Can Set-Top Box placed in a vertical position?

The set top box shouldn't be placed in a vertical position. Samsung set top boxes are designed to vent heat best in a horizontal position.Tipping them vertically reduces the ability to vent and may cause overheating. Also, if the set top box is a DVR, setting the set top box vertically may cause the hard disk in the DVR to record improperly.
