What does Samsung Pass offer?
Samsung Pass is a biometric authentication service that lets you sign in to websites, apps, and other supported services quickly and securely using your fingerprint or iris scan. It also stores personal details such as addresses, payment card information, and notes for instant retrieval. All biometric data is protected by the Samsung Knox security platform.
What is Samsung Pass?
Samsung Pass functions as a secure, all-in-one credential manager. Once your biometric data is enrolled and a screen lock is set, you can use the service to automatically fill in saved login details for supported websites and apps. This removes the need to type usernames or passwords, speeds up the sign-in process, and ensures your credentials remain securely stored.
Beyond authentication, Samsung Pass allows you to access stored personal information with the same biometric verification, making it both a convenience and a security tool in one.
Note: Samsung Pass is available on devices running Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later, and equipped with biometric sensors.
Using Samsung Pass on multiple devices
You can register Samsung Pass on up to five devices under the same Samsung account. When you set it up on a new device, saved IDs, passwords, addresses, and other non-biometric information are synchronised automatically, allowing you to continue using the service without starting again.
For security reasons, biometric data is never shared between devices. This means you must register your fingerprint or iris scan separately on each device where you intend to use Samsung Pass.
Authentication methods used by Samsung Pass
Samsung Pass supports the authentication methods available on your device, including biometric recognition, such as fingerprint or iris recognition, and your chosen screen lock method, such as a pattern, PIN, or password. You can select the method that best suits your needs, but it is recommended to register at least one biometric option for faster access and enhanced security. When accessing a saved service, Samsung Pass prompts you to verify your identity using the selected method before granting access.
