Reset the ice maker in the bottom freezer

If your Samsung bottom freezer ice maker isn’t dispensing ice, you can often fix the issue by resetting it. Removing the ice bucket and using the test button usually restores normal operation. If the problem continues, unplugging your refrigerator or turning off the circuit breaker before trying again may help.

Note
Do not press Test repeatedly after the ice tray is filled with ice or water. The water may overflow or the ice may jam.
2

Test the ice maker.

Once the ice bucket has been removed, locate the Test button at the front of the bottom of the ice maker. Press and hold the Test (A) button until you hear a chime (ding-dong).

You will hear another chime if the ice maker is working properly.

  • If you don't hear a chime, but you can see movement from the ice maker, then the ice maker was reset.
  • If you don't hear a chime and there is no movement from the ice maker, unplug the fridge or turn it off at the circuit breaker for 2 minutes. Then, power it back up and try again.
3

Insert ice bucket.

When you're done, put the bucket back into its original position. Make sure the bucket is inserted properly.
