on it. Love that you can get on the internet and Netflix with out another device in between. I am still learning all the features it has to offer. My teens love it though.

The convenient price is determined by the slow Samsung browser and the incomplete apps and features lists. But you don't have to use their browser. I'm mirroring the TV with my smartphone or tablet using TV Cast app and I watch whatever I want. The HD images are great quality and warm colours.

I chose samsung as a service award and am happy with the product.Its use as a smart tv is bringing more and more pleasant surprises as I discover its utility with my pc. But I found I had a defective screen when I first set up. It was repaired quickly by a samsung tv shop and free of charge.

Just prior to the Super Bowl we decided to replace our 19" tv at the foot of our bed with a Samsung 40" LED tv. We are 70 years old and we can now see the score of the game while lying in bed with the tv about 8 feet away. Very clear and sharp picture and a real joy to watch the game on!

This Smart TV is a very good price for so many features. It runs relatively smoot. Being able to go directly to the hub and open thended applications is very useful. Though the TV is not as pretty as others it gets the job done. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a smart tv.

Really like this. Connects to the internet well for internet television. Only thing is will not let me do is download the adobe player to watch cbs.com or abc.com. Really like watching shows missed on those network websites. Plays youtube very well. Have not tried others yet. ] Wayne

i thought i was getting a current tv but turns out the tech on it was already old. not having arc on it mad my a/v receiver incompatible with it. the picture is decent but was disappointed not being able to connect surround sound. i do blame myself but it now makes a good second tv.

I love the TV and it has great a picture. I do wish the sleep function was not so buried in the settings. Also disappointed that it does not have the Kodi app in their list of apps since that was the reason I purchased this TV. I hope Samsung will add this app in the near future.

This television practically installs itself. Just plug it in, give it access to Wi-Fi and you're good to go. It simply does the rest for you. I am still experimenting with the fun features, but so far am completely impressed with the Smart TV. Picture is lovely, and sounds great.

The little user manual is available in three forms - the paper copy, downloadable copy, and on-screen copy. All three are the same thing and nearly useless - only 3 pages of instructions and 18 pages of other stuff. One of the pages is about the remote control and its buttons.

This TV was a great value for the money. The picture quality is good considering I use it as a secondary TV. However, it is really slow when acreasing the Smart hub features. At the time of writing this article, I am having problems accessing applications on the smart hub.
