Galaxy XR: Wi-Fi connection problem

The Wi-Fi network option is only available when your Galaxy XR headset is not connected via Bluetooth. Disconnect from Bluetooth devices to access Wi-Fi settings.

Remove your headset and check your Wi-Fi network.
First, remove your headset and place it on hard, flat surfaces to prevent falls or damage. Then check that your Wi-Fi network is working properly by testing the connection on another device. Verify that your router is powered on and functioning correctly.

Check for Wi-Fi interference.
Ensure there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices causing interference with your Wi-Fi signal. Stay closer to your router to improve signal strength.

Put your headset back on.
Place the headset on your forehead. Make sure the headset does not rest on your nose or cheekbones. Next, adjust the headset until the center of the screen is clear, then adjust the fit dial to secure the device firmly on your head. The headset will automatically turn on; if it doesn't, press and hold the Top button to turn it on.

Restart your headset.
To restart the headset, press and hold the Top button and the Volume down button simultaneously until the Power menu appears. Then, point to and pinch Restart. The headset will automatically power off and then turn back on.

Connect to a Wi-Fi network.

Press the Top button to open the Launcher. Or, use the hand gesture: Hold your palm in front of you until the menu icon appears. Then, pinch your thumb and index fingers together when the menu appears. Next, point to and select Settings, then select Connections, and then select Wi-Fi. Select a network from the Available networks list. If prompted, enter the password. Then, select Connect.

 

  • If you were previously connected to a network, select Forget to remove it, then reconnect by selecting the network again.
  • For hidden networks, tap Add network, and then enter your network name, security type, and password manually.

Reset the network settings.

If you're still unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network, try resetting the network settings. All saved networks will be removed and restored to default settings.

 

Press the Top button to open the Launcher. Or, use the hand gesture: Hold your palm in front of you until the menu icon appears. Then, pinch your thumb and index fingers together when the menu appears. Next, select Settings, then select General Management, and then select Reset. Select Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings. Review the information, and then select Reset settings. Now, try connecting to your Wi-Fi network again.

Perform a factory data reset.

Note: Before resetting your Galaxy XR, back up your data, and ensure a network connection to log out of your Samsung account.

 

Follow these steps to completely wipe your headset and restore it to its original settings if you're still unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network.

 

Press the Top button to open the Launcher. Or, use the hand gesture: Hold your palm in front of you until the menu icon appears. Then, pinch your thumb and index fingers together when the menu appears. Next, select Settings, then select Accounts. Select your account, and then select Remove account. Now, select General Management from the menu on the left, and then select Reset. Select Factory data reset. Review the information, then select Reset, and then select Delete all.

 

Your headset will now be restored to its original state. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup, then try connecting to your Wi-Fi network again.

Contact your network provider.
If you continue to experience issues after performing the steps in this guide, contact your internet service provider to check for network-related problems.
Slow or poor Wi-Fi connection

Remove the headset and check your network connection.

First, remove your headset and place it on hard, flat surfaces to prevent falls or damage. Then check that your Wi-Fi network is working properly:

 

  • Test the connection on another device to verify that your router is functioning correctly.
  • Use an online speed test tool like Speedtest.net or Fast.com to check your internet speed. This will help you determine if your internet connection is slow or unstable.

Check for Wi-Fi interference.
Ensure there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices causing interference with your Wi-Fi signal. Stay closer to your router to improve signal strength.

Restart your router.
Unplug the router from the power source. Allow the router to fully power down by waiting for about 10 seconds. Then, plug the router back into the power source. Ensure the power and Ethernet cables are securely connected.

Put your headset back on.
