Cannot use Quick Share on Galaxy S26 with Apple devices

Quick Share on the Galaxy S26 series now supports Apple devices, but certain settings and conditions must be met for seamless functionality. This guide explains how to enable and optimize Quick Share for Apple device compatibility, including Wi-Fi requirements, sharing options, and troubleshooting tips.

Cannot use Quick Share on Galaxy S26 with Apple devices

Check for software updates.

First, swipe down from the top right corner of the screen to open the Quick panel, tap Settings, and then tap Software updates. Tap on Last update or System update history to check your device's current software version. Ensure it is updated to ZCF or later. Next, tap the Navigate up icon once to return to the previous menu. Tap Download and install or Check for new updates to search for available updates.  If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it.

Update Google Play Services.

Go to and tap Settings, tap Apps, and then tap Google services. Swipe to the bottom of the menu to check if the Google Play services app is updated to version 26.11.X or later.  If the version is outdated, tap on App details in Store to open the app in the Play Store. If an update is available, tap Update to begin the update process.

Note
  • If no update is available, continue to check back later for new updates.
  • After updating Google Play services, it may take up to one day for the new policy to take effect.

Turn off Wi-Fi Direct and Mobile Hotspot.

From Settings, tap Connection, and then make sure Wi-Fi Direct and the Mobile Hotspot are turned off:

  • To stop active Wi-F Direct connections, tap Wi-Fi, and then turn off the switch at the top of the menu.

  • To turn off your Mobile Hotspot, tap Mobile Hotspot and Tethering, and then turn off the switch next to Mobile Hotspot.

Enable Share with Apple Devices.

Swipe down from the top right corner of the screen to open the Quick panel. Tap the Settings icon (the gear), and then tap Connected devices. Tap Quick Share, and then turn on the switch next to Share with Apple devices.

Supported Apple devices: iPhone 8 (2017) or later, iPad 5th generation (2017) or later, MacBook (2020 or later).

Note
Ensure your Galaxy S26 is updated to the latest software version (ZCF or later) and the Google Play services app is updated (v26.11.x or later).

Set who can share with you.

From Settings, tap Connected devices, and then tap Quick Share. Tap Who can share with you, and then select Everyone (10 minutes only) for compatibility with Apple devices.

Use Quick Share.

Navigate to and select something to share (a file, picture, video, message, etc.) and then tap the Share icon. Tap Quick Share, and then choose the recipient device from the Share to devices nearby section. Wait for acceptance, and a check mark will appear once the transfer is complete.
Note
  • Devices must be unlocked. 
  • Sharing speed with Apple devices may be slower than transfers between Galaxy devices due to OS and platform differences.
  • Wi-Fi may disconnect or drop while using Quick Share. To maintain the Wi-Fi connection after using Quick Share, ensure that 'Share with Apple devices' is disabled.
