You’re camera-ready. Open your Galaxy and choose its best close-up photography setting: Live Focus. It captures sharp portraits when the framing’s tight. This is super important, as your pic will probably be seen in a tiny thumbnail or on a smartphone screen.

It’s pretty simple: Live Focus sharpens the subject for you by blurring its background. All you need to do is tap your subject, then adjust the background blur. You got the pic. Score. Now it’s time to edit. Tweak the RAW image in the Snapseed app. It’s practically a digital darkroom, and you can download it for free in the Google Play Store.

Your lighting may not be perfect, and that’s totally fine. We’re not all pros. Fix it by adjusting exposure. Next, play up small details by changing the structure, then balance it out by tweaking the contrast. If you’re into filters, fiddle with saturation and tint.
