Does Galaxy S9/S9+ 2018 support the Adoptable Storage feature?
What is Adoptable Storage?
Introduce by Google, it is a feature that an external storage media such as Micro SD Card can be formatted on an Android phone and use as a permanant internal storage. Data on the adopted SD Card will be encrypted and cannot be mounted on other devices.
Which devices support adoptable storage?
In order to use adoptable storage, you need a mobile device that runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and a Micro SD Card slot. However, Samsung has disabled this feature since Galaxy S7/S7 Edge and it is no longer supported in the latest models such as Galaxy S9/S9+, Note8 and Galaxy S8/S8+.
• Mainly, Adoptable Storage is a technology applied to devices with low internal memory capacity due to technology constraints or price issues. (If you want to use it as internal memory, you need to format microSD and encrypt it).
• Adoptable Storage is not suitable for usage as external memory can be easily attached/detached. It can not guarantee the system stability and protection of data files
