Manage Samsung Pay if Your Phone Is Lost or Stolen

Manage Samsung Pay if your phone is lost or stolen

The digital wallet in Samsung Pay on your phone or watch has a lot more security than your regular wallet. But what if your phone or watch gets lost or stolen? If that ever happens, you can use Samsung's Find My Mobile service and other security features to remotely lock or erase your payment cards in Samsung Pay.

If you are unable to lock Samsung Pay, contact the card issuer immediately by calling the number on the back of your physical payment card.

Please retain gift card confirmation emails in the event you need to re-add cards to Samsung Pay.

If Your Phone or Watch Goes Missing

When you set up Samsung Pay on your phone or watch, you will also be required to create a special PIN just for Samsung Pay. That way, if your phone or watch is ever stolen, no one will be able to access your financial data in Samsung Pay.

For an extra layer of security, you should set up a screen lock or biometric security feature just in case.

Note: Biometric security is not available on watches.

Remotely Lock or Reset Samsung Pay on Your Phone

Your phone's Remote Lock feature must be turned on.

If you have Samsung Pay on your phone and it gets lost or stolen, don't panic. You can use Find My Mobile to remotely lock or reset your phone so your personal data won't get stolen.

When you lock your phone through Find My Mobile, Samsung Pay will be automatically locked too. Samsung Pay will also request the card issuer to suspend any transactions made on your phone until you find it and re-verify your identity.

In the worst case scenario, you can completely reset your phone. In doing so, your Samsung Pay data will be completely wiped.
