When Streaming videos the Picture Blink or Change Quality, Why?

Last Update Date : Jul 26. 2018

Samsung Blu-ray players and Blu-ray Home Theater system use Adaptive Streaming, a process that adjusts the quality of video delivered based on changing network conditions to ensure the best possible experience.

For example : if you connect to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) at 8 Mbps it does not mean you will have 8 Mbps available at all times since Bandwidth can vary. A 8 Mbps connection may increase or decrease based on the current network conditions which causes video quality to fluctuate as well.

Adaptive streaming adjusts the bit rate of the video to adapt to the changing network conditions. However, these changes in video quality can produce a momentary blank signal or a ‘blink’, this is normal.

NOTE : If you are experiencing severe changes to the video quality contact your ISP and router company to troubleshoot the fluctuations of your network speed.
