Your proposed idea for the competition should be centred around the following themes:

Competition Timeline

Students can participate in the Secondary School category or Pre-University/ Polytechnic/ Institute of Technical Education category. Form a team of two students and a teacher from your school to act as an advisor for the team.

Submission of entries

Your entry should consist of a short description (not more than 1,500 characters), supporting document that articulates the social issue confronting Singapore’s future and your proposed solution leveraging on technology.

Registration for Design Thinking Workshop (For Teachers)

Workshop dates: 3 & 4 Sep

During this 2-day workshop, teachers will be trained in design thinking techniques which can be applied in classrooms to solve real-world issues. Using these techniques, they can then lead students to develop projects to submit for the competition.

Shortlisting of Finalists: Pre-U/ Poly/ ITE (Category 2)

10 teams from Pre-University/ Polytechnic/ Institute of Technical Education (Category 2) will be shortlisted as finalists. They will each receive $1,000 to refine their idea and resubmit their proposal for the finals.

Announcement of Winners: Secondary (Category 1)

3 teams from Secondary Schools (Category 1) will be selected as winners. They will receive their prizes during the finale event on 9 Nov 2018.

9 Nov 2018

Finale Event

10 finalists from Pre-University/ Polytechnic/ Institute of Technical Education (Category 2) will present their ideas to a panel of judges. 5 winners from this category will be selected and presented with their prizes.

3 winning teams from Secondary Schools (Category 1) will also receive their prizes at this event.
