If the Galaxy mobile device is frozen and unresponsive, you may need to perform a soft reset or force restart it.

To restart the device, press and hold the Power key and the Volume down key simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it. 

How to restart Samsung Mobile Device?

Please note: Location of Volume and Side Keys may differ from illustration depending on model.

If the device remains frozen or unresponsive after restarting, there are some actions that you can try to help correct this symptom:

1 Use the Device maintenance menu to help optimize the device and check for Malware
2 Create memory space
3 Check for software updates for your device
4 Check your device in Safe mode:
• Shut down the device
• Press and hold the Power button. Release when Samsung logo appears and immediately press the Volume down button
5 Perform a Factory data reset of the device by tapping Settings > General Management > Reset

Before performing the factory data reset, remember to backup all important data stored in the device
