Taking Videos with Your Galaxy Camera
To record video with your Galaxy camera, read the instruction below.
Touch Camera from any Home screen, or press the Shutter button to open the camera app.
Your Galaxy Camera supports video capture at resolutions up to 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps).
To change the resolution of the videos you capture, from the camera app, touch Settings > Movie size.
The icon shown in the movie size location will change based on the last selected resolution.
Not all video sizes are shown when you use certain shooting modes. To access all of the video resolution sizes, touch Mode > Expert > Manual camcorder.
The following resolutions will now be available to you in the movie size setting:
- Full HD 1920 x 1080 (30FPS)
- 1280 x 720 (60FPS)
- HD 1280 x 720 (30FPS)
- Slow motion 768 X 512 (120FPS)
- 640 x 480 (60FPS)
- 640 x 480 (30FPS)
- Sharing 320 x 240 (30FPS)
Aim the camera at the scene and touch to begin recording. When you are recording, you can touch Pause or Stop.
Capture Photos While Recording
Your camera has the ability to capture photos while you are recording video. You can capture up to six photos during a recording session.
Touch at anytime to capture a photo. A progress bar will show how many photos are taken/remaining when you capture a photo.
Reviewing Videos After You Capture Them
You can set your Galaxy Camera to let you review videos after you capture them.
To activate this feature, touch Expand Settings > Settings > General > Review.
Select On, or select a delay option.
When you select a delay option, the video will be shown on the screen for the selected delay time. If you do not touch the screen within that time period, the camera will return to the viewfinder screen.
Touch the video to play back the video. If you do not want to keep the video, touch the Delete icon at the top of the screen.
From the Gallery
When you view your videos from other apps, such as the Gallery, additional sharing options are available. When viewing a video from the Gallery, touch and select a sharing option. From the Gallery you can share using AT&T Locker, Bluetooth, ChatON, Email, Gmail, Google+, Group Play, formerly known as Group Cast, Instagram, Photo Wizard, Picasa, and Wi-Fi Direct.
From the Camera Application
Your Galaxy Camera has several options for sharing right from the camera app. Touch the Share icon. Choose from:
- Share shot: Immediately share captured videos with Wi-Fi Direct-enabled devices.
- Buddy photo share: Share captured photos with buddies you tag from your Contacts list. This feature does not work with videos.
- ChatON photo share: Share captured video using the ChatON messaging app.
- Remote viewfinder: Use a smartphone to control your camera remotely. Captured videos are stored on the camera and on the connected smartphone.
This feature requires a compatible smartphone and the Remote Viewfinder app, available as a free download on Google Play Store.
