How to Backup and Restore Your Galaxy Tab S2

You can back up your data on your device using backup accounts like Samsung account and Google account to access later.

Display may vary depending on the wireless service provider.

Using your Google account, you can back up data on your device to your computer.

Backup and Restore Using Samsung Account

Restoring the selected data may delete some data from this device. Make sure the backed up data is up-to-date.

You can configure backup and restore options using the Samsung account.

Backup Data using Samsung Account:

  1. From your Home screen, touch Apps to back up your data.    

  2. Navigate to Settings > Backup and reset > Back up my data.   

  3. If you have not logged into your Samsung account, you will be prompted to the Samsung account sign.    

    If you do not have a Samsung account, make sure you select Create account and follow the on-screen prompt.

  4. After logging into your Samsung account, touch the slider to turn Auto back up on.    

    You can manually choose the content available for backup under Content to back up.

Restore Back up Data using Samsung Account:

  1. From your Home screen, touch Apps to back up your data.

       

  2. Navigate to Settings > Backup and reset > Automatic restore. The switch should be automatically turned on after turning on Auto back up.

    You may be able to restore selective data by selecting Restore for some wireless service providers.

       

Backup and Restore Using Google Account

To Backup and restore data using Google Account:

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

       

       

  2. Navigate to Settings > Backup and reset > Backup account.

    Make sure Back up my data has been switched on to access Backup account.

       

       

  3. Select the backup account by touching Add account.

       

       

  4. You will be prompted to log into your Google account if you have not signed into your Google account previously.

    Make sure you have an existing Google account. If not, create a new google account following the on-screen prompt.

       

  5. To restore the data, make sure the Automatic restore has been switched on.
