Replaced an old condenser dryer with this Samsung series 5 dryer and could not be happier. an astonishing dryer. It's so energy efficient. our old dryer would run at 2.6kW and take about 140 mins for an average load. this Samsung dryer uses only 440W and typically runs for about 180 mins. The sensor automatically recalculates the dying time within the cycle. The supporting app is excellent. So far we are seeing very significant savings, justifying the extra expense of the machine compared to cheaper, less energy efficient machines. Should have got one of these a long time ago. Highly recommend.

My situation: living by the coast and clothes don't dry when we leave them hanging on the clothing line the whole day during winter. I researched and researched for the best dryer and immediately the first choice is a heat pump or condenser type dryer. Your decision will be based on the amount you are willing to spend upfront, how often you plan to use the dryer and then you can calculate how long it will take to balance the prices of the two options. I chose the heat pump option because I want all of my appliances to be energy efficient. The next part of my research was to read through as many reviews as I could. The common issues were poor after sales service, poor drying, bunching of clothes. So I decided to choose a Samsung product because in South Africa they are a well known brand and I assume they would offer the best service compared to other providers. Finally the review of my Samsung 9kgs heat pump dryer. 1. Setting it up for the first time - easy. You just need flat ground, enough space and a plug point. You don't need a drainage point. 2. Water drainage - you have the option to use a drain pipe or the built in water drain tank. The latter is the default, however, you'll have to empty the tank after every drying cycle. It's a full tank of water so come up with exciting ways to use the non potable water. 3. Cleaning of the unit - easy, but the filters have to be cleaned after every drying session (you'll be amazed at the amount of fluff collected) 4. Noise level - it's bearable, however, any clothes with metal buttons will cause extra noise 5. Drying quality - very good (2,5 hour drying cycle). Very little bunching and the anti wrinkle is a good function. I'm still exploring the different drying options. 6. SMART connection - I haven't used this feature yet. But possibly the future homes will all be integrated. Overall, we've been very happy with the dryer. If anything goes wrong I'll definitely update my review because I know how much I needed a thorough review to make my decision.

We bought our machine a year ago, worked well, except it takes a while for clothes to dry, up to 3hours +. Cleaning everything as per indication, now one year after sale we have trouble with the drum that does not want to start spinning. After sale service from Samsung is really not good.

There's none of that fuss you'd usually have with with pipes and hoses etc, so indtallation is mega easy. You would think given the current climate, now us not the time to buy and tumble dryer, but it's super cheap to run. Far less expensive than turning your radiators on to try to desperately dry your clothes. As it's winter and I have 3 small children, I now couldn't live without it!

I did not like to put the school jumpers or socks etc into the tumble dryer as sometimes they could shrink however our new Samsung heat pump tumble dryer has changed our lives, it is fantastic!! I can wash and dry sports clothes, school uniforms in a day we have so much extra space and time now that the Samsung heat pump tumble dryer is in our home. it is truly wonderful. The added bonus of it being so cost-effective is also a real eye-opener we used to run a dehumidifier all night but now a few hours of the heat pump tumble dryer which cost so much less than running a dehumidifier throughout the night to dry our clothes.

Let me start with the fact I've never wanted a dryer, because of their terrible efficiency, major heat output and that awful damp room feeling.  UNTIL I found this Samsung dryer, which I've been using for +- 4months now. This thing is the opposite of all my dryer gripes. It's super efficient, having no real dent in my electricity usage even with multiple daily usages. I've literally stopped hanging washing up because it's just worth using. Next to no heat being expelled, you can stand next to it without getting a sunbelt leg. Zero humidity coming out of it. The best feature is the water reservoir, allowing you to use it without an outlet, convenient when you stay in smaller apartments with less options. This machine checks all the boxes for me and is worth the money. The only sad part now is, not that I WANT, but NEED the washing machine to go with it. maybe one day.

This is a much larger capacity dryer than my 24 year old one that it replaced! I love the feature that keeps tumbling once the cycle has finished to prevent creasing & that it notifies me on my phone once complete. I wish the app would make a sound though. The estimated time at the beginning of the cycle is often dramatically reduced once it realises that some of the clothes have been partly dried already.

Energy Efficiency, Noise (or lack of), really quick and attaches to an external drain so don't need to worry about the water tank. The only disappointment is I thought it had reversible drying, which it doesn't, so things like duvet covers can roll into a ball.

I bought the dryer about 4 months ago. I don't understand why they have taken the rotating function away, it only spins in one direction which makes the linen cluster into a burrito and have to untangle the linen every 2min which is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING.

I've been using this machine for two months. The double filter is twice as difficult to clean. The dryer turns in one direction only, tangles up the clothes and bedding, wrinkle free program or not. I'm not satisfied at all.
