Are Samsung Blu-ray players and Blu-ray Home Theater players are protected by Cinavia?
Cinavia is a BDA (Blu-ray Disc Association) standard and it is now a requirement of all Commercial Blu-ray Players, regardless of manufacturer. Samsung Blu-ray players and Blu-ray Home Theater Systems produced in 2011 and 2012 onwards support Cinavia.
Cinavia is a type of DRM (Digital Rights Management) used to limit unauthorized uses of certain movies, TV shows, and any other professionally produced video. Movies that are released on Blu-ray Disc, DVD, or authorized downloads can carry different Cinavia audio watermarks, indicating that these movies are intended for use by consumers, but with limitations regarding whether or how they can be copied.
