Samsung's Debut Participation at ISH 2023 Yields Prestigious “Design Plus powered by ISH” Award for the EHS Mono HT Quiet Heat Pump

The ISH trade fair takes place every two years and the Design Plus competition rewards future-proof products, which demonstrate an optimum combination of sustainability, aesthetic appeal and functionality.

Samsung Electronics Air Conditioner Europe (SEACE) received the “Design Plus Powered by ISH” award at ISH 2023 for its innovative, high-temperature, air to water heat pump, the EHS Mono HT Quiet. ISH is a key industry platform for HVAC + water, and this year was Samsung’s first time participating at the internationally renowned event.

“Solutions for a sustainable future” was the overarching theme of the event, and for the heating sector this referred to “innovations that cut energy consumption in buildings, increase energy efficiency and take greater account of renewable energies.” At the fair, Samsung joined other market players in showcasing a comprehensive range of climate solutions, for both the commercial and residential sectors.

EHS Mono HT Quiet clinches Design Plus award in the category: heating / air conditioning

The “Design Plus powered by ISH” competition awards the most future-oriented, trend-setting products showcased at the trade fair. This year, a grand total of 133 entries were received from 88 companies, across 23 countries globally. A jury of four experts evaluated all the entries in terms of innovation, ecology and design and according to them, the 2023 competition was influenced by the theme of sustainability and resource conservation1. Samsung’s heat pump, the EHS Mono HT Quiet, won the Design Plus award in the category of heating / air conditioning.

The EHS Mono R290 is Samsung’s newest mono-bloc, high temperature heat pump. Equipped with Propane (R290), a natural refrigerant, it offers two options for the market: a pump integrated solution that facilitates easy installation, and another unit (without the pump), to give flexibility to the installer in selecting suitable hydronic components on site. The EHS Mono R290 will be available later this year.

The award-winning EHS Mono HT Quiet, is a stylishly designed, high temperature heat pump that combines advanced features and new technologies to achieve hot water temperatures of up to 70°C2 for domestic heating purposes. Quiet Mark certified3, it operates at sound pressure levels as low as 35 dB(A)4, using a 4-step quiet mode. Additionally, the EHS Mono HT Quiet is easy to install and maintain and is capable of reliably providing 100% heating performance5 at temperatures as low as -25°C6.

EHS Cloud Service is a new, cloud-based solution designed to empower technical partners to remotely optimize an EHS unit’s performance, as well resolve issues in real-time, and provide proactive service and support to customers. Some of its key features include remote service escalation, live updates, automated reporting, and energy consumption overviews7. The EHS Cloud Service will soon be launched in the United Kingdom and made available in Europe later this year.

EHS Product Selection Tool is an easy-to-navigate, online design tool that can recommend the best-fit heating solution for customers. Among its many features it assists with EHS product selection, heat loss calculations, and comparison to other traditional heating solutions including annual energy consumption simulation. The EHS Product Selection Tool will be made available across Europe during this year.

SmartThings Energy is a unique feature of Samsung SmartThings – one of the largest open ecosystems of connected devices. With SmartThings8, you can connect, automate and manage your smart devices remotely, and actions such as pre-heating or pre-cooling your home before you arrive, are possible at a touch of a button, no matter where you are. The SmartThings Energy feature recommends ways for users to be more energy efficient and enables easy monitoring and management of energy usage of a wide range of appliances in the home9, all based on user habits.

b.IoT Lite is an integrated control solution that optimises Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) operation in small and medium-sized buildings. Its open platform connects different devices and machines to the internet to facilitate data exchange that helps improve overall efficiency and convenience of commercial buildings

The ISH trade fair took place over an entire week, from March 13 – 17 at Messe Frankfurt and received over 153,000 visitors from across 154 countries. Representing the HVAC + Water industries, were 2,025 exhibitors from 54 countries. After its four-year hiatus due to the pandemic, this year’s event truly seized the opportunity in offering participants a distinctive platform for a valuable exchange of ideas on critical topics such as the future of the heating transition.
