Emergency Mobile Alerts are an automatic message that can be only be sent by authorised emergency agencies.


This is a security alert that you are unable to turn off as it is there to keep you safe and notify you of any threats (Extreme or Severe) in the area. When these are sent out they do not target specific phones, instead it gets broadcasted to a targeted area that is at risk. For this reason, they are unable to exclude a specific phone.

To check that this setting is available on your device follow the below stepsClick to Expand

Please check that your mobile is running on the latest software update. Update if required.

1 Go in to Messages on the device

2 Click 3 dots in the top right corner, and select go to settings.

3 Click Emergency alert settings.

4 Click into Emergency alerts and select which types of alerts you would like to receive. Ie. Extreme Threat or Severe Threat. Both will Vibrate when sound plays and Alert sound

5 In emergency alert settings, click on Alert Reminder. You can choose Once, Every 2 minutes or Every 15 minutes

6 If you would like to test this feature, In emergency alert settings select Emergency notification preview.
