Connect Your Phone to a PC or Tablet Using Samsung Flow

When you want to transfer a video to your tablet or see phone alerts while you're typing a research paper on your PC, use Samsung Flow. It lets you transfer content and sync notifications between your phone and PC or tablet. And don't worry about connectivity - Samsung Flow will use the phone's mobile hotspot to keep your computer or tablet connected, and use your biometric data to log in if you are registered with Samsung Pass.

Before Getting Started

Before you can enjoy seamless connectivity between your devices, take a second to get everything ready. Follow these tips before getting started:

  • Make sure the Samsung Flow app is installed on your phone and PC or tablet.

  • Make sure the Bluetooth drivers are up to date on your Windows PC, and turn on Bluetooth on both devices to pair them before using Samsung Flow. You can also connect via Wi-Fi if devices are on the same network.

  • You will also need to set up a screen lock on your phone and make sure you have a PIN set up on your Windows PC.

In order to pair your phone and PC or tablet, you will need to have a security measure in place.

On your PC or tablet, you will need to set up a Windows Security PIN number before you can register your biometrics to use Samsung Flow. Next, you will have to set up Samsung Pass and save your biometrics on your phone. This will be the main way you verify your identity when pairing your phone to your PC or tablet.

After you complete registration on both devices, you can use the biometric sign-in option to use all the features in Samsung Flow.

Connect Devices Using Samsung Flow

You will need to have already set up a screen lock on your phone. If you don't have a screen lock, Samsung Flow will prompt you to create one.

Connect your devices so you can get into a flow. Here's how:

Open the Samsung Flow app on your phone and tablet or PC. On both devices, select START and then choose your phone. A passcode will appear on both devices - confirm the passcodes match. If you want, you can select OK to confirm unlocking your Windows device with Samsung Flow, and then enter your Windows Security PIN. For this example, touch NO THANK YOU, and then touch Done to complete setup.

Your phone is now paired to your PC or tablet through Samsung Flow.

First, you'll need to set up a screen lock on your phone to use Samsung Flow. Having a screen lock in place on your phone is necessary in order to unlock your PC or tablet through Samsung Flow. To set a screen lock, navigate to Settings > Lock screen and security > Screen lock type, and select a screen lock type. Next, follow the on-screen instructions.

While you don't need to use a biometric security measure as your screen lock, you will need to save your biometrics within Samsung Flow to begin pairing your phone to your PC. Your biometrics act as the security measure when using Samsung Flow on your phone and PC or tablet.
