Take a screenshot on your Samsung smart watch

Galaxy Watch Active 2 displaying Gallery

Let's say you just received an important message on a smartwatch (like the Galaxy Watch) and you want to save it, just in case. But your phone isn't nearby. No worries, you can take screenshots on your watch, and they will be saved in Gallery. And you can transfer screenshots from your watch to your phone later!

Note: You cannot take screenshots on smart fitness bands like the Galaxy Fit or Gear Fit2 Pro. Available screens and settings may vary by service provider, phone, or watch. Certain apps and features do not allow screenshots.

Capture a screenshot

Maybe you want a screenshot of how many steps you took today. On the Galaxy Watch3, it's as simple as pressing the Home and Back keys simultaneously.

On other Galaxy smart watches, you can capture a screenshot by simultaneously pressing the Home key and swiping from the left side of the screen to the right side.

Hold down the Home button and swipe to take a screenshot

Send screenshots to your phone

Yay! You successfully took a screenshot. But how do you send it to your phone?

From the watch's Home screen, press the Home key, and then tap Gallery. Touch and hold the desired screenshot. To include additional screenshots in the transfer, select your desired screenshots. When you are ready, tap More options, and then tap Send to phone. The screenshot(s) will be transferred to your phone and saved to the Watch or Gear folder in Gallery.

View a screenshot

Once you've transferred your screenshots, you can view them on your watch and phone anytime.

On your watch's Home screen, press the Home key, tap Gallery, and then tap the desired screenshot.

To view screenshots on your phone, you'll need to send them from your watch first. Once you've done that, navigate to Gallery, tap the Watch or Gear album, and then tap the desired screenshot.

From your watch's Home screen, press the Home key and then tap Gallery. Touch and hold the desired screenshot. Swipe left or right to select additional screenshots. When you are ready, tap Delete, and then tap the check mark to confirm.
