Samsung Reduces Laundry Time by Half with QuickDrive™ Technology

The QuickDrive™ washing machine speeds up laundry time without compromising washing performance, boasting AI-powered intelligent assistance – Q-rator – and the highly acclaimed AddWash™ door

Singapore – 21 March 2018 – Samsung Electronics Singapore today announced the availability of its revolutionary new washing machine technology QuickDrive™ in Singapore. The QuickDrive™ washing machine provides consumers with the power to reduce the time it takes to complete users’ laundry by half1, offering them the time-saving solution to do more of the things they love. With the washing machine’s Super Speed setting, completing users’ laundry in just 39 minutes2, it saves up to 20% energy without compromising on washing performance1 and energy efficiency.

Improved Washing Performance with Samsung’s Unique Technology 


Samsung’s QuickDrive™ technology reduces washing time by up to 50%1 and energy use by up to 20% without compromising the cleaning performance1. The unique Q-Drum™ consists of a large main drum and a backplate in the back that rotate independently. Unlike conventional washers that move clothes repeatedly up and down over the course of the cycle, the QuickDrive™ washing machine moves clothes from top to bottom in the drum, and the plate in the back of the drum introduces a back and forth movement. This revolutionary dynamic action powered by double forces quickly, gently and thoroughly removes dirt, delivering an intense and complete wash cycle.


The QuickDrive™ technology was also independently tested and confirmed by Intertek. The test confirms that although washing time has been reduced, the QuickDrive™ technology still provides the same level of cleaning performance and fabric care as existing products1.


In addition, the new QuickDrive™ washing machine features many of Samsung’s outstanding laundry technologies, such as EcoBubble™ that froths detergent with air and water before the cycle begins, generating cleansing bubbles that penetrate fabrics and remove dirt up to 40x3 faster than conventional detergent. Users can wash their clothes as effectively in cool water as they would in warm water, saving up to 70%4 energy.


Smarter, IoT-enabled Washing Machine for User Convenience


Throughout the washing cycle, Samsung’s QuickDrive™ washing machine offers a range of smart and convenient features for users. The IoT-ready washing machine boasts an AI-powered laundry assistant called Q-rator5, which provides three key smart features that allow users to manage laundry more conveniently and efficiently.


The three key smart features are:


  • Laundry Planner6 which enables users to manage a laundry finishing time, allowing them to have more control of their schedules.
  • Laundry Recipe7 which provides automatic recommendations for optimal wash cycles based on information such as colour, fabric type, and degree of soiling provided by the user. Users no longer need to worry about the appropriate type of cycle to use.
  • HomeCare Wizard which monitors the washer by remote, alerting users about potential problems and providing quick troubleshooting support when needed.


The QuickDrive™ washing machine also comes with Samsung’s innovative AddWash™ door, the distinctive access door that gives users the ability to add items at any time during the cycle8. From a forgotten sock to a delicate item9 that only needs rinsing, AddWash™ also allows users to add detergent or fabric softener at a later time during the cycle.


With both the Q-rator and AddWash™ features that create a synergistic effect, Samsung’s QuickDrive™ washing machine further enhances the user convenience, making lives better and easier.

Samsung QuickDrive™ at Spartan Race 2018 


Participants of the Spartan Race 2018 will be able to experience the revolutionary QuickDrive™ washing machine first-hand at the upcoming race! Held at Palawan Green, Sentosa on Saturday, 24 March 2018, Samsung will be hosting a pop-up laundry booth where participants can simply drop off their clothes at the pop-up booth for a quick wash, and collect it after the race.
