Samsung washer door is locked
Your washer door locks to prevent water from coming out (especially for front-load models). Child Lock will also lock the door on some models, like front loaders. Normally, waiting for the cycle to end is all you need to do to unlock the door or turn your washer on if it's off. If you get stuck, though, you can drain the water from the front load washers using the emergency drain hose; once the water is gone, the door will unlock.
Child Lock will lock the door. This is to prevent children from opening the door and potentially getting hurt.
Make sure the timer has expired and the water has fully drained. To cancel the cycle, touch Start/Pause (Hold to Start). There are a few things to keep in mind when a cycle has completed.
- It could take a few moments for the door lock to unlock.
- Make sure the door lock light is off. This light turns off after the washer has drained.
- If the washer is paused after the water is supplied, the door cannot be opened until one minute has passed.
Note: Top load washer will take up to 5 minutes for the washer to unlock and resume normal operation. (This is due to added safety features to protect the unit).
The washer should make a clicking sound, and the door should unlock.
When water is detected within the washer, front-loading models will lock the door to stop it from overflowing onto the floor. The pump filter, also known as a debris filter, is where you may find the emergency drain hose. Some older front-loading models lack an emergency drain hose or a pump filter.

Turn the washer off and back on again when there is no longer any water flowing out of the emergency drain hose. This time, the door ought to open.
