Take Screenshots on Galaxy Tab A

A screenshot is a snapshot of your tablet's screen that is saved as a photo. There are several ways to capture screenshots on your tablet. Screenshots will be copied to the clipboard and saved to the Screenshots folder in the Gallery.

Use Tablet Keys to Capture

You can capture a screenshot by simultaneously pressing the Home and Power keys on your tablet until a white border flashes around the edges of the screen.

Palm Swipe to Capture

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > Advanced features.  

  2. Touch Palm swipe to capture, and then touch the slider to turn it on. 

  3. Place the side of your hand on the screen and swipe it across the screen from the right to the left or vice versa to capture a screenshot.  

  4. Screenshots are saved to Gallery > Album > Screenshots.  

View a Screenshot

To view a screenshot immediately after you capture it:

  1. Open the Notification Panel by swiping down from the top of the screen.

  2. Touch Screenshot captured to open the screenshot.

    Note: You can also touch SHARE, EDIT, or DELETE under the screenshot to take action directly from the Notification Panel.

To view your screenshots at any time:

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Gallery.  

  2. Touch Time and select Albums.  

  3. Touch the Screenshots album.  

  4. Touch the desired screenshot.  

Share a Screenshot

From the Notification Panel

  1. Open the Notification Panel by swiping from the top of the screen to the bottom.  

  2. Touch SHARE under the screenshot notification.  

  3. Share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options vary based on apps installed and features turned on.

From the Gallery

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Gallery.  

  2. Touch Time and then select Albums.  

  3. Touch the Screenshots folder and then touch the screenshot you want to view.  

  4. Touch Share at the bottom of the screen and then select a sharing options. Displayed sharing options vary based on apps installed and features turned on. 

Screenshot Options

To view options for screenshots, navigate to the Screenshots folder from the Gallery. The following options are available:

  • Share: Share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options vary based on applications installed and features turned ON.

  • Edit: Choose to Crop the photo, edit it using Photo Editor, or add it to a Collage.

  • Delete: Delete the screenshot.

For more options, touch MORE. The following options are available:

  • Details: View technical information about the screenshot, such as its size.

  • Slideshow: Start a slideshow of the screenshots in the folder.

  • Set as contact picture: Set the screenshot as a contact photo.

  • Set as wallpaper: Set the screenshot as wallpaper.
