Samsung Galaxy devices support eSIM (embedded SIM), a digital alternative to physical SIM cards, allowing seamless connectivity without a physical SIM. eSIM setup methods include eSIM Simple Setup, QR code scanning, and manual activation, but availability depends on your region and carrier. Follow these steps to configure eSIM on your Galaxy device.

1. What Is eSIM and How Does It Work?

eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card integrated into your Samsung Galaxy device, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card. It enables you to connect to mobile networks, access data, and make calls using a downloaded profile from your carrier. eSIM technology supports multiple profiles, allowing you to switch between carriers or use dual-SIM functionality on compatible devices.

2. How to Add an eSIM to Your Samsung Galaxy Device

There are three primary methods to add an eSIM to your Samsung Galaxy device:

2.1 eSIM Simple Setup

eSIM Simple Setup allows your carrier to send an eSIM directly to your device without manual configuration. This method is available for select carriers in specific regions.

- Supported carriers include Telstra (Australia), Jio (India), KDDI (Japan), KT (Korea), and AT&T (USA).

2.2 Scan a QR Code

  1. Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager.
  2. Tap Add eSIM, then select Scan QR Code.
  3. Scan the QR code provided by your carrier.
  4. The eSIM profile will download and activate automatically.

2.3 Enter Activation Code Manually

  1. Navigate to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager.
  2. Tap Add eSIM, then choose Scan QR Code > Enter Activation Code.
  3. Enter the activation code given by your carrier.
  4. The eSIM profile will be downloaded and activated.
