Indicator light does not turn on while charging my Galaxy S8/S8+. Why is this?

Samsung is aware of this symptom which may appear on some limited S8/S8+ devices and this issue has already been resolved with a software update which will be available in the coming weeks. Therefore, please check for updates to your device software regularly via the Smart Switch PC or FOTA.
