Bluetooth keyboard and mouse issues with DeX
Clean the keyboard or mouse.
Inspect the keys or buttons for any visible obstructions or debris. Remove any foreign objects carefully.
Turn off the keyboard or mouse. Use compressed air or a soft brush to remove debris from the keys or buttons. Wipe the keys or buttons gently with a damp cloth (ensure it's not wet).
Verify Bluetooth is turned on.
- Keyboard or mouse: Ensure the device is turned on. If it doesn't turn on, confirm the batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient charge.
- Phone or tablet: Swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick settings, verify the Bluetooth icon is turned on (glowing blue indicates it's enabled), and then touch and hold the Bluetooth icon to check for the device's name under Paired devices.
Restart the keyboard or mouse.
Reset the wireless connection for the Bluetooth device.
Restart DeX and check for updates.
If the device is still not working, restart DeX, and then check for available updates.
- Restart DeX: Disconnect the HDMI cable from the DeX Pad or DeX Station. Or, tap the DeX icon in the Quick panel.
- Checking for updates: Open Settings, swipe to and tap Software update, and then tap Download and install. If no update appears, manually check by selecting Check for updates. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install any available updates.
If the keyboard or mouse remains unresponsive, proceed to step 8.
Adjust the keyboard's language settings.
Adjust the mouse settings.
In DeX mode, navigate to and open Settings, and then select Connected devices. Select Samsung DeX, then select Mouse and trackpad, and then select More settings.
- Use the slider to adjust your pointer speed.
- Select Primary mouse button to change the main button to either Left or Right.
You can also select additional options from this screen, such as Wheel scrolling speed, Enhance pointer precision, and Pointer size and color.
Test the keyboard or mouse on another device.
Check if the keyboard or mouse works on another device, like a laptop. If the keyboard or mouse is still not working after testing it on another device, it may be defective. Contact the product manufacturer for additional support.
