Swim with Your Watch
Going for a swim? Your watch is always ready for a dip. Just make sure you turn on Water lock mode to prevent accidental touching on your screen. It will also prevent you from accidentally activating your watch with a wake-up gesture while you're working on that freestyle stroke.
Available screens and settings may vary by provider, phone, or watch.
Only Galaxy Watch and Gear Sport have Water Lock mode.
Whenever your watch gets wet, lightly shake it to remove any water before using it.
Water Lock Mode
Swim-proof and ready for anything, your watch keeps working in the pool, the rain, and even in the shower. If you want to prevent any accidental touches while you're gliding through the waves, turn on Water lock mode.
On the Gear Sport, swipe down the Status panel, touch Water lock mode, and then touch Done. To turn off Water lock mode, press and hold the Home button.
From the Watch's Home screen, navigate to Settings. Then, swipe to and touch Advanced. Next, touch Water lock mode, and then touch the slider to turn it on. If it's the first time using Water lock mode, read the information and then touch the check sign. Water lock mode will then be activated.
To turn off Water lock mode, press and hold the Home button.
Note: When Water lock mode is turned off, the Galaxy Watch will automatically initiate the Eject water function to remove water from the speakers. The Eject water feature creates vibrations with sound waves to shake out any water within the speakers.
