Manage Samsung Pay if your phone or watch is missing

The digital wallet in Samsung Pay on your phone or watch has a lot more security than your regular wallet. But what if your phone or watch gets lost or stolen? If that ever happens, you can use Samsung's Find My Mobile service and other security features to remotely lock or erase your payment cards in Samsung Pay.

Note: If you are unable to lock Samsung Pay, contact the card issuer immediately by calling the number on the back of your physical payment card. Please retain gift card confirmation emails in the event you need to re-add cards to Samsung Pay. 

To use Samsung Pay on your smart watch with a non-Samsung phone, you must update to Android 6.0 or higher.

Remotely lock Samsung Pay and reset the phone

Note: Make sure you have all the Find My Mobile requirements already set in place in case you ever lose your phone.

When you lock your phone through Find My Mobile, Samsung Pay will be automatically locked too. Samsung Pay will request the card issuer to suspend any transactions made on your phone until you find it and re-verify your identity.

On a computer, navigate to the Find My Mobile website, and log into your Samsung account. Select your phone from the list of devices and when it's located, click Lock, and then click LOCK. Now no one can access your info or Samsung Pay.

In the worst case scenario, you can reset your phone by clicking Erase data. Remember, resetting your phone will completely wipe its data, including your Samsung Pay information. Make sure to click the Back up option in Find My Mobile or take other backup measures before resetting your phone.

Note: If the phone is reset, you will need to sign into your Samsung account on the phone to restore data from the backup. If a Google account is registered on the phone, you'll need to sign into the Google account on the phone before you can use the phone again.

Remotely lock or erase Samsung Pay on your watch

Note: Make sure you have all the Find My Mobile requirements already set in place in the event of a loss.

If you can't find your watch, there are multiple ways to keep Samsung Pay off limits.

You can lock Samsung Pay on your watch using Find My Mobile. Samsung Pay will suspend all your added cards, so you don't need to worry.

On a computer, navigate to the Find My Mobile website, and log into your Samsung account. Select your watch from the list of devices and when it's located, click Lock Samsung services, and then click LOCK.

If it comes down to it, you can also get rid of Samsung Pay data by clicking Erase Samsung services. Data stored in Samsung Pay cannot be backed up. All cards will be erased. Samsung is not responsible for any data loss.

Remote lock or reset your watch with the Galaxy Wearable app

Note: Your watch must be connected to a stable Wi-Fi or mobile network, and Remote connection must be turned on to use Find My Watch and the remote security features.

You can also lock or reset the smart watch using your phone, which is great if you do not have immediate access to a PC. Lock it up quickly so no one can get their hands on your personal info.

Open the Galaxy Wearable app, navigate to and tap Find My Watch, and then tap Set security.

From here you can select your desired security feature:

  • Remote lock: Lock your watch to prevent unathorized use. Once your watch is locked, Samsung Pay will be off limits.

  • Reset watch: Remotely delete all data on your watch (data cannot be backed up). Once you reset your watch, you can no longer find it with Find My Mobile so use this as a last resort.

  • Reactivation lock: Use your Samsung account to stop anyone from reactivating your watch without your permission.
