How do I stop the 'charged paused voltage too high' message on my Samsung Galaxy S II?

The "charging paused voltage too high" error message can occur erroneously due to an update which has caused old system settings to clash with new ones.

Please follow the steps below to reset the battery indicator and hopefully solve this problem:

1. Remove the battery from your phone and then re-insert the battery after waiting 40 minutes.

2. Turn your phone on and allow the battery to fully discharge.

3. Charge your phone fully. Do not interrupt the charge or use your phone until it is fully charged.

4. On the Home screen touch Settings and then touch Back up and reset to perform a factory reset.

If after doing the above the error message still erroneously occurs it suggests there may be a hardware fault. Please click here to find the location and contact details of the Samsung service centre closest to you so you can arrange for an engineer to examine your device.
